In the present paper a procedure is proposed for the determination of traces of Cd, Co, Mn and Cr in petroleum industry produced water by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. The procedure is based on cloud point extraction of these metals, as their dithizonate complexes, into the surfactant-rich phase of octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol surfactant (Triton X-114). Extractions were carried out in solutions with salinities between 10‰ and 70‰. Since residual salinity in the surfactant-rich phase caused differences in its transport to the plasma, yttrium was used as an internal standard to correct for this effect. The simultaneous metal extraction procedure was optimized by response surface methodology using a Doehlert design and desirability function. Enhancement factors of 21, 21, 9 and 19, along with limits of quantification of 0.093, 0.20, 0.73 and 1.2 μg L− 1, and precision expressed as relative standard deviation (n = 8, 20.0 μg L− 1) of 5.8, 1.2, 1.7 and 5.7% were obtained for Cd, Co, Mn and Cr, respectively. The performance of new FTIR-based monitoring technology to representatively determine reaction kinetics has been demonstrated on an example of homogeneously catalyzed liquid-phase sucrose hydrolysis to fructose and glucose. The reaction kinetics were investigated by using the ReactIR 1000 reaction analysis system, which enables determination of the component concentration from its characteristic FTIR spectrum. During the sucrose inversion, the ReactIR 1000 instrument connected to a computer controlled standard glass batch reactor provided the required operating conditions and information about the component concentration in real-time. We have studied the influence of hydrogen ion concentration, temperature and initial concentration of sucrose on the sucrose disappearance rate. It was found out that the inversion of sucrose is an irreversible reaction, which is not affected by the formation of fructose and glucose in the liquid-phase. Then, the parameters of the kinetic model (i.e., reaction rate constant and activation energy) were calculated. A comparison of the model output and the measured data showed that the kinetics of the sucrose inversion could be well described by means of the pseudo first-order kinetic model. Finally, the method of determining the kinetic model by FTIR spectroscopy was verified by comparing the results obtained in the batch reactor with the results obtained in the continuously stirred tank reactor. 相似文献

Temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), oxidation (TPO), and desorption (TPD) studies were performed on three copper-ceria mixed oxide samples having the same nominal composition, Cu0.15Ce0.85O(2-y), but prepared in three different ways: by co-precipitation, the sol-gel peroxide route, and the sol-gel citric acid route. The obtained results reveal that despite a drastic initial drop in specific surface area after consecutive redox cycles, the hydrogen consumption remains constant. This is because CuO is highly dispersed over the surface of CeO2 nanocrystallites and remains highly dispersed even after the agglomeration of CeO2 nanocrystallites in a denser secondary structure. The dispersed CuO is reduced to Cu(0) during the TPR, forming agglomerated metal particles on the surface of partially reduced CeO2. However, after subsequent temperature-programmed oxidation all the Cu(0) is oxidized back into CuO and redispersed over the CeO2 crystallites. 相似文献

A series of cis-{RuCl2(PPh3)2[4,4-(X)2-2,2-bipy]} [cis-chlorines; X=-H, -Me, -SMe, and (-Cl,-Me)] complexes have had their structures determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The geometry of these complexes, also determined in CH2Cl2 solution by 31P{1H}-n.m.r. spectroscopy, showed that the chemical shifts for the phosphorus atoms are slightly dependent on the pKa of the 4,4-(-X)2-2,2-bipy ligands. 相似文献

Different chemical modifiers for use with electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ET AAS) were investigated in relation
to determining the selenium in human urine samples. The samples were diluted in a solution containing 1% v/v HNO3 and 0.02% m/v cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC). Studying the modifiers showed that the use of either Ru or Ir as the
permanent modifier gave low sensitivity to Se and the peak shape was very noisy, while Zr or Rh gave no peak at all. The same
occurred when Zr was used in solution. For mixtures of permanent modifiers, Ir plus Rh or Zr plus Rh gave very low sensitivity,
Zr plus Rh with co-injection of Ir in solution was also not efficient, Zr plus Rh in solution gave good sensitivity, but the
best results were obtained with a mixture of Zr and Rh as the permanent modifier and co-injection of Rh in solution. Using
this last modifier, the following dilutions with the HNO3 and CTAC were studied: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4. The best dilution was 1:1, which promoted good sensitivity and a more defined
peak shape and made it possible to correct for the background using a deuterium arc lamp. Under these conditions, a characteristic
mass of 26±0.2 pg was obtained for Se in aqueous solution. Six certified urine samples were analyzed using matrix matching
calibration and the measured concentrations were in agreement with the certified values, according to a t-test at the 95%
confidence level. Recovery tests were carried out and the recoveries were in the range 100–103%, with relative standard deviation
better than 9%. The limit of detection (LOD, 3 sd, n=10) was 3.0 μg L−1 in the sample. The treated graphite tube could be used for at least 600 atomization cycles without significant alteration

The internal rotation in the HC(?X)YCH2CH3 (X, Y = O or S) series of molecules was studied by the ab initio SCF-MO method using 3-21G and 3-21G + d(ζ = 0.65S) basis sets. Energies and structures of several conformations of these molecules, determined by gradient geometry refinement, are reported and used to assess the effects of oxygen-by-sulphur substitution on molecular properties. The influence of thermal fluctuations on the dynamics of interfacial electron transfer in sensitized TiO2-anatase semiconductors is investigated by combining ab initio DFT molecular dynamics simulations and quantum dynamics propagation of transient electronic excitations. It is shown that thermal nuclear fluctuations speed up the underlying interfacial electron transfer dynamics by introducing nonadiabatic transitions between electron acceptor states, localized in the vicinity of the photoexcited adsorbate, and delocalized states extended throughout the semiconductor material, creating additional relaxation pathways for carrier diffusion. Furthermore, it is shown that room-temperature thermal fluctuations reduce the anisotropic character of charge diffusion along different directions in the anatase crystal and make similar the rates for electron injection from adsorbate states of different character. The reported results are particularly relevant to the understanding of temperature effects on surface charge separation mechanisms in molecular-based photo-optic devices. 相似文献
