Mode decoupling in solid state ring laser based on stimulated Raman effect in polar crystals 下载免费PDF全文
In this paper we study the gain saturation induced mode-coupling control in solid state ring laser devices based on the stimulated Raman effect of the polar crystals in order to realize solid state ring laser gyroscopes. We theoretically investigate the mode coupling induced by gain saturation between clockwise (CW) and counterclockwise (CCW) propagating laser modes.Because the CW and CCW running waves are pumped with counter-propagating lasers respectively, the independent coexistence can be ensured. 相似文献

Group velocity (GV) of eigenmode is a crucial parameter to
explain the extraordinary phenomena about light propagation in
photonic crystals (PhCs). To study relationships between group
velocity and symmetry of PhCs, a new general expression of GV in
PhCs made up of non-dispersive material is introduced. Based on
this, the GVs of eigenmodes of PhCs, especially those of degenerate
eigenmodes at highly symmetric points in the first Brillouin zone,
are discussed. Some interesting results are obtained. For example,
the summation of degenerate eigenmodes' GVs is invariant under the
operations of wave vector ${{\bm K}}$-group $M_{{\bm K}} $. In
addition, some numerical results are presented to verify them. 相似文献

In order to couple into or out of a silicon photonic waveguide on silicon on insulator (SOI) substrate from optical fibers, we present a simple but practical method to design a grating coupler. The grating is periodic with fully etched slots; strong reflection between the fully etched grating and the waveguide is avoided by adding an antireflection interface. Theoretical coupling efficiency up to 43% is demonstrated. A taper waveguide used to link the grating and waveguide is also designed. 相似文献
