Homogeneous quaternionic Kähler structures of linear type

A classification of homogeneous quaternionic Kähler structures by real tensors is given and related to Fino's representation theoretic decomposition. Two-proton multiplets in theN=82 nucleus 62 144 Sm82 from in-beamγ-measurements

In a high sensitivity (,2n) in-beam study of ₆₂ ¹⁴⁴ Sm₈₂, with the Kölner Würfel OSIRIS -detector array including a Compton polarimeter, we have identified the complete two-proton multiplets d ₅ ^2/–2 , d ₅ ^2/–1 g ₇ ^2/–1 , g ₇ ^2/–2 , h_11/2d ₅ ^2/–1 and the 9^– to 4^– members of the h_11·/2g ₇ ^2/–1 multiplet.Work partially supported by CICYT (Spain).     

First identification of excited states in 59Zn

Excited states in ⁵⁹Zn were observed for the first time following the fusion-evaporation reaction ²⁴Mg + ⁴⁰Ca at a beam energy of 60 MeV. The GASP array in conjunction with the ISIS Silicon ball and the NeutronRing allowed for the detection of γ-rays in coincidence with evaporated light particles. The mirror symmetry of ⁵⁹Zn and ⁵⁹Cu is discussed. Evidence for nontermination of rotational bands in 74Kr

Three rotational bands in 74Kr were studied up to (in one case one transition short of) the maximum spin I(max) of their respective single-particle configurations. Their lifetimes have been determined using the Doppler-shift attenuation method. The deduced transition quadrupole moments reveal a modest decrease, but far from a complete loss of collectivity at the maximum spin I(max). This feature, together with the results of mean field calculations, indicates that the observed bands do not terminate at I = I(max).     

Investigation of lifetimes in dipole bands of 141Eu

Lifetimes have been measured for dipole bands in ¹⁴¹Eu using DSAM. The deduced B(M1) and B(E2) values as well as B(M1)/B(E2) ratios are compared with calculations in the framework of the TAC (Tilted Axis Cranking) and SPAC (Shears mechanism with Principal Axis Cranking) models. The heavy-ion magnetic spectrometer PRISMA

PRISMA is a magnetic spectrometer installed at Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro (Italy) and designed for A=100–200, E=5–10 MeV-per-nucleon beams, and for possible use with the proposed radioactive beam facility SPES. The foremost features of the instrument are presented, along with the outline of two data analyses exemplifying the effectiveness of PRISMA-CLARA in studies of reaction dynamics.     

Theoretical study of the MgAr molecule and its ion Mg<Superscript>+</Superscript>Ar: potential energy curves and spectroscopic constants

The adiabatic potential energy curves of the low-lying electronic states of the MgAr molecule dissociating into Mg (3s, 3p, 4s, 3d, 4p, 5s, 4d, 5p)+Ar have been investigated. The electronic structure of the Mg-Ar molecule is calculated using [Mg²⁺] and [Ar] core pseudopotentials complemented by the core polarization operators for both atoms, considering the molecule to be a two-electron system. The derived spectroscopic constants of the ground state and lower excited states are in good agreement with available experimental and theoretical work. In addition, for the purpose of checking the pseudopotential accuracy on a simpler related system, low lying potential energy curves of the single active electron Mg⁺Ar ion are also reported and the corresponding molecular constants are compared with those in the existing literature.     

The Homogeneous Geometries of Real Hyperbolic Space

We describe the holonomy algebras of all canonical connections of homogeneous structures on real hyperbolic spaces in all dimensions. The structural results obtained then lead to a determination of the types, in the sense of Tricerri and Vanhecke, of the corresponding homogeneous tensors. We use our analysis to show that the moduli space of homogeneous structures on real hyperbolic space has two connected components.
