Investigation in the field of pyrimidines

The alkylation of 2-amino-4-methyl-6-oxopyrimidine and 2-amino-6-chloro-4-methylpyrimidine with acrylonitrile in an aqueous alkaline medium takes place at the ring nitrogen with the formation of 2-amino-1-(-carboxyethyl)-4-methyl-6-oxopyrimidine (I). A number of esters of compound I have been obtained in the form of hydrochlorides.     

Generalized poisson distribution on groups

The article deals with the arithmetic of distributions on groups. Let X be a locally compact separable abelian metric group, \(e\left( F \right) = e^{ - F\left( X \right)} \left( {\varepsilon _o + F + \frac{{F*2 - }}{{2!}} + ...} \right)\) the generalized Poisson distribution associated with a completely finite measure F, I₀ the class of distributions without indecomposable or idempotent divisors. Some conditions under which the generalized Poisson distributions belong and do not belong to the class I₀ are derived. Some other topics related to the class I₀ are considered.     

High-probability quantum state transfer among nodes of an open XXZ spin chain

This Letter concerns the problem of the high probability state transfer among s² symmetrically placed nodes of the N-node chain of spins 1/2 with the XXZ Hamiltonian. We consider examples with (N,s)=(4,4), (N,s)=(6,4) and (N,s)=(8,8).     

Effects of an electric field on the surface electron barrier in a metal in the presence of an adsorbate. Part 2. An improved Thomas-Fermi method

An improved form of the Thomas-Fermi method (density-functional method) is used to consider the effects of an adsorbate on the screening of an external electric field near the surface of a metal. It is shown that quasihomogeneous models for the electron gas that are based on the local-density approximation do not enable one to consider the field directed towards the metal. When allowance is made for multiparticle effects and inhomogeneous corrections to the electron energy, one can calculate the damping parameter for the electron density and the coordinate of the center of gravity of the screening charge in relation to the electric field strength and adsorbate density. Various nonadditive effects are discussed that are related to the effects of the field on the structure of the double layer, which have an influence on the desorption and evaporation of surface atoms in strong electric fields.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshykeh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 11, pp. 10–14, November, 1981.
