Because of the relative smallness of each basin (mostly smaller than 3000 km~2), less attention hasbeen paid to the Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous fault basins in Northeast China. However, the discovery oflarge coal deposits and oil in commercial quantities in the last ten years shows that these basins are greatpotential sources of energy. A vast basin system, the Northeast Asia Fault Basin System, consisting ofmore than 100 late Mesozoic fault basins has now been recognized. In addition, there are many othercontemporaneous basins in the east of the People's Republic of Mongolia and in the region east of LakeBaikal. They may be half grabens, grabens, and compound fault basins made up of a number of sub-basins, all belonging to the same basin system with a clear zonation. The direction, geometry and distri-bution of the basins were determined by the pre-existing fault network and the tectonic stress field. 本文论证了分布于中国东北部、苏联外贝加尔地区和蒙古人民共和国东部的晚侏罗世至早白垩世断陷盆地属于同一个盆地系,这一盆地系可分四个带,盆地的形成和分布受控于先存断裂网络、裂陷作用期的构造应力场和深部因素。板块相互作用引起的中国大陆内部应力场的巨大变化可能是深部过程的触发因素。  相似文献
