Balanophora involucrata J. D. Hooker has been known to possess potential anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities; however, its antiviral activity has not been evaluated so far. In order to find new neuraminidase inhibitors (NAIs), the neuraminidase (NA) inhibition activity of different B. involucrata extracts was evaluated. In this study, an in vitro NA inhibition assay was performed to identify which extract of B. involucrata exhibits (maximal) inhibitory activity against NA. Ultra high performance liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight–tandem mass spectroscopy (MS/MS) and molecular docking techniques were used to identify the specific compounds responsible for the anti-influenza activity of the extract, and to explore the potential natural NAIs. The ethyl acetate extract of B. involucrata exhibited significant inhibitory activity against NA with 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50) value of 159.5 μg/mL. Twenty compounds were identified according to the MS/MS spectra; among them two compounds (quercitrin and phloridzin) showed obvious inhibitory activity against NA, with IC50 of 311.76 and 347.32 μmol/L, respectively. This study suggested that B. involucrata can be a potential natural source of NAIs and may be useful in the fight against ferocious influenza viruses.  相似文献

Saturation properties of the dyes in the presence of excited-state absorption and amplified spontaneous emission in the dye are studied theoretically. In the analysis the above two effects are included separately and it is shown that they are deleterious to the pulse-shortening capabilities of the dyes. It is also shown that in the conventional single-pass shortening of laser pulses with saturable dyes large pulse shortening ratios (20) may be expected if the dye saturation is combined with a properly delayed dye generation.  相似文献

A detailed model for nonisothermal sorption of multicomponent mixtures in a single sorbent particle (monodisperse or bidisperse with negligible intracrystalline mass transport limitations) under pressure swing conditions is developed in this study. The dusty-gas model is used to describe the coupling of the molar fluxes, the temperature, the partial pressures and the partial pressure gradients of the components in the pore space of the particle. The variations of the temperature are described by an energy equation in which both convective and conductive modes of heat transport are accounted for. No limitations are imposed on the number of the components in the mixture and on the type of the adsorption isotherm. The model is applied in the investigation of the industrially important air-zeolite 5A system. Two cases with respect to the surrounding gas phase are examined: infinite environment, which is representative for single particle experiments, and finite environment, which is representative for the situation in packed bed adsorbers. It is found that in an infinite environment the external and internal temperature gradients are equally important while in a finite environment the external heat transport limitations are negligible. It is concluded that in modeling the nonisothermal operation of adsorption processes occurring in packed beds it is not necessary to allow for the temperature differences between the gas phase and the surface of the adsorbing particles. Furthermore, if the temperature gradients within the particles can be neglected, only a single temperature equation is needed to describe the energy transport in the bed.  相似文献

Cadmium selenide quantum dots with cubic crystal structure are chemically deposited in thin film form using selenosulfate as a precursor for selenide ions and ammonia buffer with double role: as a ligand and as a pH value controller. The optical band gap energies of as-deposited and thermally treated cadmium selenide thin films, calculated within the framework of parabolic approximation for the dispersion relation, on the basis of equations which arise from the Fermi's golden rule for electronic transitions from valence to conduction band, are 2.08 and 1.77 eV, correspondingly. The blue shift of band gap energy of 0.34 eV for as-deposited thin films with respect to the bulk value is due to the quantum size effects (i.e., nanocrystals behave as quantum dots) and this finding is in agreement with the theoretical predictions. During the thermal treatment the nanocrystals are sintered, the increase of crystal size being in correlation with the decrease of band gap energy. The annealed thin films are practically non-quantized. From the resistance-temperature measurements, on the basis of the dependence of ln(R/Ω) vs 1/T in the region of intrinsic conduction, the thermal band gap energy (at 0 K) of 1.85 eV was calculated.  相似文献

Highly textured single-oriented (110)Nd-doped potassium gadolinium tungstate [Nd:KGd(WO4)2 or Nd:KGW] thin films were successfully fabricated on (100)Si substrate by introducing a (100)CeO2 buffer layer using KrF-excimer-laser pulsed laser deposition (PLD) at precisely controlled experimental conditions. The CeO2 buffer layer was also prepared by PLD. Home-made potassium-enriched ceramic targets were prepared and used in order to prevent K deficiency in the film during the deposition. Depositions were performed in both Ar and O2 environments. The optimal growing conditions achieved from the viewpoint of best crystallinity, optical properties and surface morphology were: dT–S=4 cm, P(O2)=0.08 mbar and Tsub=700 °C, respectively. Improvement of the properties of the as-grown films was examined by post-deposition annealing between 700 °C and 900 °C in air.
