Scattering of excited atoms due to ion bombardment of metals

The spectrum and the spatial distribution of the emission of scattered particles upon bombardment of Be, Ti, Ta, and W with H and He ions were studied. The quantum yield and the velocity and angular distributions of the scattered excited particles were measured. Computer simulation of the scattering of H ions and He ions from the metals under study was performed with the use of the program TRIM-95. Agreement is observed between the calculated and experimentally measured angular distributions of the scattered particles.     

General and efficient insertion of carbons carrying benzotriazole

Anions formed from the lithiation of 1-(1-benzotriazolylalkyl)benzotriazoles (1, 6) and 1-(1-methylthioalkyl)benzotriazoles (10 and 10a) with n-BuLi underwent additions to cyclic and acyclic ketones giving intermediates 3a-f, 7b-f, and 11b-d, respectively, in excellent yields. Thermal rearrangements of intermediates 3a,b,d-f and 7b-d,f in the presence of zinc bromide provided one-carbon chain-extended or ring-expanded alpha-benzotriazolyl ketones 4a,b,d-f and 8b-d,f in moderate yields with excellent regioselectivity. By contrast, intermediates 11b-d on treatment with zinc bromide loose a molecule of benzotriazole followed by intramolecular cyclization of the resulting intermediates 12b-d to provide the 2,3- and 1,2,3-substituted indenes 13b-d in good yields.     

Peculiarities of the reactivities of 3-carboxyalkylsydnones

In contrast to the 3-alkyl analogs, the heteroring in 3-carboxyalkylsydnones is cleaved by the action of hydrogen chloride in alcohols. Short-wave band in the electronic spectra of sydnones and sydnonimines

A Novel Synthetic Approach to Phosphorylated Peptidomimetics

It has been shown that the derivatives of diethyl 5‐amino‐2‐phthalimidoalkyl‐1,3‐oxazol‐4‐ylphosphonates can be employed in the synthesis of phosphorylated peptidomimetics containing the phosphonoglycine residue. The reaction of diethyl 5‐alkylamino‐2‐aminoalkyl‐1,3‐oxazol‐4‐ylphosphonates with unsaturated azlactones was utilized to obtain phosphorylated peptidomimetics with dehydroamino acid moieties. The double bond in the latter was reduced with zinc in acetic acid to provide the corresponding saturated peptidomimetics containing a diethoxyphosphoryl group in the side chain.     

Theory of a spatially periodic bose condensate in the weakly nonideal Bose gas model

The possibility of constructing the theory of a spatially periodic Bose condensate in the weakly nonideal Bose gas model is studied. The concept of quasi means and the related separated Bose condensate method are used to derive equations for determining the spatially periodic order parameter for zero temperature at which the contribution of quasiparticles to the thermodynamics of the boson system can be neglected. One-period solutions of these equations are found. Questions of thermodynamic stability are considered for a spatially periodic Bose condensate. Preparation of filter catalysts with the use of alkoxides

New methods for the synthesis of poly(organyloxy)elementoxanes containing Zr, Zr−Y, Al−Ba (Ca, Sr, Ce, Zr) and La−Sr−Co have been developed. The application of these elementoxanes as oxide precursors in the preparation of catalyst supports, catalytic coatings and filter catalysts has been studied.
