Environmentally-friendly and cost effective hydrogen peroxide in ethyl acetate was used to prepare in high yields pyrrolo[1,2-a]benzimidazoles from commercial o-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)anilines without the requirement for organic-aqueous extraction and chromatography. Six, seven and eight membered ring-fused analogues were similarly obtained in high yields with methanesulfonic acid required for the pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazole. Anti-tumour benzimidazolequinone derivatives were obtained in high yield via the cyclization of 3,6-dimethoxy-2-(cycloamino)anilines.  相似文献

This review article provides a perspective on the synthesis of alicyclic and heterocyclic ring-fused benzimidazoles, imidazo[4,5-f]benzimidazoles, and imidazo[5,4-f]benzimidazoles. These heterocycles have a plethora of biological activities with the iminoquinone and quinone derivatives displaying potent bioreductive antitumor activity. Synthesis is categorized according to the cyclization reaction and mechanisms are detailed. Nitrobenzene reduction, cyclization of aryl amidines, lactams and isothiocyanates are described. Protocols include condensation, cross-dehydrogenative coupling with transition metal catalysis, annulation onto benzimidazole, often using CuI-catalysis, and radical cyclization with homolytic aromatic substitution. Many oxidative transformations are under metal-free conditions, including using thermal, photochemical, and electrochemical methods. Syntheses of diazole analogues of mitomycin C derivatives are described. Traditional oxidations of o-(cycloamino)anilines using peroxides in acid via the t-amino effect remain popular.  相似文献

Polymer recycling is a way to reduce environmental problems caused by polymeric waste accumulation generated from day-to-day applications of polymer materials such packaging and construction. The recycling of polymeric waste helps to conserve natural resource because the most of polymer materials are made from oil and gas. This paper reviews the recent progress on recycling of polymeric waste form some traditional polymers and their systems (blends and composites) such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polystyrene (PS), and introduces the mechanical and chemical recycling concepts. In addition, the effect of mechanical recycling on properties including the mechanical, thermal, rheological and processing properties of the recycled materials is highlighted in the present paper.  相似文献

Biodegradable polymers belong to a family of polymer materials that found applications ranged from medical applications including tissue engineering, wound management, drugs delivery, and orthopedic devices, to packaging and films applications. For broadening their potential applications, biodegradable polymers are modified utilizing several methods such as blending and composites forming, which lead to new materials with unique properties including high performance, low cost, and good processability. This paper reviews the recent information about the morphology of blends consisting of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable polymers and associated mechanical, rheological, and thermal properties of these systems as well as their degradation behavior. In addition, the mechanical performance of composites based on biodegradable polymers is described.  相似文献

Alkyl 2‐cyanoacrylates (CAs) are primarily used as instant adhesives, including those sold under the Loctite brand. The adhesive action can be inhibited with acid stabilizers allowing radical polymerization to be employed. The following article details the first attempted controlled/living radical polymerization of alkyl CAs: Reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization mediated by a poly(methyl methacrylate) dithiobenzoate macroRAFT agent for three different CA monomers (ethyl 2‐cyanoacrylate, n‐butyl 2‐cyanoacrylate, and 2‐phenylethyl cyanoacrylate) allowed the preparation of the first block copolymers of this challenging but commercially important monomer class. This research addresses the scheduling problem of multimedia object requests, which is an important problem in information systems, in particular, for World Wide Web applications. The performance measure considered is the variance of response time which is crucial as end users expect fair treatment to their service requests. This problem is known to be NP-hard. The literature survey indicates that two heuristics have been proposed to solve the problem. In this paper, we present a new heuristic, a hybrid evolutionary heuristic, which is shown to perform much better than the two existing ones, e.g., the overall average errors of the existing ones are 1.012 and 2.042 while the error of the proposed hybrid evolutionary heuristic is 0.154.  相似文献

Nitroxide-mediated solution and precipitation polymerizations of styrene in toluene and supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2), respectively, using the nitroxides N-tert-butyl-N-[1-diethylphosphono-(2,2-dimethylpropyl)]nitroxide (SG1) and 2,2,5-trimethyl-4-phenyl-3-azahexane-3-nitroxide (TIPNO) are presented. Solution polymerizations are compared with simulations using PREDICI software, revealing that differences in the polymerization behaviours between the SG1- and TIPNO-mediated systems cannot be rationalized based on literature rate coefficients and the ideal mechanism for nitroxide-mediated polymerization. Nitroxide and monomer partitioning between the polymer particles and the continuous phase play important roles in the precipitation polymerizations in scCO2. Loss of control (broader molecular weight distributions) as a result of nitroxide partitioning is accentuated at low monomer loading, and is significantly more pronounced for TIPNO than SG1. However, at higher monomer loading the level of control was superior in scCO2 compared to in the corresponding solution polymerizations for both nitroxides, most likely caused by an increase in the number of activation-deactivation cycles experienced by any given chain during its growth.  相似文献

We study two deterministic scheduling problems that combine batching and deterioration features. In both problems, there is a certain demand for identical good quality items to be produced in batches. In the first problem, each batch is assigned an individual machine that requires a cost and a time to be activated. All the machines are identical, work in parallel, and always produce good quality items. All the items are available at time zero and they deteriorate while waiting for production. Deterioration results in a linear increase of time and cost of production. In the second problem, there is a single machine that produces good quality as well as defective items in batches. Each batch is preceded by a setup time and requires a setup cost. Defective items have to be reworked on the same machine. They deteriorate while waiting for rework. At a time to be decided, the machine switches from production to rework defective items of the current batch. After rework, every defective item has the required good quality. In both problems, the objective is to find batch partitioning such that a linear combination of the production cost and production completion time is minimized. The two problems are observed at computer service providers and also reverse logistics. In computer service providers, machines and items correspond to communication service channels and information transfer tasks, respectively. We reduce both problems to minimizing a function of one variable representing the number of batches. In an optimal solution of either problem, there are at most two different batch sizes. The maximum energy release rate criterion, i.e., G max criterion, is commonly used for crack propagation analysis. This fracture criterion is based on the elastic macroscopic strength of materials. In the present investigation, however, the G max criterion has been modified in order to accommodate the consideration of plastic strain energy. This modified criterion is extended to study the fatigue crack growth characteristics of mixed-mode cracks. To predict crack propagation due to fatigue loads, a new elasto–plastic energy model is presented. This new model includes the effects of material properties such as strain hardening exponent n, yield strength σ y , and fracture toughness and stress intensity factor ranges. The results obtained are compared with those obtained using the commonly employed crack growth law and the experimental data.  相似文献
