The experimental conditions and parameters that control the transition from a steady to an nonsteady limiting current and vice versa in the anodic Fe dissolution are studied in sulfuric acid solutions by using a downward-facing Fe electrode. Periodic and chaotic current oscillations are observed at the beginning of the limiting current region within a fixed potential region by decreasing the sulfuric acid concentration, by increasing the Fe-disk rotation rate and by increasing a series external resistance. It is found that current oscillations emerge when theIR drop exceeds a critical value (IR)crit. The latter depends on the hydrodynamic conditions pertaining to the system. This is realized by the differences appeared in the value of (IR)crit on using a stationary or a rotating Fe electrode. The effect of hydrodynamic conditions is shown by additional experimental results obtained by using an upward-facing Fe electrode, by increasing the density and viscosity of the solution on addition of glycerol, and by altering the solution properties near the Fe surface on addition of halide ions. The title compound, C33H50N2O2, is a side product in the reaction of all-trans-retinoic acid (atRA) with N-hydroxysuccinimide, in the presence of the coupling agent N,N′-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, which produces the ‘active’ ester succinimidyl all-trans-retinoate as the product. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic Pbca space group. The compound was characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, ESI–MS and IR spectroscopy and its structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. For example in the 13C-NMR spectrum, diagnostic peaks are those of the two amide carbonyl C atoms at δ 169.5 and 154.2 ppm, the ten olefinic C atoms of the unsaturated chain of atRA moiety at δ 149.0, 139.3, 137.7, 137.3, 134.9, 130.2, 130.0, 129.4, 128.5 and 121.5 ppm and the two methine C atoms of the N,N′-dicyclohexylurea moiety at δ 57.9 and 49.5 ppm. Detailed analysis of its molecular and supramolecular structure showed that close-packing principles (elongated shape/large hydrophobic region of the molecule) together with chemical factors (N–H?O and C–H?O intermolecular interactions) direct the 3D self-assembly process in the crystalline state. Hirshfeld surface analysis was employed, a powerful approach to quickly and easily gain insight into molecular environments in the crystalline state.

Polyamine toxins (PATs) are conjugates of polyamines (PAs) with lipophilic carboxylic acids, which have been recently shown to present antiproliferative activity. Ten analogs of the spider PATs Agel 416, HO-416b, and JSTX-3 and the wasp PAT PhTX-433 were synthesized with changes in the lipophilic head group and/or the PA chain, and their antiproliferative activity was evaluated on MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells, using Agel 416 and HO-416b as reference compounds. All five analogs of PhTX-433 were of very low activity on both cell lines, whereas the two analogs of JSTX-3 were highly active only on the MCF-7 cell line with IC50 values of 2.63–2.81 μΜ. Of the remaining three Agel 416 or HO-416b analogs, only the one with the spermidine chain was highly active on both cells with IC50 values of 3.15–12.6 μM. The two most potent compounds in this series, Agel 416 and HO-416b, with IC50 values of 0.09–3.98 μΜ for both cell lines, were found to have a very weak cytotoxic effect on the MCF-12A normal breast cells. The present study points out that the structure of both the head group and the PA chain determine the strength of the antiproliferative activity of PATs and their selectivity towards different cells.  相似文献

