Spacer-equipped dimers and trimers of the repeating units of the capsular polysaccharide of Haemophilus influenzae type c, -4)-3-O-Ac-beta-D-GlcpNAc-(1-->3)-alpha-D-Galp-(1-OPO(3-)-, and type f, -3)-beta-D-GalpNAc-(1-->4)-3-O-Ac-alpha-D-GalpNAc-(1-OPO(3-)-, have been synthesized for use in immunological studies. H-Phosphonate chemistry was used for the formation of the interglycosidic phosphate diester linkages. Two types of building blocks, a spacer glycoside disaccharide starting monomer (15 and 22) and an anomeric monoester alpha-H-phosphonate disaccharide elongating monomer (12 and 27), were built up for each serotype structure from properly protected monosaccharide precursors using mainly thioglycosides as glycosyl donors. Stereospecificity in the formation of the alpha-linked monoester H-phosphonate was possible in type c through crystallization of the pure alpha-anomer of the precursor hemiacetal from an alpha/beta-mixture, whereas in type f, the hemiacetal was isolated directly as exclusively the alpha-anomer. Subsequent phosphonylation using triimidazolylphosphine was performed without anomerization. Formation of the anomeric phosphate diester linkages was performed using pivaloyl chloride as coupling reagent followed by I(2)/H(2)O oxidation of the formed diester H-phosphonates. Original experiments afforded no diester product at all, but optimization of the oxidation conditions (lowering the temperature and dilution with pyridine prior to I(2) addition) gave the dimers in good yields (71% and 81%) and, subsequently, after removal of a temporary silyl protecting group in the dimers, the trimers in fair yields (36% and 37%), accompanied by hydrolysis of the dimer phosphate linkage. One-step deprotection through catalytic hydrogenolysis efficiently afforded the target dimer (30 and 36) and trimer structures (32 and 39). Photochemical properties of photoinduced ω-bond dissociation in p-phenylbenzoylbenzyl phenyl sulfide (PPS) having the lowest triplet state (T1) of π,π* character in solution were investigated by time-resolved EPR and laser flash photolysis techniques. PPS was found to undergo photoinduced ω-bond cleavage in the excited lowest singlet state (S1(n,π*)) with a quantum yield (Φrad) of 0.15 for the radical formation, which was independent of excitation wavelengths. Based on the facts of the observation of the absorption spectrum of triplet PPS upon triplet sensitization of xanthone, and absence of CIDEP signal, ω-cleavage was shown to be absent in the T1(π,π*) state of PPS. Considering the electronic character of the excited and dissociative states of PPS, a schematic energy diagram for the ω-bond dissociation of PPS was shown. 相似文献

The observation of optical second harmonic generation (SHG) from wetspun films of Na-DNA is reported. The SHG signal is stronger at a relative humidity of 92% (corresponding to the B conformation of Na-DNA) than at low humidity of -33% (corresponding to a disordered conformation of Na-DNA). The strength of the SHG signal is also dependent on the orientation of the incident laser beam polarization with respect to the DNA helical axes. 相似文献

A simple method for determining glycol in deicing/anti-icing fluids has been developed. The method uses a single line FIA system with detection based on Schlieren optics. The concentration range was 0-5% glycol and the limit of detection was 0.05%. Samples were preferably pumped at a flow rate of 0.7 ml/min and 100 mul of distilled water was injected (reverse FIA). Detection was accomplished with an 18 mul spectrophotometric flow cell at a wavelength of 410 nm. The conduit connecting the injector and the detector was 10 cm long and had an inner diameter of 0.5 mm. The traditional FIA approach can also be applied, i.e. injection of samples into a carrier of water, but the linear working range is narrower in comparison to the reverse FIA method. Formation of H-phosphonothioate diesters via condensation of H-phosphonate monoesters with a hydroxylic component in the presence of various coupling agents and possible side reactions that may accompany this process were studied using (31)P NMR spectroscopy. The synthesis of the octasaccharide [p-(trifluoroacetamido)phenyl]ethyl 4-O-[2-O-(2-acetamido-2-deoxy-alpha-D-glucopyranosyl)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-6-O-[2-O-[4-O-(4-O-alpha-D-galactopyranosyl-beta-D-galactopyranosyl)-alpha-D-glucopyranosyl]-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-alpha-D-glucopyranoside, representing the outer part of the lipooligosaccharide from Moraxella catarrhalis serotype A, is described, together with a hepta-, a hexa-, and a pentasaccaride, composing parts thereof with shorter oligosaccharide chains substituted in the 6-position of the central 3,4,6-branched glucose moiety. The versatility of the use of thioglycosides in oligosaccharide synthesis is shown, since throughout the synthesis thioglycosides are used as glycosyl donor precursors, either directly in dimethyl(methylthio)sulfonium triflate (DMTST)-promoted coupling reactions or after conversion to the corresponding glycosyl bromide in silver triflate-promoted couplings. The effects of different protecting groups, anomeric leaving groups, and solvents used in the various coupling reactions are often substantial, which necessitates the use of easily convertible intermediates. 相似文献

