Path integral quantization corresponding to the deformed Heisenberg algebra

In this paper, the deformation of the Heisenberg algebra, consistent with both the generalized uncertainty principle and doubly special relativity, has been analyzed. It has been observed that, though this algebra can give rise to fractional derivative terms in the corresponding quantum mechanical Hamiltonian, a formal meaning can be given to them by using the theory of harmonic extensions of function. Depending on this argument, the expression of the propagator of the path integral corresponding to the deformed Heisenberg algebra, has been obtained. In particular, the consistent expression of the one dimensional free particle propagator has been evaluated explicitly. With this propagator in hand, it has been shown that, even in free particle case, normal generalized uncertainty principle and doubly special relativity show very much different result.     

HPLC Determination of some antibilharzial antimonials by extraction of antimony

The antimonial drug (antimony potassium tartrate, antimony piperazine tartrate or antimony lithium thiomaleate) in aqueous solution or biological fluid is treated with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate in the presence of a suitable masking reagent, the pH is adjusted to 9 +/- 0.5. and the antimony complex extracted with n-hexane and determined by reversed-phase HPLC with an ODS column and detection at 254 nm. The limits of detection are 20 ng (for antimony potassium tartrate and antimony lithium thiomaleate) and 16 ng (for antimony piperazine tartrate).     

Plasticized open-cell polyurethane foam as a universal matrix for organic reagents in trace element preconcentration: Part I. Collection of silver traces on dithizone foam

The preparation of plasticized foam containing dithizone or zinc dithizonate is described. The foam was used successfully for the rapid and quantitative collection of trace amounts of silver in batch and column experiments. The preconcentration of small amounts of silver from dilute aqueous solutions was found to be possible. The effects of different plasticizers, pH of the aqueous phase, and dithizone concentration in the foam, on the collection rate of silver were critically investigated.     

Alkylation of 2‐pyridinones: Synthesis of novel acyclonucleosides

This paper presents the synthesis of some novel acyclonucleosides containing 2‐pyridinones and 2‐hydroxyethoxymethyl, 2,3‐dihydroxy‐propyl side chain. The tosylate of these nucleosides analogues could be modified to azido derivatives. Also, acyclonucleosides with 1‐ethoxymethyl, 1‐benzyloxymethyl, 1‐methylthiomethy 1 and 2‐hydroxyethyl side chains have been investigated. The O‐alkylated pyridine derivatives were obtained during most reactions.     

Synthesis of Some Pyrimidine 2-Oxo(Thio)-4,6-Dione Derivatives

5-Arylidenes 1a and 1b, on reaction with ethyl cyanoacetate and diethyl malonate in the presence of ammonium acetate under Michael condensation, yield pyridine derivatives 2 and 3, respectively. Cyclopentapyrimidine derivative 4 can also be obtained by the reaction of 1a with malononitrile in the presence of piperidine. The reaction of 5-arylidene lb with monochloroacetic acid in an alkaline medium gives the thiazol derivative 5. Also, spiro-[3′, 5′]cyclohexenyl pyrimidine derivative 6 could be obtained from the reaction of 1d with maleic anhydride. On the other hand, 5-arylidene 1e reacts with maleic anhydride to give 2-thiobarbituric acid derivative 7. The condensation reaction of 2-thiovioluric acid 8 with some hydrazines affords the triazole derivatives 9a-d. Finally, barbituric acid condenses with isatin to give 5-arylidene 1f, which can be cyclized with phosphorous pentoxide to afford 10.     

Fast Grey R.A. as a new colorimetric reagent

Summary Fast Grey R.A. dye can be used for the colorimetric microdetermination of vanadium in the limits of 0.01 to 1 ppm with a sensitive photometer and 0.05 to 8 ppm with a Beckman instrument, at 560 m. A large number of cations and anions up to 10 fold the vanadium amount do not interfere with its determination. Interference due to ferric iron up to an average of 40 fold or copper up to 2 fold the vanadium concentration is simply eliminated by reduction with ascorbic acid and heating in the case of iron or by the same treatment and the addition of ammonium thiocyanate solution in the case of copper.Part II: See Z. analyt. The structure of the diazonium coupling products of phenacyl thiocyanate and phenacyl selenocyanate with diazotized 3-phenyl-5-aminopyrazole

The reaction of diazotized 3-phenyl-5-aminopyrazole with phenacyl thiocyanate 1a and phenacyl selenocyanate 1b afforded directly 2-imino-3-(3-phenyl-5-pyrazolyl)-5-benzoyl-2,3-dihydro-1,3,4-thiadiazole monohydrate 9a and 2-imino-3-(3-phenyl-5-pyrazolyl)-5-benzoyl-2,3-dihydro-1,3,4-selenadiazole monohydrate 9b , respectively. The products 9a and 9b were also obtained from the reaction of C-benzoyl-N-(3-phenyl-5-pyrazolyl)formohydrazidoyl bromide 10 with potassium thiocyanate and potassium selenocyanate, respectively. Acetylation, benzoylation, and nitrosation of 9 afforded the corresponding diacetyl, dibenzoyl, and nitroso derivatives 11-13 , respectively. Cyclization of C-benzoyl-N-(3-phenyl-5-pyrazolyl)-nitrilimine 6 was shown to give the pyrazolo [5,1-d]triazole 8 and not the pyrazolo[5,1-c]-as-triazine derivative 7 , as previously reported.     

Synthesis of 1,2,4-Triazol-3-ylmethyl-, 1,3,4-Oxa-, and -Thiadiazol-2-ylmethyl-1H-[1,2,3]-triazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidinediones

1-Carbethoxymethyl-4,6-dimethyl-1H-[1,2,3]triazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidine-5,7(4H,6H)-dione was synthesized and treated with hydrazine hydrate to give the corresponding hydrazide. The latter hydrazide was treated either with phenylisothiocyanate or with carbon disulfide/alc. KOH to afford the corresponding thiosemicarbazide and oxadiazole derivatives. Alkylation of 2-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazole with dimethyl sulfate or ethyl chloroacetate gave the corresponding 2-methylthio-, and 2-ethylthioglycolate derivatives. Formation of 1,3,4-thiadiazole, 5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole, and 1,3,4-oxadiazole were carried out by treating of the latter thiosemicarbazide with conc. H₂SO₄, NaOH/HCl, and HgO. Treating of 5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole with ethyl chloroacetate afforded the thioglycolate ester. Hydrolysis of the latter with hydrazine hydrate afforded the hydrazide derivatives. Condensation of these hydrazides with monosaccharide aldoses gave the corresponding sugar hydrazones. The novel compounds were tested for antiviral activity against hepatitis B virus and showed moderate activities.     

Synthesis of a novel series of 3-substituted [1]benzothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine derivatives

A series of 3-substituted [1]benzothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine derivatives has been synthesized as possible antileukemic agents by condensation of methyl 3-(ethoxymethylene)amino-2-benzothiophene carboxylate (II) with a variety of amines to afford the corresponding 3-aryl and 3-alkyl [I]benzothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-ones, Ill and IV, respectively. In addition, Mannich reactions of [I]benzothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one (VIII) with formaldehyde and secondary amines gave the expected derivatives, IX. 3-Amino[I]benzothieno[3,2-d]-pyrimidin-4(3H)-one (VI) reacted with substituted aromatic aldehydes in the presence of boron trifluoride to yield the corresponding imines VII.
