Photodiode-Based Chua＇s Circuit with Light Controllability

We present a photodiode-based Chua＇s chaotic circuit that is controllable by light. The proposed circuit consists of an inductor, two passive capacitors, a photodiode-based variable resistor, and a positive feedback trans- conductor with negative nonlinearity. The chaotic dynamics of the circuit were verified by using the simulation program with integrated circuit emphasis analysis using the 0.35 #m complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor process parameters. The gain results （such as the time waveform~ frequency analysis, three-dimensional attractor, bifurcation and Lyapunov exponents diagrams） confirm that the chaotic behavior of the circuit could be controlled by light intensity via the photodiode-based variable resistor.

Nanoscale Thermal Response in ZnO Varistors by Atomic Force Microscopy

We report the application of customer-built scanning thermal microscopy （SThM） based on a commercial atomic force microscope to investigate local thermal inhomogeneity of ZnO varistors. The so-called 3ω method, generally used for measuring macroscale thermal conductivity, is set up and integrated with an atomic force microscope to probe the nanoseale thermal property. Remarkably, thermal contrasts of ZnO varistors are firstly imaged by the SThM, indicating the uniform distribution of spinel phases at triple points. The frequency-dependent thermal signal of ZnO varistors is also studied to present quantitative evaluation of local thermal conductivity of the sample.     

Design of internal Brewster guided-mode resonance filter

An internal Brewster guided-mode resonance （GMR） filter is designed. For this kind of GMR filter, the Brewster reflection occurs at the interface of grating/waveguide layers rather than at the interface of air/grating layers. At Brewster angle of 60~, the GMR filter owns almost 100% reflection at the resonance wavelength of 800 nm with the full-width at half-maximum （FWHM） of 0.2 nm. Its angle response changing with the fabrication deviation is also discussed.

一、引言滑线电阻器,是物理、电工实验中最常用的器件。在实验时,通常把它当作分压器,用来取出一部分电压,还可用作限流,以改变电路中的电流大小。在工业上,它是自动平衡电桥、自动电子电位差计中的重要调节元件,以及还用于自动控制系统中的给定部分等。绕线式滑动电阻器事实上要比碳膜式的精度高。但是,由于结构上的原因,它还是存在误差的。本文拟就其存在的两种误差作一探讨。

Effect of Tunneling Current on Schottky Barrier Height in ZnO Varistors at Low Temperature

On the basis of the Schottky barrier and thermionic emission models, the temperature dependence of barrier height in ZnO varistors is investigated by the I - V characteristics in a wide temperature range from 93 K to 373 K. The obtained barrier height decreases with reducing temperature, which is ascribed to the contribution of tunneling current in measured current. From the proposed equivalent circuit, it is suggested that two current components coexist. One is thermionic emission current, which reflects the thermionic emission barrier height. The other is tunneling current, which appears even at low voltage, especially in low temperature ranges, and thus makes the barrier height obtained from measured current vary with temperature.
