To mitigate CO2 discharged from thermal power plants, studies on CO2 fixation by the photosynthesis of microalgae using actual exhaust gas have been carried out. The results are as follows.
1.  A method is proposed for evaluating the maximum photosynthesis rate in the raceway cultivator using only the algal physical properties;
2.  Outdoor cultivation tests taking actual flue gas were performed with no trouble or break throughout 1 yr using the strain collected in the test;
3.  The produced microalgae is effective as solid fuel; and
4.  The feasibility studies of this system were performed. The system required large land area, but the area is smaller than that required for other biomass systems, such as tree farms.

Atomic-scale Boolean logic gates (LGs) with two inputs and one output (i.e. OR, NOR, AND, NAND) were designed on a Si(100)-(2 × 1)-H surface and connected to the macroscopic scale by metallic nano-pads physisorbed on the Si(100)-(2 × 1)-H surface. The logic inputs are provided by saturating and unsaturating two surface Si dangling bonds, which can, for example, be achieved by adding and extracting two hydrogen atoms per input. Quantum circuit design rules together with semi-empirical elastic-scattering quantum chemistry transport calculations were used to determine the output current intensity of the proposed switches and LGs when they are interconnected to the metallic nano-pads by surface atomic-scale wires. Our calculations demonstrate that the proposed devices can reach ON/OFF ratios of up to 2000 for a running current in the 10 μA range.  相似文献

In order to produce an excellent abrasive, a fabrication method for cocoon shaped silica particles has been studied. The particles are prepared from TMOS, water, ammonia and methanol by a sol–gel method. The method is to add the methanol solution of TMOS at a constant supply rate to a mixture of water, ammonia and methanol. Effects of various reaction conditions such as temperatures, supply rates of TMOS, and amounts of TMOS are studied on the diameter and shape of the particles. The diameter and shape are resulted in depending strongly on temperatures. High temperature makes particles with the high aspect ratio and the small diameter. And the mechanism of forming the cocoon shaped particle is also discussed. It is concluded that the primary particles are generated at the beginning stage of reaction and two of them become the cocoon shaped particle. For the polishing efficiency, particles have high polishing efficiency with the diameter between 40 nm and 210 nm. As a result, best diameter of particles for abrasive is 40–100 nm with respect to polishing efficiency and surface finish.  相似文献

Glass spheres of high refractive index n D = 1.93 were coated with hybrid film of n D = 1.49 by the sol-gel technique for Raman lasers. Glass spheres dispersed in acetone solvent with silicone oligomer were sprayed by an air-spray equipment on a Teflon sheet. On the sheet terrace-shaped coated spheres were obtained. Stimulated Raman emission of WGM was demonstrated by pumping terrace portion of the coated spheres with Ar+ laser (514.5 nm wavelength).  相似文献

We report on a fabrication of photonic crystal structures in organic-inorganic hybrid films by a laser interference technique. Films containing the methacrylic group, which is photopolymerable by an adequate laser light, are prepared using a sol-gel technique from a mixture of organosilicate alkoxide and zirconium alkoxide modified by methacrylic acid. For the photopolymerization, the coated films on glass substrate are exposed to the interference light which is arranged with a square lattice in about 1 m spacing. From microscopic images of microstructures produced by the photopolymerization, the influence of changes in conditions such as pre-bake temperature, photoinitiator and irradiation energy (laser power and duration time) on periodic structure is investigated. Adjusting the conditions, 2D and 3D photonic crystal structures with the micrometer-order period are formed in organo-silicate-zirconate hybrid materials.  相似文献

The hydrolytic stability of the diastereomeric isomers of ApA was compared and the results show that heterochiral ApAs are more rapidly hydrolyzed than homochiral ApAs at low temperatures, suggesting that hydrolytic selection in cold environments in conjunction with selective polymerization may have been effective in enriching the homochirality of RNA.  相似文献

The influence of the insertion of an ultrathin NiO layer between the MgO barrier and the ferromagnetic electrodes in magnetic tunnel junctions has been investigated from measurements of the tunneling magnetoresistance and via x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). The magnetoresistance shows a high asymmetry with respect to bias voltage, giving rise to a negative value of up to -16% at 2.8 K. We attribute this effect to the formation of noncollinear spin structures at the interface of the NiO layer as inferred from XMCD measurements. The magnetic moments of the interface Ni atoms tilt from their easy axis due to exchange coupling with the neighboring ferromagnetic electrode, and the tilting angle decreases with increasing NiO thickness. The experimental observations are further supported by noncollinear spin density functional calculations.  相似文献
