The analysis by X-ray diffraction of a mining sample collected from Oshno hill, which is located in the District of Chavín de Pariarca, Huamalies Province, Huanuco, Peru, indicates the presence of lepidocrocite (γ-FeOOH) and goethite (α-FeOOH). The room temperature Mössbauer spectrum (MS) doublet with broad lines displays hyperfine parameters corresponding to the presence of particles of iron hydroxides smaller than 100 Å in a superparamagnetic regime. The measurement of a MS at 4.2 K allowed confirming the presence of goethite and lepidocrocite (with average magnetic fields of 49.21 T and 44.59 T, respectively).  相似文献

The influence of physical aging on the electret properties before corona charging of three amorphous polymers, polyetherimide (PEI), poly(phenylene ether) (PPE), and polystyrene (PS), as well as with blends of PPE and PS, was investigated. The degree of aging was monitored by determining the enthalpy relaxation Δh using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The electret performance was evaluated by isothermal potential decay (ITPD) at elevated temperatures and by thermal stimulated discharge (TSD) measurements. It was demonstrated that physical aging below the glass transition temperature substantially improves the electret performance of amorphous polymers by reducing the free volume and thus hindering charge motion. As an example, the performance of nonaged PEI was improved by physical aging at 200 °C for 4 days from 18 to 95% retained charge after 24 h at 120 °C. A similar beneficial influence of physical aging on the charge storage capability was achieved using blends of PPE with PS. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. c-Src and c-Abl are two closely related protein kinases that constitute important anticancer targets. Despite their high sequence identity, they show different sensitivities to the anticancer drug imatinib, which binds specifically to a particular inactive conformation in which the Asp of the conserved DFG motif points outward (DFG-out). We have analyzed the DFG conformational transition of the two kinases using massive molecular dynamics simulations, free energy calculations, and isothermal titration calorimetry. On the basis of the reconstruction of the free energy surfaces for the DFG-in to DFG-out conformational changes of c-Src and c-Abl, we propose that the different flexibility of the two kinases results in a different stability of the DFG-out conformation and might be the main determinant of imatinib selectivity.  相似文献

In this work, Cr(III) adsorption on activated carbon obtained from olive stones in an upflow fixed-bed column at 30C was studied. The flow rate influence on the breakthrough curves at a feed concentration of 0.87 meq/L was investigated in an attempt to minimize the diffusional resistances. Breakthrough curves for a flow range of 2–8 mL/min were obtained at 10.5 cm bed height and inlet diameter of 0.9 cm. The mass transfer parameters indicated that the bed minimal resistance was attained at 2 mL/min. Therefore, the data equilibrium was carried out until the bed was saturated at 2 mL/min. The dynamic system generated a favorable isotherm with a maximum chromium uptake of 0.45 meq/g. A column sorption mathematical model was created considering the axial dispersion in the column and the intraparticle diffusion rate-controlling steps. The isotherm was successfully modeled by the Langmuir equation and the mathematical model described the experimental dynamic data adequately for feed concentrations from 0.26 to 3.29 meq/L.  相似文献

Due to the establishment of common thermoplastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene and polytetrafluoroethylene as substrates for modern electrets, research in this field has seen significant progress in recent decades. However, there still is a need for new substrate materials in order to boost modern-day electret applications. Important targets for a further development are electret substrates with a tailored balance between cost and performance especially at elevated temperatures. In this study, experimental results concerning the charge storage behaviour of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether) (PPE) films and its blends with polystyrene (PS) are presented. As demonstrated, the good electret performance of neat PPE can be further enhanced by the addition of suitable weight fractions of PS, a synergistic electret behaviour that is related to morphological blend parameters such as the packaging density and the presence of PS micro-heterogeneities in the PPE/PS matrix. Most importantly, the results highlighted in this study clearly demonstrate the potential of blending as a promising approach towards satisfying the demands of tomorrows’ electret applications.  相似文献

The widely expressed G‐protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are versatile signal transducer proteins that are attractive drug targets but structurally challenging to study. GPCRs undergo a number of conformational rearrangements when transitioning from the inactive to the active state but have so far been believed to adopt a fairly conserved inactive conformation. Using 19F NMR spectroscopy and advanced molecular dynamics simulations we describe a novel inactive state of the adenosine 2A receptor which is stabilised by the aminotriazole antagonist Cmpd‐1. We demonstrate that the ligand stabilises a unique conformation of helix V and present data on the putative binding mode of the compound involving contacts to the transmembrane bundle as well as the extracellular loop 2.  相似文献

We report a process for preparing polymer ferroelectrets by means of screen printing—a technology that is widely used for the two-dimensional patterning of printed layers. In order to produce polymer-film systems with cavities that are suitable for bipolar electric charging, a screen-printing paste is deposited through a screen with a pre-designed pattern onto the surface of a polymer electret film. Another such polymer film is placed on top of the printed pattern, and well-defined cavities are formed in-between. During heating and curing, the polymer films are tightly bonded to the patterned paste layer so that a stable three-layer system is obtained. In the present work, polycarbonate (PC) films have been employed as electret layers. Screen printing, curing and charging led to PC ferroelectret systems with a piezoelectric d 33 coefficient of about 28 pC/N that is stable up to 100 °C. Due to the rather soft patterned layer, d 33 strongly decreases already for static pressures of tens of kPa. The results demonstrate the suitability of screen printing for the preparation of ferroelectret systems.  相似文献
