2-(5-H/Me/Cl-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-phenol ligands form 1:1 electrolytes, 5-coordinate monometallic complexes with iron(III) nitrate. The geometry of the [Fe(L)(OH)(H2O)2](NO3) complexes was derived from theoretical calculation in DGauss/DFT level (DZVP basis set) on CACHE. In all of the complexes the ligands are bidentate, via one imine nitrogen atom and phenolate oxygen atom. The coordination is completed with a hydroxide ion, and two water molecules, adopting a distorted square pyramidal geometry. The structures of the compounds were confirmed on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic moment, FT-Raman, FT-IR (mid-IR, far-IR), EPR and u.v.–vis. The antimicrobial activities of the free ligands, their hydrochloride salts, and the complexes were evaluated using the disk diffusion method in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as well as the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) dilution method, against nine bacteria and the results are compared with several known antibiotic agents. Antifungal activities were reported for Candida albicans, Kluyveromyces fragilis, Rhodotorula rubra, Debaryomyces hansenii, Hanseniaspora guilliermondii, and the results were referenced against nystatin, ketaconazole, and clotrimazole antifungal agents. In most cases, the compounds tested showed broad-spectrum (Gram+ & Gram bacteria) activities that were either more active or as potent as the references.  相似文献

The free-radical initiated copolymerization of 2-(4-chloro-1-naphtyloxy)-2-oxoethyl methacrylate (ClNOEMA) with 2-(diethylamino) ethyl methacrylate (DEAEMA) was carried out in 1,4-dioxane solution at 70 ± 1°C using 2,2′-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator with different monomer-to-monomer ratios (ranging from 0.15 to 0.85) in the feed. The copolymer composition obtained by elemental analysis led to the determination of reactivity ratios employing Fineman-Ross (F-R) and Kelen-Tüdös (KT) linearization methods. These parameters were also estimated using a non-linear computational fitting procedure, known as reactivity ratios error in variable model (RREVM). The prepared homo and copolymers were tested for their antimicrobial activity against bacteria and yeast. These copolymers have been converted into novel salts by reaction with the iodemethane (CH3I). The copolymers and the corresponding salts have been characterized fully by a range of spectroscopic analysis techniques. The electrical conductivity dependence of temperature of the polymers were measured and the polymers exhibit the semi-conducting behavior, confirming that the electrical conductivity increases with increasing temperature. The poly(CINOEMA-co-DEAEMA) polymer doped by CH3I for 15 min shows the highest conductivity. The optical band gap, activation energy and room temperature conductivity values of these polymers were obtained. These electronic parameters suggest that the poly(CINOEMA-co-DEAEMA)s doped by CH3I for 15 min is an organic semiconductor with the thermally activated conduction mechanism.  相似文献

Undoped and manganese doped ZnO (ZnO:Mn) films were prepared by sol gel method using spin coating technique. The effect of Mn incorporation on the structural and optical properties of the ZnO film has been investigated. The crystalline structure and orientation of the films have been investigated by using their X-ray diffraction spectra. The films exhibit a polycrystalline structure. Mn incorporation led to substantial changes in the structural characteristics of the ZnO film. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of the films showed that the surface morphology of the ZnO film was affected by the Mn incorporation. The transparency of the ZnO film decreased with the Mn incorporation. The optical band gap and Urbach energy values of the ZnO and ZnO:Mn films were found to be 3.22, 3.19 eV and 0.10, 0.23 eV, respectively. The optical constants of these films, such as refractive index, extinction coefficient and optical dielectric constants were determined using transmittance and reflectance spectra. The refractive index dispersion curve of the films obeys the single oscillator model with dispersion parameters. The oscillator energy, E o , and dispersion energy, E d, of the films were determined 5.30 and 16.26 eV for ZnO film and 5.80 and 12.14 eV for ZnO:Mn film, respectively.  相似文献

