Synthesis,characterization and antioxidant,antibacterial activity Zn2+, Cu2+, Ni2+ and Co2+, complexes of ligand [2-(thiophen-2-yl)-1-(thiophen-2-ylmethyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole]

New metal complexes of (Zn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)) based on the ligand 2-(thiophen-2-yl)-1-(thiophen-2-ylmethyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole] were synthesized, whose structures were determined with the different spectroscopic techniques ¹H NMR,¹³C NMR, FT-IR, UV–Visible and by mass spectrometry. The thermal analysis was performed by TG-DTA. The antioxidant activity of the ligand and its complexes was evaluated by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method, in comparison with the synthetic antioxidant, ascorbic acid. The results obtained showed that the antioxidant activity of the ligand and its complexes is moderate and that the copper complex has a high activity that exceeds that of ascorbic acid. Antimicrobial activity of the ligand and its metal complexes was studied against two Gram-positive bacteria: Bacillus subtilis ILP1428B, Staphylococcus aureus CIP543154 and two Gram-negative bacteria: Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC27653, Escherichia coli CIP5412 (American Type Culture Collection)the activity data show that the metal complexes are more potent than the free ligand.     

Self-templating polythiophene derivatives: electronic decoupling of conjugated strands through staggered packing

Whereas molecular electronics needs well-controlled 3D geometries for decoupling or interconnecting individual molecules, conjugated polymers form disordered structures when deposited on a substrate. We show that this trend can be overcome in polythiophene derivatives designed so as to exploit weak sulfur-bromine interactions. A self-template effect follows, leading to staggered organizations of well-aligned electronically decoupled conjugated strands, as observed in situ by scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy on graphite.     

Isolation and X-ray crystal structure of tetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloids from Calycotome villosa Subsp. intermedias

Two tetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloids were extracted from the alkaloid fraction of a methanol extract of the seeds of Calycotome Villosa Subsp. intermedia. Their structures were established as (R)-1-hydroxymethyl-7-8-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro- isoquinoline (1) and (S)-7-hydroxymethyl-2-3-dimethoxy-7,8,9,10-tetrahydroisoquinoline chloride (2) by spectroscopic techniques and X-ray diffraction analysis.     

Risk sensitive impulse control of non-Markovian processes

We consider the problem of an optimal stochastic impulse control of non-Markovian Processes when the expression of the cost functional integrates sensitiveness with respect to the risk. For this class, we try to establish the existence of an optimal strategy. We prove that our impulse control problem could be reduced to an iterative sequence of optimal stopping ones. Basically, the problem is solved using techniques involving the Snell envelope notion.     

Flavone glycosides from Calycotome villosa Subsp. Intermedia

The known flavonoid chrysin-7-O-(beta-D-glycopyranoside) (chrysin glucoside,1) as a major fraction and a new glycoside flavone, chrysin-7-O-beta-D-[(6"-acetyl)glycopyranoside] (2) were isolated from the flowers and leaves of Calycotome Villosa Subsp. Intermedia, They were identified by UV-Vis, 1R, (1)H-, (13)C-NMR and ESI-MS.     

Regioselective routes towards 14-hydroxyabietane diterpenes. A formal synthesis of immunosuppressant (−)-triptolide from (+)-abietic acid

Two procedures to introduce an oxygenated function into the C-14 of abietane diterpenes with complete regioselectivity have been developed. Utilizing these, the synthesis of the antileishmanial quinone (−)-12-deoxyroyleanone (1) and a formal synthesis of antitumour and immunosuppressant (−)-triptonide (7) and (−)-triptolide (8) from (+)-abietic acid (13) have been carried out.     

One-step reaction leading to new pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines by condensation of 2-pyrone with 5(3)-amino-3(5)-arylpyrazoles

Condensation of 5(3)-amino-3(5)-arylpyrazoles with 4-hydroxy-6-methylpyran-2-one leads to 5,7-dimethyl-2-arylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines, 5-alkoxycarbonylmethyl-7-methyl-2-arylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines and their isomeric 7-alkoxycarbonylmethyl-5-methyl-2-arylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines. These compounds result from competitive reactions and from different cyclization pathways. Structure and mechanism of formation of these new products are reported.     

Pd-catalyzed regiocontrolled Sonogashira and Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of 3,6-dihalogenoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines: one-pot double-coupling approach

New and efficient regioselective Sonogashira and Suzuki-Miyaura palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions of 3,6-dihalogenoimidazo[1,2-a]pyridines followed by another cross-coupling has been successfully developed. Various solvents, palladium species and bases were tested. Scope and limitations of this regiocontrolled palladium-catalyzed reaction were investigated. The synthesis of 3,6-disubstituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives using one-pot regioselective double-coupling approach was developed. This procedure affords convergent syntheses of polysubstituted compounds in high yields in a very few steps.
