Analytical solution of optimal Meixner-like pole

In this paper, we prove the possibility of optimization of some free parameters of Meixner-like discrete-time linear filters using orthonormal basis functions (OBF) in an analytical way. Since the z-transform of the Meixner filters is impossible and it is possible for Meixner-like filters, we are motivated to study closely the optimization of the Meixner-like's pole. As a result, the differential equation associated with Meixner-like filters has been developed. On the other hand, the effective width of the energy distribution in the transformation domain is a function of the free parameter (Meixner-like pole) and simple signal measurements and can be calculated by the second-order moment. Analytic minimization of the second-order moment gives an optimal value of the free parameter. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, numerical results are used to determine the free parameters.     

On a difference equation of the second order with an exponential coefficient

This paper is devoted to a generalization of some previous results, as we completely solve a linear homogeneous difference equation of the second order with an exponential coefficient.     

Divided-difference equation and three-term recurrence relations of some systems of bivariate q-orthogonal polynomials

Partial divided-difference equations and three-term recurrence relations satisfied by the bivariate Askey–Wilson and the bivariate q-Racah polynomials are computed in this work. By using limiting processes, partial divided (or q)-difference equations and three-term recurrence relations are also provided for each of the following families of orthogonal polynomials: the bivariate continuous dual q-Hahn, the bivariate Al-Salam-Chihara, the bivariate continuous q-Hahn, the bivariate q-Hahn, the bivariate dual q-Hahn, the bivariate q-Krawtchouk, the bivariate q-Meixner, and the bivariate q-Charlier polynomials.

Closed-form solutions of general second order linear recurrences and applications

Two closed-form solutions of a general second order linear recurrence with variable coefficients are established. The first form is combinatorial in nature and is derived through the use of a set which counts the number of elements which are two units apart. The second form is closely related to continued fractions and is derived through the use of continued fraction-like relation. Several applications including a number of verifications of conjectures produced from the Ramanujan Machine are worked out, which illustrate its versatility in this respect.
