The feasibility of determining aqueous ozone by chemiluminescence flow-injection analysis (CL-FIA) was studied for applications in potable water treatment. The ozonated water sample is injected into a pure water carrier and mixed with a dye reagent in front of a photodetector. Many reagents undergo fast CL reactions with aqueous ozone. Most of these reactions display considerable selectivity for ozone over other oxidants of importance in water treatment. Even when there is steady-state response to another oxidant, significant discrimination against the interferents is possible by taking advantage of the much faster kinetics of the CL reaction with ozone. A simple design of a Siemens-type ozone generator and preparation of standard ozone solutions are also described.  相似文献

The sandwich cell described by Pavon et al. and a similar sandwich cell, except with angled (45 degrees, confocal) single strand optical fibers and a conventional Z-type cell of 6-mm path length have been studied with respect to their performance for absorbance detection. Both sandwich cells show less susceptibility by one order of magnitude to artifact absorbance signals from RI changes than the Z-cell. The light throughput in the sandwich cells increase by an order of magnitude when an inert metallized reflector is used and this improves S/N. The overall light throughput is substantially greater for the angled entrance single strand fiber optic cell rather than the cell with the bifurcated fiber optic. Attainable limits of detection with these cells appear to be related to the pathlength for the cell dimensions studied.  相似文献

We have looked for the decay ηπ0e+e? in an optical spark chamber experiment at the Rutherford Laboratory. Our observations are consistent with no events being seen and give an upper limit rate (ηπ0e+e?)/ rate (ηall) < 4.5 × 10?5 (90% C.L.).  相似文献

In an optical spark chamber experiment we have obtained a sample of 80 eta Dalitz decays (ηe+e?γ) and have measured the eta electromagnetic form factor to be F(X) = 1.0?(0.22 ±0.45)X, where X=Mee2/Mη2, and the branching ratio (ηe+e?γ/(ηπ+π?π0)= (0.0082 ± 0.0020).  相似文献

A convective blender based on a scaled down version of a high shear mixer-granulator was used to produce binary mixtures of microcrystalline cellulose (Avicel) and aspirin, citric acid, aspartame or povidone. Spectra of stationary Avicel or aspirin powder provided an indication of the information depth achieved with the NIR spectrometer used in the study, and confirmed previously reported effects of particle size and wavenumber. However, it was demonstrated that for 10% w/w aspirin in Avicel, the information depth at the C-H second overtone of aspirin (about 2.4 mm) was unaffected by changes in the particle size of aspirin and was determined by the major component. By making non-invasive NIR measurements as powders were mixed, it was possible to illustrate differences in the mixing characteristics of aspirin, citric acid, aspartame or povidone with Avicel, which were related to differences in the cohesive properties of the particles. Mixing profiles based on second overtone signals were better for quantitative analysis than those derived from first overtone measurements. It was also demonstrated that the peak-to-peak noise of the mixing profile obtained from the second overtone of aspirin changed linearly with the particle size of aspirin added to Avicel. Hence, measurement of the mixing profile in real time with NIR spectrometry provided simultaneously the opportunity to study the dynamics of powder mixing, make quantitative measurements and monitor possible changes in particle size during blending.  相似文献

Using a recent construction of Bezrukavnikov and Etingof, [R. Bezrukavnikov, P. Etingof, Induction and restriction functors for rational Cherednik algebras, arXiv: 0803.3639], we prove that there is a factorization of the Etingof–Ginzburg sheaf on the generalized Calogero–Moser space associated to a complex reflection group. In the case W=Sn, this confirms a conjecture of Etingof and Ginzburg, [P. Etingof, V. Ginzburg, Symplectic reflection algebras, Calogero–Moser space, and deformed Harish-Chandra homomorphisms, Invent. Math 147 (2002) 243–348].  相似文献
