Polarization data are given for three whiskers recorded with the large solar vacuum telescope at the Baikal Observatory, Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences. The observed degree of polarization varies from 2 to 13%. The direction of the polarization plane for the mediumintensity whisker was tangential, while that for the weakest one was radial. The brightest whisker had the polarization plane direction close to radial at the center of the line but tangential at the flanks. It is assumed that the polarization is due to impact excitation of a hydrogen-atom ensemble in the solar chromosphere by an electron beam, and estimates are made of the beam energy. A near-field scanning optical microscope (NSOM), which we built, is used to investigate 1–5-μm wide stripes with a 10-nm thick layer—a quantum well — on a GaAs surface. A map of the photoluminescence intensity is obtained synchronously with the topographic profile of the structures. The measured spatial distribution of the photoluminescence intensity is described satisfactorily in a model that takes into account carrier diffusion in the layer and the existence of a region with a short carrier lifetime near the side boundaries of the layer. Investigations of phase transitions in barium cerate are carried out by methods of dilatometry and differential scanning calorimetry. Thermal desorption of gases and temperature dependences of electroconduction in dry and humid air are studied. Barium cerate exhibits complex polymorphism, undergoing a number of structural conversions at 300– 1300 K. The peaks in the spectra of thermal desorption of CO2 and H2O correlate with variations in the crystal lattice. Reactions of lithium and magnesium o-carborane derivatives with ethyl -nitrocinnamate, ethyl -(3-indolyl)--nitroacrylate, and diethyl m-nitrobenzylidenemalonate were studied. A variational data assimilation technique applied to the identification of the optimal discretization of interpolation operators and derivatives in the nodes adjacent to the boundary of the domain is discussed in frames of the linear shallow water model. The advantage of controlling the discretization of operators near the boundary rather than boundary conditions is shown. Assimilating data that have been produced by the same model on a finer grid, in a model on a coarse grid, we have shown that optimal discretization allows us to correct such errors of the numerical scheme as under‐resolved boundary layer and wrong wave velocity. The low-temperature specific heat C p of La(Fe0.873Co0.007Al0.12)13 compound has been measured in two states: (i) antiferromagnetic (AFM) with a Néel temperature of T N = 192 K and (ii) ferromagnetic (FM). The FM order appears at T = 4.2 K in a sample exposed to an external magnetic field with induction B C ≥ 2.5 T and is retained for a long time in a zero field at temperatures up to T*C = 23 K. The coefficient γFM in the low-temperature specific heat C = γT + βT 3 in the FM state differs quite insignificantly from that (γAFM) in the AFM state. Contributions to the low-temperature specific heat, which are related to a change in the elastic and magnetoelastic energy caused by magnetostrictive deformations, are considered.  相似文献

Thermally stable organic diradicals with a triplet ground state along with large singlet-triplet energy gap have significant potential for advanced technological applications. A series of phenylene-bridged diradicals with oxoverdazyl and nitronyl nitroxide units were synthesized via a palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of iodoverdazyls with a nitronyl nitroxide-2-ide gold(I) complex with high yields. The diradicals exhibit high stability and do not decompose in an inert atmosphere up to 180 °C. For the diradicals, both substantial AF (ΔEST≈−64 cm−1) and FM (ΔEST≥25 and 100 cm−1) intramolecular exchange interactions were observed. The sign of the exchange interaction is determined both by the bridging moiety (para- or meta-phenylene) and by the type of oxoverdazyl block (C-linked or N-linked). Upon crystallization, diradicals with the triplet ground state form unique one-dimensional exchange-coupled chains with strong intra- and weak inter-diradical ferromagnetic coupling.  相似文献

Complex investigations of the elemental composition and optical characteristics of glass-metal nanocomposites modified by thermo-electric-field processing are carried out. The form of the silver distribution in the glass-metal nanocomposite obtained on the basis of soda-lime silicate glass using silver-sodium ion exchange followed by the reduction of silver during thermal treatment in hydrogen atmosphere is determined. Main transport processes occurring in the nanocomposite under thermo-electric-field treatment are identified.  相似文献