Volvariella volvacea strains were studied in relation with their ability to produce biomass, lipids and polysaccharides. Firstly, screening of four strains (AMLR 188, 190, 191 and 192) was performed in agar cultures, where the mycelial growth rate of the strains was measured, and in static liquid cultures, where the production of biomass, the biosynthesis of total cellular lipids and the consumption of glucose were monitored. For all strains, biomass production was significant (13?C15?g?l?1) and total lipid in dry weight (%, w/w) ranged from 3 to 12?%. Afterwards, a detailed kinetic analysis of mycelial biomass, extra- and intra- cellular polysaccharides (EPS, IPS, respectively) as well as lipid production by a V. volvacea selected strain was conducted in submerged static and agitated cultures. Maximum values of 15?g?l?1 biomass, ??1.0?g?l?1 EPS and 5.5?g?l?1 IPS were recorded. Agitation did not have severe impact on biomass, EPS and IPS production, but it increased total lipid in dry weight quantities. EPS, IPS and lipid in dry weight values decreased with time. Glucose was the major cellular carbohydrate detected. Total fatty acid analysis of cellular lipids was performed for all V. volvacea strains and linoleic acid ??9,12C18:2 was predominant. Neutral lipids constituted the major fraction of cellular lipids, but their quantity decreased as fermentation proceeded. Phospholipids were the most saturated lipid fraction.  相似文献

Reaction of Ni(NO3)2 · 6H2O with 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (btaOH) in DMF/aqueous NH3 and layering of the resulting solution with MeCN yields the complex [Ni3(btaO)6(NH3)6] · 0.47DMF · 0.75MeCN · 1.58H2O, (ca. 80% yield), the structure of which has been determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The asymmetric unit contains two, structurally similar, trinuclear molecules. The six-coordinate NiII atom is linked to each terminal NiII atom by three btaO ions; three NH3 molecules complete the octahedral coordination at each terminal metal ion. The btaO ions behave as bidentate bridging ligands, binding through N(3) to the central NiII atom and through N(2) to the terminal NiII atoms, with the deprotonated oxygen atom remaining uncoordinated and participating in hydrogen bonding with the ammine ligand. The complex was also characterized by room-temperature effective magnetic moment and spectroscopic (i.r., ligand field) studies. The data are discussed in terms of the nature of bonding and other known structures.  相似文献

ICl photolysis in the ultraviolet region of the spectrum (235-265 nm) is studied using the Slice Imaging technique. The Cl?((2)P(1/2))/Cl((2)P(3/2)) and the I?((2)P(1/2))/I((2)P(3/2)) branching ratio between the I((2)P(3/2)) + Cl((2)P(3/2))∕Cl?((2)P(1/2)) and I?((2)P(1/2)) + Cl((2)P(3∕/2))∕Cl?((2)P(1/2)) channels is extracted from the respective iodine and chlorine photofragment images. We find that ground state chlorine atoms (Cl((2)P(3/2))) are formed nearly exclusively with excited state iodine atoms (I?((2)P(1/2))), while excited spin-orbit chlorine atoms (Cl?((2)P(1/2))) are concurrently produced only with ground state iodine atoms (I((2)P(3/2))). We conclude that photolysis of ICl in this UV region is a relatively "clean" source of spin-orbit excited chlorine atoms that can be used in crossed molecular beam experiments.  相似文献

The effect of four synthetic media containing glucose (initial concentration 30?g?l?1) on mycelial growth, exopolysaccharides (EPS) and cellular lipids production was examined in 11 mushroom species after 12 and 16?days of culture in static- and shake-flasks. Fatty acid analysis of cellular lipids produced was also performed. Agitation had a positive effect on biomass production, glucose consumption and lipid biosynthesis. Media that favoured the production of biomass were not suitable for EPS biosynthesis and vice versa. Biomass values varied from ??1.0?g?l?1 (Lentinula edodes) to ??19?g?l?1 (Pleurotus ostreatus), while the highest EPS quantity achieved ranged between 1.6 and 1.8?g?l?1 (for Ganoderma lucidum and L. edodes, respectively). Quantities of total cellular lipids varied between 2.5 and 18.5?% w/w, in dry mycelial mass for the fungi tested. Lipid in dry weight values were influenced by the medium composition. Cellular lipids presented noticeable quantities of poly-unsaturated fatty acids like linoleic acid. Compared to most of the mushrooms tested, lipids of Volvariella volvacea were more saturated. The ability of several mushroom species of our study to produce in notable quantities the above-mentioned added-value compounds renders these fungi worthy for further investigations.  相似文献
