New Spinor Field Realizations of the Non-Critical W3 String

We investigate the new spinor field realizations of the W3 algebra, making use of the fact that the W3 algebra can be linearized by the addition of a spin-1 current. We then use these new realizations to build the nilpotent Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin charges of the spinor non-critical W3 string.     

Highly Stereoselective Synthesis of trans-3-Aryl-4-carbethoxy-2,3-dihydro-2-fur-2＇-oyl-5-methylfurans

Multi-substituted dihydrofurans are valuable intermediates for the synthesis of natural products and pharmaceuticals. Considerable attention has been focused on the development of efficient and regioselective methods for their preparation. Using K2CO3 as a base, with the reaction of fur-2-oylmethyltriphenylarsonium bromide 1 and ethyl 2-acetyl-3-arylacrylate 2 in tetrahydrofuran at room temperature, we found an efficient protocol was achieved to synthesize trans-3-aryl-4-carbethoxy-2,3-dihydro-2-fur-2＇-oyl-5-methylfurans 3 in good yield with high stereoselectivity. The structure of compound 3 was confirmed by IR, ^1H NMR, MS and HRMS. The mechanism for the formation of 3 was proposed.

Formal (4+1) Cycloaddition and Enantioselective Michael–Henry Cascade Reactions To Synthesize Spiro[4,5]decanes and Spirooxindole Polycycles

Spiro[4,5]decanes and polycyclic compounds bearing spiro[4,5]decane systems are important biofunctional molecules. Described are diastereoselective formal (4+1) cycloaddition reactions to afford oxindole-functionalized spiro[4,5]decanes and organocatalytic enantioselective Michael–Henry cascade reactions of the (4+1) cycloaddition products to generate spirooxindole polycyclic derivatives bearing the spiro[4,5]decane system. Spiro[4,5]decanes bearing oxindoles containing three stereogenic centers and spirooxindole polycycles having seven stereogenic centers, including two all-carbon chiral quaternary centers and one tetrasubstituted chiral carbon center, were obtained with high diastereo- and enantioselectivities.     

Topological Aspects in an Interacting Mixture of a Charged and a Neutral Superfluid in Neutron Stars

By making use of the decomposition of U（1） gauge potential theory and the C-mapping method we discuss a mixture of interacting neutral and charged Bose condensates, which is supposed to be realized in the interior of neutron stars in the form of a coexistent neutron superfluid and protonie superconductor. We propose that this system possesses vortex line knotted solitons and the topological charges of vortex lines are characterized by the winding numbers of the C-mapping. Furthermore the spatial bifurcation of vortices is also discussed.     

Effect of thermal-annealing on the magnetoresistance of manganite-based junctions

Thermal-annealing has been widely used in modulating the oxygen content of manganites. In this work, we have studied the effect of annealing on the transport properties and magnetoresistance of junctions composed of a La0.9Ca0.1MnO3＋6 film and a Nb-doped SrTiO3 substrate. We have demonstrated that the magnetoresistance of junctions is strongly dependent on the annealing conditions： Prom the junction annealed-in-air to the junction annealedin-vacuum, the magnetoresistance near 0-V bias can vary from ～-60% to N～0. A possible mechanism accounting for this phenomenon is discussed.     

Magnetocaloric effect in ErCo2 compound

The ErCo2 compound is prepared by arc-melting and its entropy changes are calculated using Maxwell relation. Its entropy change reaches 38 J/（kg·K） and its refrigerant capacity achieves 291 J/kg at 0-5 T. The mean field approximation is used to calculate the magnetic entropy of ErCo2 compound. Results estimated by using the Maxwell relation deviate from mean field approximation calculations in ferrimagnetic state; however, the data obtained by the two ways are consistent in the vicinity of phase transition or at higher temperatures. This indicates that entropy changes are mainly derived from magnetic degree of freedom, and the lattice has almost no contribution to the entropy change in the vicinity of phase transition but its influence is obvious in the ferrimagnetic state below TC.     

Hidden conformal symmetry of self-dual warped AdS<Subscript>3</Subscript> black holes in topological massive gravity

We extend the recently proposal of hidden conformal symmetry to the self-dual warped AdS₃ black holes in topological massive gravity. It is shown that the wave equation of massive scalar field with sufficient small angular momentum can be reproduced by the SL(2, R) Casimir quadratic operator. Due to the periodic identification in the φ direction, it is found that only the left section of hidden conformal symmetry is broken to U(1), while the right section is unbroken, which only gives the left temperature of dual CFT. As a check of the dual CFT conjecture of self-warped AdS₃ black hole, we further compute the Bekenstein–Hawking entropy and absorption cross section and quasinormal modes of scalar field perturbation and show these are just of the forms predicted by the dual CFT.     

A note on the area spectrum of d-dimensional pure de Sitter Space-time

Consistent supercurrent multiplets are naturally associated with linearized off-shell supergravity models. In S.M. Kuzenko, J. High Energy Phys. 1004, 022 (2010) we presented the hierarchy of such supercurrents which correspond to all the models for linearized 4D $\mathcal{N}=1$ supergravity classified a few years ago. Here we analyze the correspondence between the most general supercurrent given in S.M. Kuzenko, J. High Energy Phys. 1004, 022 (2010) and the one obtained eight years ago in M. Magro et al., Ann. Phys. 298, 123 (2002) using the superfield Noether procedure. We apply the Noether procedure to the general $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric nonlinear sigma-model and show that it naturally leads to the so-called $\mathcal{S}$ -multiplet, revitalized in Z. Komargodski, N. Seiberg, J. High Energy Phys. 1007, 017 (2010).
