Structure of 2-Amino-4-phenyl-9H-pyrimido[4,5-b]indole and Its Nitrate in Crystal and Solution

The crystal structures of 2-amino-4-phenyl-9H-pyrimido[4,5-b]indole and its nitrate were determined by XRD analysis. ¹³C NMR, XRD, and quantum-chemical data indicate that the acid proton is predominantly localized at the N(3) atom of the pyrimidine ring in both isolated nitrate molecules and in molecules in crystal and solution.     

Sesquiterpene Lactones and Flavonoids from <Emphasis Type="Italic">Artemisia albida</Emphasis>

The five known lactones matricarin, austricin, canin, and achillin guaianolides and argolide germacranolide and the two flavonoids eupatilin and its 7-O-methyl ester were isolated for the first time from the aerial part of Artemisia albida Willd. Synthetic Transformations of Higher Terpenoids: IX. Nitrogen-Containing Heterocyclic Compounds on the Basis of Lambertianic Acid

Formation of the pyrroline-N-oxide ring by the reaction of isonitrosoketones with enamines and some conversions of the pyrroline-N-oxides obtained

Compounds containing the pyrroline-N-oxide ring are obtained when isonitrosoketones — 2,6-dihydroxyiminocyclohexanone and -isonitrosoacetophenone — react with enamines. Formation of o-nitrosoalkylaminobenzenes in the reaction of benzofurazan s with alcohols in acidic conditions

Summary In the reaction of benzofurazan with isopropanol cyclohexanol o-nitrosoaalkylaminobenzenes are formed besides 2,2-dialkyl-2H-benzimidazole-oxides. In the instance of 4-aminobenzofurazan only 2-nitroso-3-aklaminoanilines are obtained. 5-Nitrobenzofurazan reacts with isopropranol in sulfuric acid to form 4-nitro-2-nitrosoisopropylaminobenzene; however, in the instance of 4-nitrobenzofurazan derivatives the formation of o-nitrosoalkylaminobenzenes has not been observed.Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk 630090. Reaction of 2-chloro-3-(4-N,N-dimethylaminoanilino)-1,4-naphthoquinone with cyclic amines (piperidine,morpholine, and pyrrolidine)

It was shown that the reaction of 2-chloro-3-(4-N,N-dimethylaminoanilino)-1,4-naphthoquinone with piperidine in the absence of a solvent gives not only a product of replacement of the chlorine atom by a piperidino group, 3-(4-N,N-dimethylaminoanilino)-2-piperidino-1,4-naphthoquinone, but also 2-(4-N,N-dimethylaminoanilino)-1,4-naphthoquinone and 2-(4-N,N-dimethylaminoanilino-2-piperidino)-1,4-naphthoquinone. The latter compounds are the only reaction products formed in dimethyl sulfoxide. The reaction with morpholine occurs in a similar way, whereas that with pyrrolidine gives only a product of replacement of the chlorine atom by hydrogen.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk.
