This paper presents a new hybrid laser-cutting method for producing fracture test specimens from thermosetting materials. The hybrid approach combines casting of a sheet of material with subsequent laser-cutting of the test specimens. The new approach was compared to the traditional casting method using a fracture toughness test. For this study, a compact version of the tapered double cantilever beam (cTDCB) was used as a specimen geometry for both manufacturing methods. The cTDCB specimen is crack length independent, and crack length investigations were performed to ensure the crack length independence of the cTDCB specimens. The specimens that were made by the hybrid laser-cut method were found to be comparable to the specimens obtained by the traditional casting method. Moreover, the laser-cut method provides a fast and accurate method to make a significant number of samples in a reasonable time. Aim of this paper is the response evaluation of fractional visco-elastic Euler–Bernoulli beam under quasi-static and dynamic loads. Starting from the local fractional visco-elastic relationship between axial stress and axial strain, it is shown that bending moment, curvature, shear, and the gradient of curvature involve fractional operators. Solution of particular example problems are studied in detail providing a correct position of mechanical boundary conditions. Moreover, it is shown that, for homogeneous beam both correspondence principles also hold in the case of Euler–Bernoulli beam with fractional constitutive law. Virtual work principle is also derived and applied to some case studies. 相似文献

We conducted dynamic and quasi-static compression experiments with low-density (ρ = 120 kg/m3) epoxy foam specimens. The specimens had a 10.0-mm-square cross-section and a length of 19.3 mm. Dynamic experiments were
conducted with a modified split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB), and the quasi-static experiments were conducted with a hydraulic
load frame device (MTS-810). In both cases, the specimens were loaded from one end at a constant velocity. Equally spaced
grid lines were marked on the specimens to monitor the deformation history. Digital images taken at equally spaced time intervals
gave the positions of each grid line. These images showed that a constant end-face velocity V produced a compaction wave front that traveled at a constant velocity C in both dynamic and quasi-static experiments. We described these results with a shockwave analysis that used a locking solid

To simulate fracture behaviors in concrete more realistically, a theoretical analysis on the potential question in the quasi-static method is presented, then a novel algorithm is proposed which takes into account the inertia effect due to unstable crack propagation and meanwhile requests much lower computational efforts than purely dynamic method. The inertia effect due to load increasing becomes less important and can be ignored with the loading rate decreasing, but the inertia effect due to unstable crack propagation remains considerable no matter how low the loading rate is. Therefore, results may become questionable if a fracture process including unstable cracking is simulated by the quasi-static procedure excluding completely inertia effects. However, it requires much higher computational effort to simulate experiments with not very high loading rates by the dynamic method. In this investigation which can be taken as a natural continuation, the potential question of quasi-static method is analyzed based on the dynamic equations of motion. One solution to this question is the new algorithm mentioned above. Numerical examples are provided by the generalized beam (GB) lattice model to show both fracture processes under different loading rates and capability of the new algorithm. 相似文献

In this article, we study the plasmonic resonance of infinite photonic crystal mounted by the double negative nanoparticles in two dimensions. The corresponding physical model is described by the Helmholz equation with so called Bloch wave condition in a periodic domain. By using the quasi-periodic layer potential techniques and the spectral theorem of quasi-periodic Neumann–Poincaré operator, the quasi-static expansion of the near field in the presence of nanoparticles is derived. Furthermore, when the magnetic permeability of nanoparticles satisfies the Drude model, we give the conditions under which the plasmonic resonance occurs, and the rate of blow up of near field energy with respect to nanoparticle's bulk electron relaxation rate and filling factor are also obtained. It indicates that one can appropriately control the bulk electron relaxation rate or filling factor of nanoparticle in photonic crystal structure such that the near field energy attains its maximum, and enhancing the efficiency of energy utilization. 相似文献

This paper discusses the convergence of kinetic variational inequalities to rate-independent quasi-static variational inequalities. Mathematical formulations as well as existence and uniqueness results for kinetic and rate-independent quasi-static problems are provided. Sharp a priori estimates for the kinetic problem are derived that imply that the kinetic solutions converge to the rate-independent ones, when the size of initial perturbations and the rate of application of the forces tend to 0. An application to three-dimensional elastic-plastic systems with hardening is given. 相似文献

An inverse problem of transient heat conduction in a thin finite circular plate with the given temperature distribution on the interior surface of a thin circular plate being a function of both time and position has been solved with the help of integral transform technique and also determine the thermal deflection on the outer curved surface of a thin circular plate defined as 0 ? r ? a, 0 ? z ? h. A method for determining quadruple points of a two-component system containing a simple hydrate phase is proposed. This method utilizes the quasi-static change of the system along three-phase equilibrium lines and was proved to be able to determine the quadruple points as accurately as the conventional method. By using this method, even though some preparation is necessary, a quadruple point can be determined in just a single experimental run. The behavior of the system near the quadruple points was also examined experimentally, for both the quasi-static and the irreversible change cases. At the quadruple points, the temperature and pressure of the system were kept constant for a while, as at the triple point of water. In both cases, the representative point of the state of the system passed through the quadruple point on a p–T diagram. 相似文献

We study a time dependent eddy current equation for the magnetic field H accompanied with a nonlinear boundary condition, which is a generalization of the classical Silver–Müller condition for a non-perfect conductor. More exactly, the relation between the normal components of electric (E) and magnetic (H ) fields obeys the following power law (linearized for small and large values) ν×E=ν×(|H×ν|α−1H×ν) for some α∈(0,1]. We design a linear fully discrete approximation scheme to solve this nonlinear problem. The convergence of the approximations to a weak solution is proved, error estimates describing the dependence of the error on discretization parameters are derived as well. The efficiency of the proposed method is supported by numerical experiments. 相似文献