Series of new mixed aza-oxo-thia macrocyclic ligands {2,6,12,16-tetraaza-1,7,11,17-tetraoxo-9,19-dithia-[(4′-methyl-5′,4,3′)(14′-methyl-15′,14,13′)]ditriazine}cyclocosane (L 1 ); {2,6,13,17-teraaza-1,7,12,18-tetraoxo-9,10,20,21-tetrathia-[(4′-methyl-5′,4,3′)(15′-methyl-14′,16′,15)]di-triazine}cyclodocosane (L 2 ); {2,6,14,18-tetraaza-1,7,13,19-tetraoxo-10,22-dithia-[(4′-methyl-5′,3′,4)(16′-methyl-15′,17′,16)]ditriazine}cyclotetracosane (L 3 ) and {2,6,15,19-tetraaza-1,7,14,12-tetraoxo-10,11,23,24-tetrathia-[(4′-methyl-5′,4,3′)(17′-methyl-8′,17,16′)]ditriazine}cyclohexa-cosane (L 4 ) were synthesized. The structural features of the compounds have been studied by elemental analyses, Mass, FT-Raman, FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The antimicrobial activities of the ligands were evaluated using disk diffusion method in dimethyl sulfoxide as well as the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) dilution method, against 9 bacteria. The obtained results from disk diffusion method were assessed in side-by-side comparison with those of Penicillin-g, Ampicillin, Cefotaxime, Vancomycin, Oflaxacin, and Tetracyclin, well-known antibacterial agents. The results from dilution procedure were compared with Gentamycin as antibacterial and Nystatin as antifungal. The antifungal activities are reported on five yeast cultures namely Candida albicans, Kluyveromyces fragilis, Rhodotorula rubra, Debaryomyces hansenii, and Hanseniaspora guilliermondii, and the results are referenced with Nystatin, Ketaconazole, and Clotrimazole, commercial antifungal agents. In most cases, the compounds show strong antifungal activity in the comparison tests.  相似文献

The nanocluster-CdO film was successfully synthesized by sol-gel method using cadmium acetate and 2-metoxyethanol as starting materials and monoethanolamine as a stabilizer. The structural properties of the CdO film were investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM). AFM results indicate that the CdO film is consisted of nanoclusters with grain size of 75-85 nm. The optical band gap Eg of nanocluster-CdO film was found to be 2.27 eV. The heterostructure, formed from two semiconductor layers having different optical band gaps, p-Si/n-CdO is prepared as a solar cell device. The electrical properties of the device were characterized by current-voltage and capacitance-conductance-voltage methods. The photovoltaic properties of p-Si/n-CdO device have been investigated. The p-Si/n-CdO heterojunction solar cell shows the best values of Voc = 0.41 and Jsc = 2.19 mA/cm2 under AM1.5 illumination. It is evaluated that this work is useful as a basis for the search of nanomaterial CdO and more competitive p-Si/n-CdO based solar cells, despite the fact that Voc and Jsc are lower than those reported in the literature.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity, thermoelectrical, and optical properties of the polyaniline containing boron/double wall carbon nanotubes (CNTs) composites have been investigated. The electrical conductivities of the composites prepared with 1%, 5%, and 8% CNT concentrations at 300 K were found to be 5.31 × 10?6, 2.72 × 10?4, and 1.12 × 10?3 (S/cm), respectively. The thermoelectrical results indicate that all the samples exhibit n‐type electrical conductivity. The optical band gaps of the samples were found to be 3.71 eV for 0% DWNT, 3.32 eV for 1% DWNT, 3.15 eV for 5% DWNT, and 3.12 eV for 8% DWNT. The obtained results suggest that the electrical conductivity of PANI‐B polymer is improved by DWNT doping. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity, thermoelectric power, and dielectric properties of polyaniline doped by boric acid (PANI‐B) have been investigated. The room temperature electrical conductivity of PANI‐B was found to be 1.02 × 10?4 S cm?1. The thermoelectric power factor for the polymer was found to be 0.64 µW m?1 K?2. The optical band gap of the PANI‐B was determined by optical absorption method, and the PANI‐B has a direct optical band gap of 3.71 eV. The alternating charge transport mechanism of the polymer is based on the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model. The imaginary part of the dielectric modulus for the PANI‐B suggests a temperature dependent dielectric relaxation mechanism. Electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power results indicate that the PANI‐B is an organic semiconductor with thermally activated conduction mechanism. Effect of In, Al and Sn dopants on the optical and structural properties of ZnO thin films have been investigated by X-ray diffraction technique and optical characterization method. X-ray diffraction patterns confirm that the films have polycrystalline nature. The thin films have (002) as the preferred orientation. This (002) preferred orientation is due to the minimal surface energy which the hexagonal structure, c-plane to the ZnO crystallites, corresponds to the densest packed plane. The grain size values of the films are found to be 29.0, 35.2 and 39.5 nm for In, Al and Sn doped ZnO thin films, respectively. The optical band gaps of the films were calculated. The absorption edge shifts to the lower wavelengths with In, Al and Sn dopants. The inclusion of dopant into films expands also width of localized states as E(UIn)>E(UAl)>E(USn). The refractive index dispersion curves obey the single oscillator model. The dispersion parameters and optical constants of the films were determined. These parameters changed with In, Al and Sn dopants.  相似文献
