Direct nucleophilic substitution with sodium methanethiolate of the pentafluorophenyl compounds C6F5X (X = Cl, Br, I. NO2, NH2, CO2H, SC6F5, OMe, OH) has given varying amounts of XC6F4(SMe), XC6F3(SMe)2, C6F4(SMe)2, XC6F2(SMe)3 and C6F2(SMe)4. In some cases cleavage of the aromatic carbon-X bond (X = Br, I, CO2H, SC6F5) forming C6F4(SMe)H and C6F2(SMe)3H, and the O-Me bond forming HOC6F2(SMe)3 was observed. The new compounds isolated have been characterized by elemental analyses, infrared and mass spectra and their stereochemistries have been from their 1H and 19F NMR spectra.  相似文献

Abstract— The paraflagellar body (PFB), the putative photoreceptor for phototaxis in the flagellate Euglena gracilis , was isolated still attached to the flagellum. After solubilization the proteins were separated and analyzed by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. To discriminate the PFB-specific proteins from the flagella proteins, flagella without PFB were analyzed, isolated from the flagellate Astasia longa (a chlorophyll-free relative of E. gracilis ), which has no PFB and lacks phototaxis. The absorption spectra of solubilized PFB samples showed a maximum at 415 nm, two shoulders around 380 and 410 nm and two additional small peaks at 515 and 540 nm not present in the control sample without PFB. Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis showed eight PFB-specific proteins with molecular masses in the range of 25000–45000 and isoelectric points in the range of pH 3.5–7. Ultraviolet radiation strongly affects some of these PFB-specific proteins, but also flagella proteins are damaged by UV treatment. There is also a drastic decrease in the PFB-specific absorption maxima after UV irradiation.  相似文献

Abstract— –The presumed photoreceptor for phototaxis, the paraflagellar body, in the flagellate Euglena gracilis , was isolated still attached to the flagellum. After solubilization, fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC) analysis yielded four major protein fractions with the chromophoric groups still attached. Fluorescence spectra showed that three fractions had excitation peaks at 380 nm and emission peaks around 450 nm indicative of pterins, while the fourth chromoprotein had a fluorescence emission at 520 nm and an excitation peak at 450 nm, indicative of a flavin. The separated proteins were analyzed by gel electrophoresis: the pterin binding proteins have apparent molecular masses between 27 000 and 31 600 and the flavin binding protein has an apparent molecular mass of 33 500.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and characterisation of new, highly fluorescent, zinc complexes of bis(thiosemicarbazone) ligands incorporating extended aromatic backbones which are cytotoxic at levels comparable to cisplatin; cellular fluorescence imaging studies suggest these cause cell death by disruption of mitochondria.  相似文献

Behavioral research and prevention intervention science efforts have largely been based on hypotheses of linear or rational behavior change. Additional advances in the field may result from the integration of quantum behavior change and catastrophe models. Longitudinal data from a randomized trial for 1241 pre-adolescents 9-12 years old who self-described as virgin were analyzed. Data for 469 virgins in the control group were included for linear and cusp catastrophe models to describe sexual initiation; data for the rest in the intervention group were added for program effect assessment. Self-reported likelihood to have sex was positively associated with actual initiation of sex (OR = 1.72, 95% CI: 1.43-2.06, R2 = 0.13). Receipt of a behavioral prevention intervention based on a cognitive model prevented 15.6% (33.0% vs. 48.6%, OR = 0.52, 95% CI: 0.24-1.11) of the participants from initiating sex among only those who reported 'very likely to have sex.' The beta coefficients for the cubic term of the usp assessing three bifurcating variables (planning to have sex, intrinsic rewards from sex and self-efficacy for abstinence) were 0.0726, 0.1116 and 0.1069 respectively; R2 varied from 0.49 to 0.54 (p < 0.001 for all). Although an intervention based on a model of continuous behavior change did produce a modest impact on sexual initiation, quantum change has contributed more than continuous change in describing sexual initiation among young adolescents, suggesting the need for quantum change and chaotic models to advance behavioral prevention of HIV/AIDS.  相似文献
