Asymmetric reduction of indol-3-pyruvic acid (IPA) with NaBH4 in aqueous solution in the presence of various cyclodextrins (α-, β-, γ-, mono-6-amino-6-deoxy-β- and di-6ABamino-6AB-deoxy-β-cyclodextrin) was investigated. From the NMR and circular dichroism spectral studies, the conformation of the CyD–substrate complexes is suggested; the part of carboxylic group stay in the cavity of α-CyD, whole of IPA in β-CyD, two molecules in a γ-CyD cavity, and IPA(s) is/are on the rim of the cavity of mono-6-amino-6-deoxy-β- and di-6ABamino-6AB-deoxy-β-CyD (AβCyD, DAβCyD) with electrostatic interaction between amino group and carboxylic group. This conformational difference provides in the difference in the optical selectivity of reduction.  相似文献

Massadine, a highly oxygenated alkaloid, was isolated from the marine sponge Stylissa aff. massa as an inhibitor of geranylgeranyltransferase type I (GGTase I). The structure of massadine has been deduced from spectral data. Massidine inhibited GGTase I from Candida albicans with an IC(50) value of 3.9 microM. [structure: see text]  相似文献

In nuclear industry, removal of nitric acid from solutions is required in the course of chemical separation and waste treatment procedure as well as in chemical conversion steps. The reduction of HNO3 by HCOOH to gaseous products such as nitrogen, nitrogen oxides, and carbon dioxide is an attractive way to accomplish the denitration. A typical problem for the denitration is the existence of the induction period. The induction period has been explained as the time necessary to increase the concentration of HNO2, which is an important reaction intermediate, above a threshold value. In this study, adsorption sites on the surface of active carbon were found to promote HNO2 formation and efficiently suppress the induction period. Induction time was shortened by increasing the amount of active carbon in the solution. When the solution contains 3 M HNO3 and 1 M HCOOH, 10 g/L of active carbon was enough to eliminate the induction period at 50 degrees C. The catalytic effect exhibited by active carbon was similar to that reported for Pt/SiO2. Therefore, on the surface of active carbon, there is a redox cycle, where HNO3 is reduced to HNO2 and then the oxidized surface site will be reduced by HCOOH.  相似文献

Structural changes in never- dried, disintegrated bacteria l cellulose by treatment with aqueous NaOH were examined by electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry and acid hydrolysis behaviour and compared with those of cotton cellulose. The microfibril kept its fibrillar morphology after treatment with NaOH solutions of less than 9% (w/w), but changed into irregular aggregates when treated with NaOH above 12% (w/w), corresponding to the crystal conversion to cellulose II. The crystallinity of the resulting cellulose II was very low after a brief alkali treatment, but was increased significantly by elongated treatment (up to 10 days). In contrast, cotton cellulose was converted to cellulose II of fairly high crystallinity by alkali treatment of as little as 3 min duration, and the crystallinity did not change with longer treatments. The leveling-off degree of polymerization (LODP) of bacterial cellulose was decreased from 150 to 50 by 18% (w/w) NaOH treatment, while that of cotton linter decreased from 260 to 70. These characteristic differences between cotton linter cellulose and bacterial cellulose can be ascribed to a basic difference in microfibrillar organization in these materials: the microfibrils in cotton cellulose are in close contact with neighbouring microfibrils having opposite polarity, and in bacterial cellulose are isolated from each other and require chain folding to form the antiparallel cellulose II crystal  相似文献

Fungal surface glycans play roles in cell protection and interaction. Our knowledge of fungal glycans, however, is limited to model yeasts and a few medically/industrially important fungi. We evaluated the usefulness of a lectin microarray in analysis of live cell surface glycans and then applied the technique to glycome of varieties of yeast-form fungi from various phyla and subphyla. We found glycan profiles are different among and within taxonomic groups. For example, Saccharomycotina were classified into two groups, one bound to mannose-specific lectins and the other bound to galactose/N-acetylgalactosamine-specific lectins. In Basidiomycota, Pucciniomycotina yeasts were distinguished from other subphylum members in binding to fucose-specific lectins. Supplemental materials are available for this article. Three new heteroaromatic alkaloids, nakijinamines C-E (1-3), which are a hybrid of the aaptamine-type and bromoindole alkaloids possessing a taurine- or histidine-derived residue, have been isolated from an Okinawan marine sponge Suberites species. The structures of 1-3 were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data and chemical conversions. Nakijinamines C (1) and E (3) are the first natural products possessing a 1H-oxazolo[4',5':4,5]benzo[1,2,3-de][1,6]naphthyridine ring system.  相似文献
