We prove that a function definable with parameters in an o‐minimal structure is bounded away from ∞ as its argument goes to ∞ by a function definable without parameters, and that this new function can be chosen independently of the parameters in the original function. This generalizes a result in [1]. Moreover, this remains true if the argument is taken to approach any element of the structure (or ±∞), and the function has limit any element of the structure (or ±∞) (© 2010 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. We introduce and study some local versions of o‐minimality, requiring that every definable set decomposes as the union of finitely many isolated points and intervals in a suitable neighbourhood of every point. Motivating examples are the expansions of the ordered reals by sine, cosine and other periodic functions (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim) 相似文献

We consider power systems with complex-valued coeficients. We establish a necessary and suficient condition for completeness and minimality and also a necessary condition for the basis property of these systems in Lebesgue spaces. 相似文献

We explore analogues of o‐minimality and weak o‐minimality for circularly ordered sets. Much of the theory goes through almost unchanged, since over a parameter the circular order yields a definable linear order. Working over ?? there are differences. Our main result is a structure theory (with infinitely many doubly transitive examples related to Jordan permutation groups) for ?0‐categorical weakly circularly minimal structures. There is a 5‐homogeneous (or ‘5‐indiscernible’) example which is not 6‐homogeneous, but any example which is k‐homogeneous for some k ≥ 6 is k‐homogeneous for all k. Completely J — positive linear systems of finite order are introduced as a generalization of completely symmetric linear systems. To any completely J — positive linear system of finite order there is associated a defining measure with respect to which the transfer function has a certain integral representation. It is proved that these systems are asymptotically stable. The observability and reachability operators obey a certain duality rule and the number of negative squares of the Hankel operator is estimated. The Hankel operator is bounded if and only if a certain measure associated with the defining measure is of Carleson type. We prove that a real symmetric operator valued function which is analytic outside the unit disk has a realization with a completely J — symmetric linear space which is reachable, observable and parbalanced. Uniqueness and spectral minimality of the completely J — symmetric realizations are discussed. 相似文献

Let be a compact, connected, -smooth and globally minimal hypersurface in which divides the projective space into two connected parts and . We prove that there exists a side, or , such that every continuous CR function on extends holomorphically to this side. Our proof of this theorem is a simplification of a result originally due to F. Sarkis.

A sufficient condition is obtained for the minimality of the complex exponential system E(A, M) = {z^le^λnz: l = 0, 1,,.., mn - 1; n = 1, 2,...} in the Banaeh space La^p consisting of all functions f such that f^-a ∈ LP(N). Moreover, if the incompleteness holds, each function in the closure of the linear span of exponential system E(A, M) can be extended to an analytic function represented by a Taylor-Dirichlet series. 相似文献

We consider interpolation of discrete functions by continuous ones with restriction on the size of spectra. We discuss a sharp contrast between the cases of compact and unbounded spectra. In particular we construct ‘universal’ spectra of small measure which deliver positive solution of the interpolation problem in Bernstein spaces for every discrete sequence of knots. 相似文献

A characterization of groups with generalized Chernikov periodic part is obtained first in the class of groups without elements
of order 2 and then without this restriction. Two author’s theorems for periodic groups are generalized to mixed groups.
