The formation of a line of equally spaced particles at the centerline of a microchannel, referred as “particle ordering,” is desired in several microfluidic applications. Recent experiments and simulations highlighted the capability of viscoelastic fluids to form a row of particles characterized by a preferential spacing. When dealing with non-Newtonian fluids in microfluidics, the adherence condition of the liquid at the channel wall may be violated and the liquid can slip over the surface, possibly affecting the ordering efficiency. In this work, we investigate the effect of wall slip on the ordering of particles suspended in a viscoelastic liquid by numerical simulations. The dynamics of a triplet of particles in an infinite cylindrical channel is first addressed by solving the fluid and particle governing equations. The relative velocities computed for the three-particle system are used to predict the dynamics of a train of particles flowing in a long microchannel. The distributions of the interparticle spacing evaluated at different slip coefficients, linear particle concentrations, and distances from the channel inlet show that wall slip slows down the self-assembly mechanism. For strong slipping surfaces, no significant change of the initial microstructure is observed at low particle concentrations, whereas strings of particles in contact form at higher concentrations. The detrimental effect of wall slip on viscoelastic ordering suggests care when designing microdevices, especially in case of hydrophobic surfaces that may enhance the slipping phenomenon.  相似文献

Using an operator ordering method for some commutative superposition operators, we introduce two new multi-variable special polynomials and their generating functions, and present some new operator identities and integral formulas involving the two special polynomials. Instead of calculating complicated partial differential, we use the special polynomials and their generating functions to concisely address the normalization, photocount distributions and Wigner distributions of several quantum states that can be realized physically, the results of which provide real convenience for further investigating the properties and applications of these states.  相似文献

The implicit lower–upper symmetric Gauss–Seidel (LU-SGS) solver is combined with the line-implicit technique to improve convergence on the very anisotropic grids necessary for resolving the boundary layers. The computational fluid dynamics code used is Edge, a Navier–Stokes flow solver for unstructured grids based on a dual grid and edge-based formulation. Multigrid acceleration is applied with the intention to accelerate the convergence to steady state. LU-SGS works in parallel and gives better linear scaling with respect to the number of processors, than the explicit scheme. The ordering techniques investigated have shown that node numbering does influence the convergence and that the orderings from Delaunay and advancing front generation were among the best tested. 2D Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes computations have clearly shown the strong efficiency of our novel approach line-implicit LU-SGS which is four times faster than implicit LU-SGS and line-implicit Runge–Kutta. Implicit LU-SGS for Euler and line-implicit LU-SGS for Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes are at least twice faster than explicit and line-implicit Runge–Kutta, respectively, for 2D and 3D cases. For 3D Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes, multigrid did not accelerate the convergence and therefore may not be needed.  相似文献

Organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite-type multiferroics have attracted considerable research interest owing to their fundamental scientific significance and promising technological applications in sensors and multiple-state memories. The recent achievements with divalent metal dicyanamide compounds revealed such malleable frameworks as a unique platform for developing novel functional materials. Herein, two 3D organic–inorganic hybrid perovskites [Et3P(CH2)2F][Mn(dca)3] ( 1 ) and [Et3P(CH2)2Cl][Mn(dca)3] ( 2 ) (dca=dicyanamide, N(CN)2) are presented. Accompanying the sequential phase transitions, they display a broad range of intriguing physical properties, including above room temperature ferroelastic behavior, switchable dielectricity, and low-temperature antiferromagnetic ordering (Tc=2.4 K for both 1 and 2 ). It is also worth noting that the spontaneous strain value of 1 is far beyond that of 2 in the first ferroelastic phase, as a result of the precise halogen substitution. From the point view of molecular design, this work should inspire further exploration of multifunctional molecular materials with desirable properties.  相似文献

This paper investigates some properties of approximate efficiency in variable ordering structures where the variable ordering structure is given by a special set valued map.
