We systematically investigate the cooperative effects in shear stress relaxation using equilibrium molecular-dynamics simulations in periodic boundary conditions containing a variable degree of strain. We show that, even in simple liquids, shear stress relaxation is a cooperative effect associated with a correlation length that increases with isobaric decrease in temperature. If the system size is less than the correlation length, shear stress in the system is determined by the boundary strain. Transport, however, does not depend on the boundary conditions. We relate these two effects to the number and properties of the configurations accessible to the system.  相似文献

The hydroformylation of propene to give predominantly iso‐butanal has been achieved; class‐leading selectivity is possible even at higher temperatures that deliver fast conversion. Racemic rhodium complexes of bidentate phospholane phosphites derived from tropos‐biphenols and unusual solvent systems are the key to the selectivity observed.  相似文献

The silanide [Si4{N(SiMe3)Dipp}3] ( 1 ) transforms into the anionic siliconoid cluster [Si7{N(SiMe3)Dipp}3] ( 2 ) with four unsubstituted silicon atoms as a contact ion pair with [K([18]crown-6)] in C6D6 at room temperature within five weeks. Anion 2 was investigated by natural population analysis and visualization of intrinsic atomic orbitals. Magnetically induced current-density calculations of 2 revealed two distinct strong diatropic vortices that sum up in one direction and create a strongly shielded apical silicon atom in 2 .  相似文献

The stannides RE2Au3Sn6 (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm) were synthesized from the elements by arc-melting. Small single crystals were grown by annealing samples in sealed tantalum tubes in an induction furnace with a special annealing sequence. The polycrystalline phases were characterized through their X-ray powder diffraction pattern. The structures of Ce2Au3Sn6, Pr2Au3Sn6, and Nd2Au3Sn6 were refined from single-crystal X-ray diffractometer data. The RE2Au3Sn6 stannides crystallize with the orthorhombic La2Zn3Ge6 type, space group Cmcm. The basic structural building units are Au1@Sn4 tetrahedra and Au2@Sn5 square pyramids. These units are condensed to layers and the structure can be described by a simple stacking of tetrahedral and pyramidal layers with the rare earth cations in between. Temperature dependent susceptibility studies indicate that all rare earth atoms are in the trivalent oxidation state, as their effective magnetic moments match the expected values of the free RE3+ ions. Pr2Au3Sn6 and Nd2Au3Sn6 exhibit antiferromagnetic ordering at TN = 6.3(1) and 6.7(1) K. Investigations of the electrical resistivity of La2Au3Sn6 and Ce2Au3Sn6 confirmed that these compounds are metallic, for La2Au3Sn6 a lower resistivity was observed, in line with the absence of screening unpaired electrons. 119Sn Mössbauer spectra for La2Au3Sn6, Ce2Au3Sn6, Pr2Au3Sn6 and Nd2Au3Sn6 show a complex superposition of three sub-spectra which can be differentiated through their distinctly different quadrupole splitting parameters. The isomer shifts (1.87 to 2.22 mm · s–1) indicate significant s electron density at the tin nuclei.  相似文献

We generalize the overlapping Schwarz domain decomposition method to problems of linear elasticity. The convergence rate independent of the mesh size, coarse-space size, Korn's constant and essential boundary conditions is proved here. Abstract convergence bounds developed here can be used for an analysis of the method applied to singular perturbations of other elliptic problems.  相似文献

The dicationic Ir(III) complex [IrMe(CO)(dppe)(DIB)](BARF)2 having adjacent labile sites has been found to be a very effective catalyst for promoting the Nazarov cyclization of aryl vinyl and divinyl ketones. Spectroscopic evidence for a substate-catalyst complex before cyclization is presented. The efficiency of the cyclization is attributed to the electrophilicity of the Ir(III) complex and substrate activation via chelation.  相似文献

Supernova simulations to date have assumed that during core collapse electron captures occur dominantly on free protons, while captures on heavy nuclei are Pauli blocked and are ignored. We have calculated rates for electron capture on nuclei with mass numbers A=65-112 for the temperatures and densities appropriate for core collapse. We find that these rates are large enough so that, in contrast to previous assumptions, electron capture on nuclei dominates over capture on free protons. This leads to significant changes in core collapse simulations.  相似文献

We synthesized nine quaternary ammonium compounds (QUATs) starting from phenylalanine, N-alkyl-N,N-dimethyl-(1-hydroxy-3-phenylpropyl)-2-ammonium bromides, which were prepared as optically pure substances. Five compounds were prepared as S-enantiomers and four compounds as R-enantiomers. These compounds were evaluated by their activities against bacteria and fungi. Three microbial strains were used in the study: the gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli, the gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and the fungi Candida albicans. The activities were expressed as minimum bactericidal or fungicidal concentrations (MBC). The most active compounds were (2S)-N-tetradecyl-N,N-dimethyl-(1-hydroxy-3-phenylpropyl)-2-ammonium bromide and (2R)-N-tetradecyl-N,N-dimethyl-(1-hydroxy-3-phenylpropyl)-2-ammonium bromide, with MBC values exceeding those of commercial benzalkoniumbromide (BAB) used as standard. The relationships between structure and biological activity of the tested QUATs were quantified by the bilinear model (QSAR) and are discussed.  相似文献
