A scheme for teleporting an arbitrary and unknown three-particle state from a sender to either one of two receivers is proposed. The quantum channel is composed of a two-particle non-maximally entangled state and two three-particle non-maximally entangled W states. An arbitrary three-particle state can be perfectly teleported probabilistically if the sender performs three generalized Bell-state measurements and sends to the two receivers the classical result of these measurements, and either one of the two receivers adopts an appropriate unitary transformation conditioned on the suitable measurement outcomes of the other receiver. We propose a scheme for the preparation of one-dimensional andtwo-dimensional cluster states by using hot trapped ions. The schemeis based on the interaction between two ions and bichromaticradiation. The vibrational mode in our protocol is only virtuallyexcited so that the system is insensitive to the thermal field. This paper proposes a scheme for the implementation of 1→ 3 optimal phase-covariant quantum cloning with trapped ions. In the present protocol, the required time for the whole procedure is short due to the resonant interaction, which is important in view of decoherence. We propose a scheme to implement the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm by using Schroedinger cat states in cavity quantum electron-dynamics (QED). The scheme is based on the Raman interaction of a degenerate three-level A-type atom with a coherent state in a cavity. We present two schemes for realizing the remote preparation of aGreenberger--Horne--Zeilinger (GHZ) state. The first scheme is to remotelyprepare a general N-particle GHZ state with two steps. One is to prepare a qubitstate by using finite classical bits from sender to receiver via atwo-particle entangled state, and the other is that the receiver introducesN - 1 additional particles and performs N - 1 controlled-not (C-Not)operations. The second scheme is to remotely prepare an N-atom GHZ state viaa two-atom entangled state in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED).
