Synthesis, structure, and antimetastatic activity of thetrans-[Pt(NC5H4C(O)NHC2H4ONO2)2Cl2] complex

Thetrans-[Pt(NC₅H₄C(O)NHC₂H₄ONO₂)₂Cl₂] complex (2) was prepared by the reaction of nicorandyl (N-nitroethoxynicotinamide), which is widely used in cardiology, with K₂PtCl₄ in water. The structure of2 was established by X-ray structural analysis. It was found that complex2 exhibits high antitumor activity, in particular, antimetastatic activity, unlike the analogous Cu^II complex with bromine atoms. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. It has been established that CO oxidation with excess O₂ on Ni/Al₂O₃ forms an inhomogeneous NiO contact surface that smoothes critical effects in the sharp reactivity change.

Reactions of halogens with N-arylsulfonyl-1,4-benzoquinone monoimines occur with the formation of a halogenonium ion that either transforms into a carbocation where the first halogen atom adds to the carbon in the ortho-position relative to the carbonyl carbon, or the halogenonium ion adds directly the second halogen atom.

Depolymerization of chitin and chitosan in the course of deacetylation in an alkaline medium was studied, and the influence exerted on the process by the nature and concentration of the alkali (NaOH, KOH) and salts (NaCl, NaI, KI) was examined.     

Reaction of 2-Tetrafluoropropoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-4-one with Pyruvonitrile

The reaction of pyruvonitrile with 2-tetrafluoropropoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-4-one results mainly in the enlargement of the starting heteroring to form 4-cyano-4-methyl-2-tetrafluoropropoxy-6,7-benzo-1,3,2⁵-dioxaphosphepin-5-one 2-oxide as a mixture of two diastereomers (14:1) along with minor amounts of 3-cyano-3-methyl-2-tetrafluoropropoxy-6,7-benzo-1,4,2⁵-dioxaphosphepin-5-one 2-oxide.     

Thiapyrylium salts (review)

The literature data touching upon the synthesis of thiapyrylium salts and the stability of the thiapyrylium cation as compared with its isoelectronic analogs, as well as the nucleophilic, oxidation, anion-exchange, and other reactions of the salts with substituted and unsubstituted thiapyrylium cations are examined in this review.     

Carbon nanotube-modified electrodes for electrochemical DNA-sensors

Glassy-carbon electrodes (GCEs) are modified with preoxidized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNTs). According to the data of atomic force microscopy, the layers of CNTs on GCEs possess a homogeneous nanostructurized surface. The voltammetric properties of a GCE/CNT depend on the modifier load. Guanine and deoxyguanosine monophosphate are strongly adsorbed on GCE/CNT and oxidized at +690 and +930 mV (pH 7.0), respectively. The oxidation current of guanine DNA nucleotides adsorbed on a GCE/CNT is significantly higher for the thermally denaturated biopolymer than for the native one. Our results are of interest for the development of sensors based on the electrochemical properties of nucleic acids.
