Two series (S and F) of poly p-isopropyl α-methylstyrene were characterized by viscometry, light scattering (LS), osmometry and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). S-samples were prepared by bulk anionic polymerization whereas F-samples were obtained on fractionation by preparative GPC of a polymer also prepared in bulk but with a different initiator. The K parameter in the Mark-Houwink relation was 5.55 × 10?4 for series-S and 4.50 × 10?4 for series-F, whereas the exponent a was 0.55 for both series. The Mark-Houwink equations for series-S and -F hold good at 25 and 30° for both toluene and tetrahydrofuran as solvents and have been corrected for polydispersity. The chain dimensions obtained with LS were much higher than those computed from the viscosity data indicating that the hydrodynamic theories in their present state should not be used for the calculation of chain dimensions. The deviations from the GPC universal calibration curve of polystyrene observed with some samples were attributed to structural differences among the polymers and to their high polydispersity.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the problem of making inferences on the common mean of several normal populations when sample sizes and population variances are possibly unequal. We are mainly concerned with testing hypothesis and constructing confidence interval for the common normal mean. Several researchers have considered this problem and many methods have been proposed based on the asymptotic or approximation results, generalized inferences, and exact pivotal methods. In addition, Chang and Pal (Comput Stat Data Anal 53:321–333, 2008) proposed a parametric bootstrap (PB) approach for this problem based on the maximum likelihood estimators. We also propose a PB approach for making inferences on the common normal mean under heteroscedasticity. The advantages of our method are: (i) it is much simpler than the PB test proposed by Chang and Pal (Comput Stat Data Anal 53:321–333, 2008) since our test statistic is not based on the maximum likelihood estimators which do not have explicit forms, (ii) inverting the acceptance region of test yields a genuine confidence interval in contrast to some exact methods such as the Fisher’s method, (iii) it works well in terms of controlling the Type I error rate for small sample sizes and the large number of populations in contrast to Chang and Pal (Comput Stat Data Anal 53:321–333, 2008) method, (iv) finally, it has higher power than recommended methods such as the Fisher’s exact method.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate two new classes of torsion-free Abelian groups which arise in a natural way from the notion of a torsion-free Crawley group. A group G is said to be an Erd?s group if for any pair of isomorphic pure subgroups H,K with G/H ? G/K, there is an automorphism of G mapping H onto K; it is said to be a weak Crawley group if for any pair H,K of isomorphic dense maximal pure subgroups, there is an automorphism mapping H onto K. We show that these classes are extensive and pay attention to the relationship of the Baer-Specker group to these classes. In particular, we show that the class of Crawley groups is strictly contained in the class of weak Crawley groups and that the class of Erd?s groups is strictly contained in the class of weak Crawley groups.  相似文献

The effect of replacing the anion from N to Bi down the group in the periodic table is investigated on SrMg_2X_2(X = N,P,As,Sb,Bi).A full potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbitals method is used along with different exchange–correlation potentials to obtain the lattice constants,phonons,electronic,and optical properties of the Sr Mg_2X_2(X = N,P,As,Sb,Bi) Zintl compounds.A good agreement is achieved and our calculations are validated by previous experimental and theoretical data.All compounds have shown stable dynamical behavior with gamma centered longitudinal response having no imaginary frequencies.Electronic band structures reveal the semiconducting nature of the compounds.The Pnictogen(X)-p state contributed mainly in the valence band and the Sr-d state forms the conduction of the compounds.Relative charge transfer and low overlapping of the atomic densities indicates the preferable ionic bonding character of these materials.In the optical properties,real and imaginary parts of dielectric function,complex refractive index,birefringence,reflectivity,and optical conductivity are calculated.These compounds can be utilized in the optical and optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

Alangium salviifolium root was screened for phytochemical and anti-inflammatory properties. The percentage inhibition of carrageenan induced paw oedema was studied in rats. Alangium salvifolium gave maximum extractive values with Ethanol and the Loss on Drying value, total ash value and acid-insoluble ash and water soluble ash values were within limits. The extract gave positive tests for phytosterols, triterpenes, flavonoids, carbohydrates and alkaloids. The extract was free from glycosides, saponins, tannins, proteins and amino acids. In acute toxicity studies, Alangium salviifolium root extract was found to be safe up to 3000?mg?kg?1, p.o. in the albino rats. The Alangium salviifolium root gave significant per cent inhibition of the maximal paw oedema and very highly significant per cent inhibition of total paw oedema during 6?h. This study revealed that Alangium salviifolium root has good anti-inflammatory actions when compared with Diclofenac sodium.  相似文献

This study aimed to investigate CO2 absorption using chemical solvent of amine H2O-TEA-CO2 in presence of activated carbon (AC) particles. The studied experimental range includes the temperature in range of 293–333 K, pressure in range of 3.5–9.5 bar, the concentration of solvents in range of 2.5–8.5 wt%, and amount of activated carbon in range of 0.3–0.9 kg/m3. The central composite design (CCD) with four parameters of temperature, pressure, amine concentration, and active carbon was applied in 5 levels. The physical solubility CO2 in amine solutions decreases with the increasing temperature that indicates the process is exothermic. The optimal values of temperature, pressure, concentration, and active carbon are 303.0 K, 8.00 bar, 7.00 M, 0.75 g, respectively, and 25.99% for the input variables and desirability index of 0.732. The CO2 loading, absorption capacity, and absorption percentage are obtained in the range of 0.572–1.180 molCO2/molTEA, 0.208–0.506 wt%, and 12.73–32.61% in Triethanolamine (TEA) solutions in activated carbon, respectively. All dependent variables had a p value of less than 0.05, indicating that models were significant and substantial. The result showed that the addition of solid particles to chemical solvents effectively enhances CO2 absorption.

A simple and practical preconcentration method using cloud point approach is proposed for the extraction and preconcentration of Cu (II). The analyte in the initial aqueous solution, acidified with HCl, is complexed with O,O-diethyldithiophosphate and Triton X-100 is added as a surfactant. After phase separation at 40°C based on cloud point of the mixture and dilution of the surfactant-rich phase with methanol, the enriched analyte is determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry using conventional nebulization and the analytical wavelength used is 324.8 nm. The variables affecting the complexation and extraction steps were optimized. Under optimum conditions, preconcentration of 10 ml of sample in the presence of 0.1% (v/v) Triton X-100 permitted the detection of 0.94 ng ml−1 of Cu. Analytical graphs were rectilinear in the concentration range of 5-200 ng ml−1 and relative standard deviations were lower than 3%. The method affords recoveries in the range 97-101%. The method was successfully applied to the determination of Cu in drinking and rainwater, serum and human hair samples.  相似文献