The phases occurring in samples of gross composition BaxWO3 (0.01 < x < 0.33) heated at temperatures between 1073 and 1373°K have been determined using X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. At all temperatures a tetragonal tungsten bronze phase with a narrow homogeneity range of x = 0.20?0.21 was observed to form. In addition, at temperatures up to 1273°K, a series of orthorhombic intergrowth bronzes forms within a restricted composition range around x = 0.04. The latter phases are unstable at higher temperatures and were not found in preparations made at 1323°K. Similarly a new type of bronze phase forms at x = 0.14?0.16 at temperatures up to 1323°K, but not at 1373°K. The structure of this phase is unknown. Aspects of the crystal chemistry of the barium bronzes and the relationships to other bronze phases are discussed. 相似文献

Six adducts of the tctrakis(8-hydroxyquinolinato) complex of thorium(IV) with 8-hydroxyquinoline, pyridine, urea, dimethylsulphoxide, dimethylformamide and 1,10-phenanthroline were prepared and characterized, the infrared bands for the room-temperature forms are given and their particular thermal properties are reported. The thermal analyses were performed mostly in the presence of air, but in some cases an argon atmosphere was used for comparison. The adducts were lost from the principal complex at temperatures varying between 110 and 290°. Intermediate oxygenated complexes were formed in each case at about 400°. The thermal data suggest the standardization of a procedure for the formation of Th(C9H6NO)4.

Zusammenfassung Sechs Addukte des Tetrakis(8-hydroxyquinolinato)-Komplexes von Thorium(IV) mit 8-Hydroxyquinolin, Pyridin, Harnstoff, Dimethylsulphoxid, Dimethylformamid und 1,10-Phenanthrolin wurden dargestellt und charakterisiert. Infrarotbanden und spezielle thermische Eigenschaften der Raumtemperatur-Formen sind angegeben. Die thermischen Analysen wurden meist in Luft ausgeführt, in einigen Fällen zu Vergleichszwecken aber auch in Argonatmosphäre. Die Addukte wurden vom Komplex bei Temperaturen zwischen 110 und 290 °C abgegeben. Intermediäre oxydierte Komplexe wurden in jedem Fall bei etwa 400 °C gebildet. Die thermischen Daten ermöglichen die Standardisierung eines Verfahrens zur Darstellung von Th(C9H6NO)4.

Two complex lanthanide(III) transition metal(II) tellurium(IV) oxyhalides, Cu3Yb2(TeO3)4Cl4 and Cu3Yb3(TeO3)4Cl6 have been synthesized and the crystal structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Both compounds are layered with only weak connections in between the layers. The layers are made up of [YbO8], [TeO3] and [CuOxCly] polyhedra. In both compounds the strong Lewis acid cations Yb3+ and Te4+ only form bonds to oxygen while Cu2+ form bonds to both oxygen and chlorine. This leads the Cl? ions to be expelled from the bonding volumes of the crystal structures and protrude from the layers. Magnetic susceptibility measurements were performed on a powder sample of Cu3Yb2(TeO3)4Cl4. The Curie–Weiss law found at low temperatures indicates a Curie–Weiss temperature of ca. ?5(1) K. However, indication for long-range magnetic ordering could not be observed down to 1.87 K. The two new phases are to the best of our knowledge the first containing all three of Cu, Yb and Te. 相似文献
