Temperature dependences of the flow and critical shear stresses of dispersion-hardening alloys

A study was made of the temperature dependences of the flow stress _0.1 (T) and of the critical shear stress _cr(T) of Cu-15% A1-(1–2)% Co, Cu-8% A1-(2–2.8)% Co, and Cu-4% A1–2% Co alloys containing noncoherent intermetallic particles. In the case of single crystals at temperatures 77–673° K there was a good agreement between the theoretically calculated values of the Orowan hardening and those found experimentally, so that the dependence _cr(T) was governed by the temperature dependence of the shear modulus G(T). For polycrystalline samples the usual dependence of the mechanical propertiesties on the grain size was not observed. At temperatures from 77 to 473–573°K the dependence _0.1 (T) was similar to the dependence G(T) and a good agreement was observed between the theoretically calculated dispersion hardening effects with those found experimentally. At temperatures T > 473–573°K the deformation was influenced greatly by grain-boundary glide, which enhanced the dependence _0.1 (T) compared with that expected theoretically.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 6, pp. 85–91, June, 1980.     

Aminolysis of 2-Aryl-5-R-5,6-dihydro-7H-[1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-<Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis>]1,3]thiazin-7-ones

We have established that the products of aminolysis of 2-aryl-5-R-5,6-dihydro-7H-[1,2,4]triazolo-[5,1-b][1,3]thiazin-7-ones in boiling ethanol are 3-R-3-(5-aryl-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-ylsulfanyl)-propanamides, and at 180°C–210°C (depending on the structure of the substituent R): 3-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazoline-5-thione and 3-arylacrylamides or 3-(3-aryl-5-thioxo-4,5-dihydro-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propanamides. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 10, pp. 1587–1592, October, 2005.

Cyclocondensation of 5-benzoyl-3-ethoxycarbonyl-6-methylthio-1-R-1,2-dihydropyrid-2-ones with heterocyclic N,N-and N,C-1,3-dinucleophiles

[3+3] Cyclocondensation of 5-benzoyl-3-ethoxycarbonyl-6-methylthio-1-R-1,2-dihydropyrid-2-ones with heterocyclic N,N-and N,C-1,3-dinucleophiles proceeds regioselectively to give a series of new tri-and tetracyclic heterosystems, viz. derivatives of 5,6-dihydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-6-one, 1,2-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrido[2′,3′: 3,4]pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-one, 8,9-dihydro-5H-pyrido-[2,3-d]thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-8-one, 1,2-dihydrobenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-one, and 1,2-dihydrobenzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-g][1,6]naphthyridin-2-one.     

Reaction of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-aryl-3-oxobutanethioamides with 2-amino-1,3-thiazole and 2-amino-1,3-benzothiazole

N-Aryl-3-oxobutanethioamides react with 2-amino-1,3-thiazole (2-amino-1,3-benzothiazole) in acetic acid to give mixtures of 7-methyl-5H-[1,3]thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine-5-thione (2-methyl-4H-pyrimido-[2,1-b][1,3]benzothiazole-4-thione) and 5-arylimino-7-methyl-5H-[1,3]thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidines (4-arylimino-2-methyl-4H-pyrimido[2,1-b][1,3]benzothiazoles), whose ratio depends on the nature of the aryl substituent in the initial butanethioamide.     

Synthesis and Transformations of 2-R-5-Aryl-5,6-dihydro-7H-[1,2,4]-triazolo[5,1-b][1,3]thiazin-7-ones

A new procedure for preparation of 2-R-5-aryl-5,6-dihydro-7H-[1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-b][1,3]thiazin-7-ones by condensation of 5-R-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiones with 3-arylacryloyl chlorides was developed. The thiazine ring of the [1,2,4]triazolo[5,1-b][1,3]thiazin-7-ones is easily cleaved by treating with ammonia and hydrazine affording amides and hydrazides of 3-aryl-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ylsulfanyl)propanoic acids. The latter react with isothiocyanates furnishing carbamoyl thiohydrazides of 3-aryl-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ylsulfanyl)propanoic acids that in alkaline media undergo cyclization into 4-aryl-5-[2-(4H-1,2,4-triazol-5-ylsulfanyl)-2-phenylethyl]-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-5-thiones.     

Some chemical properties of 2,3-dihydro-4H-[1,3]thiazino[3,2-a]benzimidazol-4-one and 2-aryl-2,3-dihydro-4H-[1,3]thiazino[3,2-a]benzimidazol-4-ones

We have studied the reaction of 2,3-dihydro-4H-[1,3]thiazino[3,2-a]benzimidazol-4-one and 2-aryl-2,3-dihydro-4H-[1,3]thiazino[3,2-a]benzimidazol-4-ones with amines, alkylating reagents, and hydrogen peroxide. We have shown that the presence of an aryl substituent at the 2 position of [1,3-thiazino[3,2-a]benzimidazol-4-ones has a substantial effect on the direction of the reactions. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 3, pp. 445–452, March, 2006.     

Cycloacylation of N-phenyl-N′-R-thioureas with 3-aryl-2-propenoyl chlorides

Cycloalkylation of N-phenyl-N′-R-thiourea with 3-aryl-2-propenoyl chlorides in acetone gives as products 6-aryl-3-phenyl-2-(R-imino)-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-4H-1,3-thiazin-4-one and their hydrochlorides. The same reaction carried out in acetone in the presence of K₂CO₃ leads to the formation of 6-aryl-3-phenyl-2-(R-imino)-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-4H-1,3-thiazin-4-ones, N-(3-aryl-2-propenoyl)-N-phenylthioureas, 3-aryl-2-propenoylanilides, and phenyl isothiocyanate.     

Synthesis and Transformations of 5-Substituted 2-Aryl-7H-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,2-b][1,3]thiazin-7-ones and 2-Aryl-2,3-dihydro-4H-[1,3]thiazino[3,2-a]benzimidazol-4-ones

3-Aryl-1,2,4-triazole-5-thiones react with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate and methyl 3-phenyl-propynoate to afford the corresponding 5-substituted 2-aryl-7H-[1,2,4]triazolo[3,2-b][1,3]thiazin-7-ones. Treatment of 2-aryl-2,3-dihydro-4H-[1,3]thiazino[3,2-a]benzimidazol-4-ones with alkalies leads to formation of 3-(benzimidazol-2-ylsulfanyl)-3-arylpropionic acids, their reaction with methyl p-toluenesulfonate yields 1-(3-methyl-2-thioxo-2,3-dihydro-1N-benzimidazol-1-yl)-3-phenyl-2-propen-1-one, and oxidation with hydrogen peroxide gives benzimidazole-2-sulfonic acid and 3-aryl-2-propenoic acids.__________Translated from Zhurnal Organicheskoi Khimii, Vol. 41, No. 1, 2005, pp. 109–114.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by Britsun, Esipenko, Chernega, Lozinskii.
