Constructing a new optical sensor for monitoring ammonia in water samples using bis(acetylacetoneethylendiamine)-tributylphosphin cobalt(III) tetraphenylborate complex-coated triacetylcellulose.

A new ammonia optical sensor was designed using bis(acetylacetoneethylendiamine)tributylphosphin cobalt(III) tetraphenylborate complex, coated on transparent triacetylcellulose film as membrane. The change in the absorbance of the optode at the maximum wavelength of 408 nm was related to ammonia concentration in aqueous samples. A buffer solution with a pH of 9 (sodium borate-HCl) was used. The optode was fully regenerated in pH 2. The linear dynamic range for determination of ammonia was 3.3 x 10(-4) to 6.9 x 10(-3) mol l(-1) with a detection limit of 5.0 x 10(-5) mol l(-1) and a response time range of 4 - 6 min. This membrane was successfully applied for determination of ammonia in drinking water.     

One-pot three-component reaction of isocyanides, dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates and phthalhydrazide: synthesis of highly functionalized 1H-pyrazolo[1,2-b]phthalazine-5,10-diones

Protonation of the highly reactive 1:1 intermediate produced in the reaction between alkyl isocyanides and electron-deficient acetylenic esters with phthalhydrazide, leads to a vinylisonitrilium cation, which undergoes an addition reaction with the conjugate base of the phthalhydrazide to produce dialkyl 3-(alkylamino)-5,10-dioxo-5,10-dihydro-1H-pyrazolo[1,2-b]phthalazine-1,2-dicarboxylates in fairly good yields at room temperature.     

One-pot Three-component Condensation Reactions in Water. An Efficient and Improved Procedure for the Synthesis of Furan Annulated Heterocycles

Summary. The environment-friendly one-pot three-component condensation reactions of 4-hydroxycoumarin or 4-hydroxy-6-methylpyrone, p-substituted benzaldehyde, and alkyl or aryl isocyanides to afford furocoumarines or furopyranones in water in good yields after about one hour at 75°C are reported.

Determination of Tetracycline at a UV‐Irradiated DNA Film Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode

In this study, interaction of tetracycline (TC) and DNA in the Britton? Robinson buffer solution (BR) was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The experimental results reveal that TC can bind strongly to DNA and the association constant and binding number between TC and DNA was obtained. Then DNA was immobilized on a glassy carbon electrode by UV‐irradiation. Through this process, water‐soluble DNA was converted into insoluble materials, and a stable DNA film was formed on the electrode. The electrochemical oxidation behavior of TC was studied at UV‐irradiated DNA film modified glassy carbon electrode (UV‐DNA‐GCE). The response of modified electrode was optimized with respect to pH, accumulation time, ionic strength, drug concentration and other variables. TC at the surface of modified electrode showed a linear dynamic range of 0.30–90.00 µM and a detection limit of 0.27 µM. To demonstrate the applicability of the modified electrode, it was used for the analysis of real samples such as pharmaceutical formulations and milk.     

Simultaneous Voltammetric Determination of Captopril and Hydrochlorothiazide on a Graphene/Ferrocene Composite Carbon Paste Electrode

In this work, a voltammetric method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of captopril (CPT) and hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) in pharmaceutical combinations and clinical samples using a graphene/ferrocene composite carbon paste (GR/Fc/CP) electrode. The electrochemical behaviors of CPT and HCT were individually and simultaneously investigated at the surface of the GR/Fc/CP electrode. In differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) mode and under optimized experimental conditions, CPT and HCT gave linear responses over the concentration ranges 1.0–430 µM and 0.5–390 µM (r²>0.99), respectively. The prepared electrode could be used for simultaneous determination of CPT and HCT in some real samples.
