Spectrofluorimetric determination of guanethidine sulphate,guanfacine hydrochloride,guanoclor sulphate and guanoxan sulphate in tablets and biological fluids,using benzoin

A sensitive and rapid Spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of guanethidine sulphate, guanfacine hydrochloride, guanoclor sulphate and guanoxan sulphate in tablets and spiked human serum and urine samples is described. The method is based on the reaction of monosubstituted guanidino compounds in an aqueous potassium hydroxide solution with benzoin, in the presence of -mercaptoethanol and sodium sulphite. Highly fluorescent derivatives were obtained, with excitation and emission maximum wavelengths around 325 and 430 nm, respectively. In optimal reaction conditions, the linearity ranges were 0.04–0.28 g/ml, with relative standard deviations less than 2%. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of these drugs in tablets. The results are highly correlated with the B.P. method. Chloroform (or for guanoxan dichloromethane) was used to extract the drugs from serum and urine at basic pH, followed by the proposed fluorimetric method. The limit of detection is 0.02 g/ml for the selected drugs.     

The convolution of Gaussian absorption curves

Summary The convolution of Gaussian absorption curves using orthogonal polynomials has been studied. An absorption curve can usually be considered as a sum of Gaussian curves. The p₂-convoluted log A versus curve is independent of concentration and path-length and the optimum coefficient can be used as an index of purity for absorbing compounds.

Zusammenfassung Die Transformation von Gaußschen Absorptionskurven unter Verwendung von Orthogonalpolynomen wurde untersucht, denn in der Regel kann eine Absorptionskurve als Summe von Gauß-Kurven betrachtet werden. Der quadratische Polynomkoeffizient aus log A gegen ist unabhängig von Konzentration und Schichtdicke und kann als Reinheitsindex benutzt werden.

     

Determination of mebendazole

Direct and indirect non-aqueous titrimetric methods for the determination of mebendazole are presented. These methods are reproducible, with relative standard deviations of 0.3%. Mebendazole in tablets (100 mg per tablet) has also been determined spectrophotometrically with use of perchloric acid as solvent. The relative standard deviation was 1.4%. The methods are easy to automate for routine analysis.     

HETEROCYCLIZATION OF AMINOTHIAZOLES

Several new 2-arylidinoamino-4-(3-coumaryl)thiazole derivatives were synthesized via the reaction of 2-amino-4-(coumaryl)thiazole with aromatic aldehydes and other reagents. Structural elucidations were based on elementary analysis and spectral data studies.     

Efficient and green syntheses of novel γ-aminophosphonate and phosphine oxide derivatives

Two synthetic protocols leading to novel γ-aminophosphonate and phosphine oxide derivatives, by reductive amination of γ-phosphonylketones, are reported. The first method involved a two-step procedure. Imine intermediates were first isolated from the p-toluenesulfonic acid-catalyzed reaction of primary amines with γ-ketophosphonates and phosphine oxides, then reduced with NaBH₄ in refluxing ethanol. The second method consists of a one-pot procedure which includes the condensation of γ-ketophosphonates and phosphine oxides with primary amines, in the presence of molecular sieves, followed by reduction with NaBH₄. These methods offer significant advantages over prior reports, such as efficiency, generality, and good yields. Furthermore, they are green protocols avoiding hazardous hydrides and solvents.     

Measures of noncompactness and essential pseudospectra on Banach space

In this research article, we work with the notion of the measures of noncompactness in order to establish some results concerning the essential pseudospectra of closed, densely defined linear operators in the Banach space. We start by giving a refinement of the definition of the essential pseudospectra by means of the measure of noncompactness, and we give sufficient conditions on the perturbed operator to have its invariance. Dual topology of the Heisenberg motion groups

Let ? _n be the (2n + 1)-dimensional Heisenberg group, and let T ⁿ be the n-dimensional torus acting on ? _n by automorphisms. In this paper, we describe the space of admissible coadjoint orbits of the Heisenberg motion group G _n = T ⁿ ? ? _n and we determine the topology of this space. We show that the bijection between the unitary dual ? _n of G _n and its admissible coadjoint orbit space is a homeomorphism.     

On the existence of semifields of prime power order admitting free automorphism groups

The purpose of this paper is to prove the existence of semifields of order q ⁴ for any odd prime power q = p^r, q > 3, admitting a free automorphism group isomorphic to Z ₂ × Z ₂.     

A Spectrophotometric Method for the Determination of Buclizine Hydrochloride Using the Charge-Transfer Spectrum of Buclizine-Iodine Complex

Abstract

A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method is described for the determination of buclizine hydrochloride in bulk and tablets form. The method is based on the formation of charge-transfer complex between buclizine, as n-donor, and iodine, as Δ acceptor, which measured spectrophotometrically at 295 and 355 nm. A Job's plot indicated a 1:1 complex between the drug and iodine and Beer's law was obeyed in a concentration range of 4–30 μg ml^?1. A more detailed investigation of the complex was made with respect to its association constant and the free energy change. The method is simple and sensitive and has been applied successfully to the analysis of laboratory-made tablets without any interference from the tablet excipients. To validate the method, the results obtained were compared statistically with a newly developed uv-derivative spectrophotometric method. The charge-transfer method was favored due to its higher sensitivity, cheap coast and available equipments.
