In the present study, new experimental data are presented for literature on the prediction of film thickness and identification of flow regime during the co-current downward condensation in a vertical smooth copper tube having an inner diameter of 8.1 mm and a length of 500 mm. R134a and water are used as working fluids in the tube side and annular side of a double tube heat exchanger, respectively. Condensation experiments are done at mass fluxes of 300 and 515 kg m?2 s?1. The condensing temperatures are between 40 and 50 °C; heat fluxes are between 12.65 and 66.61 kW m?2. The average experimental heat transfer coefficient of the refrigerant HFC-134a is calculated by applying an energy balance based on the energy transferred from the test section. A mathematical model by Barnea et al. based on the momentum balance of liquid and vapor phases is used to determine the condensation film thickness of R134a. The comparative film thickness values are determined indirectly using relevant measured data together with various void fraction models and correlations reported in the open literature. The effects of heat flux, mass flux, and condensation temperature on the film thickness and condensation heat transfer coefficient are also discussed for the laminar and turbulent flow conditions. There is a good agreement between the film thickness results obtained from the theoretical model and those obtained from six of 35 void fraction models in the high mass flux region of R134a. In spite of their different valid conditions, six well-known flow regime maps from the literature are found to be predictive for the annular flow conditions in the test tube in spite of their different operating conditions.  相似文献

In this study, we present an approach based on neural networks, as an alternative to the ordinary least squares method, to describe the relation between the dependent and independent variables. It has been suggested to construct a model to describe the relation between dependent and independent variables as an alternative to the ordinary least squares method. A new model, which contains the month and number of payments, is proposed based on real data to determine total claim amounts in insurance as an alternative to the model suggested by Rousseeuw et al. In this study, experimental and simulation studies of the evaporation heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop of R-134a flowing through corrugated tubes are conducted. The test section is a horizontal counter-flow concentric tube-in-tube heat exchanger 2.0 m in length. A smooth tube and corrugated tubes with inner diameters of 8.7 mm are used as the inner tube. The outer tube is made from a smooth copper tube with an inner diameter of 21.2 mm. The corrugation pitches used in this study are 5.08, 6.35, and 8.46 mm. Similarly, the corrugation depths are 1, 1.25, and 1.5 mm, respectively. The results show that the maximum heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop obtained from the corrugated tube are up to 22 and 19 % higher than those obtained from the smooth tube, respectively. In addition, the average difference of the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop between the simulation model and experimental data are about 10 and 15 %, respectively.  相似文献

A theoretical performance study on a shell and tube condenser with various refrigerant blends was conducted for various ratios proposed by other researchers in the literature. The theoretical results showed that all of the alternative refrigerants investigated in the analysis have a slightly lower convective heat transfer coefficient than their base refrigerants. The refrigerant mixture of R290/R600, R152a/R125/R32 and R32/R134a were found to be the most proper replacement refrigerant among the alternatives.  相似文献

In a regression analysis, it is assumed that the observations come from a single class in a data cluster and the simple functional relationship between the dependent and independent variables can be expressed using the general model; Y=f(X)+ε. However; a data cluster may consist of a combination of observations that have different distributions that are derived from different clusters. When faced with issues of estimating a regression model for fuzzy inputs that have been derived from different distributions, this regression model has been termed the ‘switching regression model’ and it is expressed with . Here li indicates the class number of each independent variable and p is indicative of the number of independent variables [J.R. There are methods that suggest the class numbers of independent variables heuristically. Alternatively, in defining the optimal class number of independent variables, the use of suggested validity criterion for fuzzy clustering has been aimed. In the case that independent variables have an exponential distribution, an algorithm has been suggested for defining the unknown parameter of the switching regression model and for obtaining the estimated values after obtaining an optimal membership function, which is suitable for exponential distribution.  相似文献

A preparative procedure for obtaining a pair of twisted molecular baskets, each comprising a chiral framework with either right ((P)‐ 1 syn) or left ((M)‐ 1 syn) sense of twist and six ester groups at the rim has been developed and optimized. The racemic (P/M)‐ 1 syn can be obtained in three synthetic steps from accessible starting materials. The resolution of (P/M)‐ 1 syn is accomplished by its transesterification with (1R,2S,5R)‐(?)‐menthol in the presence of a TiIV catalyst to give diastereomeric 8 P and 8 M . It was found that dendritic‐like cavitands 8 P and 8 M , in CD2Cl2, undergo self‐inclusion (1H NMR spectroscopy) with a menthol moiety occupying the cavity of each host. Importantly, the degree of inclusion of the menthol group was (1H NMR spectroscopy) found to be greater in the case of 8 P than 8 M . Accordingly, it is suggested that different folding characteristic of 8 P and 8 M ought to affect the physicochemical characteristics of the hosts to permit their effective separation by column chromatography. The absolute configuration of 8 P/ 8 M , encompassing right‐ and left‐handed “cups”, was determined with the exciton chirality method and also verified in silico (DFT: B3LYP/TZVP). Finally, the twisted baskets are strongly fluorescent due to three naphthalene chromophores, having a high fluorescence quantum yield within the rigid framework of 8 P/ 8 M .  相似文献

The bromination reaction of p-benzoquinone-fused norbornadiene was studied at various temperatures (?78, ?50, 0, 25, and 77 °C). At room temperature, the double bonds of the p-benzoquinone units were mainly brominated. The double bond of the norbornene unit also underwent a bromination reaction in a yield of only 2%. However, the reaction at ?78 °C resulted in the formation of products derived from the attack of bromine on the norbornene double bond with higher charge density. In contrast to the bromination reaction, the epoxidation reaction of the same compound with m-chloroperbenzoic acid and dimethyldioxirane exclusively resulted in the formation of products derived from the addition to the double bond of norbornadiene. The regioselectivity observed was investigated and the results were supported by theoretical calculations.  相似文献
