An electromagnetically induced grating in a four-level tripod-type atomic system is studied theoretically. By virtue of a weak standing-wave signal field, the phase modulation effectively diffracts a weak probe field into the first-order direction. By changing the weak signal field, the diffraction of the weak probe field can be modulated in real time, and a first-order diffraction efficiency of more than 32% can be obtained with proper parameters. Such a system has a potential application in an all-optical switch controlled by a weak optical signal. 相似文献

The electromagnetically induced grating effect in thermal and cold atoms has been studied theoretically. Studies have shown that, by adjusting the parameters, the first-order diffraction efficiency of the probe beam in the cold atomic system and the thermal atomic system is 34% and 31%, respectively, which is very close to the ideal diffraction efficiency of the sinusoidal grating. However, it is more difficult to prepare the cold atomic system than to prepare the thermal atomic system in the practical application, so the study of the electromagnetically induced grating effect in the thermal atomic system may be helpful for practical applications. 相似文献

对Λ型三能级原子电磁感应透明(EIT)过程中辐射场的二阶相干度进行了研究。理论分析表明,在电磁感应透明系统中,由于原子的相干效应导致其上能级共振荧光场的二阶相干度将呈现单光子场的量子统计特性。并对其随耦合场强度和探测光失谐的变化进行了详细的分析和讨论,结果发现:在|Ω|〉(Γ2+Γ3)/2情况下.采用较弱的耦合光功率(由托比频率Ω表征)及较大的探测光失谐,在较长时间延迟范围内,二阶相十度保持小于1,更利于实现非经典场的量子统计行为;相反,在|Ω|≤(Γ2+Γ3)/2情况下,探测光的失谐量越小,越利于获得二阶相干度小于1的量子统计光场。南此可见选取合适的参量可优化电磁感应透明过程中单光子场的量子统计特性。 相似文献

我们在一个循环四能级相干原子系统中,理论研究了抽运场与调制场强度对信号场增益的作用。研究表明,在循环四能级相干原子介质中,调制场改变了四个能级间的粒子数布居分布,导致信号场被增益放大。对于N型四能级原子系统,当加入微小的调制场(调制场强度与信号场相等)时,共振处信号增益峰值提高了12倍。相干抽运场诱导信号场放大,且改变抽运场强度可以实现信号场由对应粒子数反转增益到无粒子数反转增益。且随着抽运场强度增加,共振增益的取值先变大后变小。该循环系统在光放大及增益效应研究中可能有重要应用。 相似文献

We have theoretically and experimentally studied the quantum coherence effects of a degenerate transition Fg =3←→Fe=2 system interacting with a weak linearly polarized (with σ+ components) probe light and a strong linearly polarized (with σ+ components) coupling field. Due to the competition between the drive Rabi frequency and the Zeeman splitting, electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) are present at the different values of applied magnetic field in the case where the Zeeman splitting of excited state Δe is larger than the Zeeman splitting of ground state Δg (i.e.Δe 〉 Δg). 相似文献

This paper reports the experimental results on electromagnetically induced absorption (EIA) spectra observed in the system which does not satisfy completely the conditions given by Lezama et al [1999 Phys. Rev. A 59 4732]. EIA signals on the transitions in the Cs D2 line are able to be observed, where Fg ←→ Fe = Fg-1 as open systems. Theoretical model of Lezama et al is good for the case Fg ←→ Fc = Fg + 1, considering spontaneous transfer of atomic coherences or populations this model is not able to explain our experimental results obtained in the case Fg ←→ Fe = Fg - 1. This paper offers a theoretical model which is able to well explain the case Fg ←→ Fc = Fg - 1. It also uses this theoretical model to explain the split and shift of EIA peaks, which have been obtained in experiments. 相似文献
