The rate of convergence of q-Bernstein polynomials for

In the note, we obtain the estimates for the rate of convergence for a sequence of q-Bernstein polynomials {B_n,q(f)} for 0<q<1 by the modulus of continuity of f, and the estimates are sharp with respect to the order for Lipschitz continuous functions. We also get the exact orders of convergence for a family of functions , and the orders do not depend on α, unlike the classical case.  

On Converse Theorem of Best Approximation by Polynomials in Bergman Spaces H_q~p(p>0,q>1)

A Bernstein type theorem and a converse theorem of best approximation by polynomials inBergman spaces H_q~p(p>0,q>1) are proved.Some proofs and results in [1] are in proved.  

Fixed Design Nonparametric Regression with Truncated and Censored Data

In this paper we consider a fixed design model in which the observations axe subject to left truncation and right censoring. A generalized product-limit estimator for the conditional distribution at a given covaxiate value is proposed, and an almost sure asymptotic representation of this estimator is established. We also obtain the rate of uniform consistency, weak convergence and a modulus of continuity for this estimator.Applications include trimmed mean and quantile function estimators.

Jackson-type inequalities and widths of function classes in L 2

The sharp Jackson-type inequalities obtained by Taikov in the space L ₂ and containing the best approximation and the modulus of continuity of first order are generalized to moduli of continuity of kth order (k = 2, 3, ... ). We also obtain exact values of the n-widths of the function classes F(k, r, Φ) and F _k ^r (h), which are a generalization of the classes F(1, r, Φ) and F _k ^r (h) studied by Taikov.
