Minimal kernels of Dirac operators along maps

Let M be a closed spin manifold and let N be a closed manifold. For maps and Riemannian metrics g on M and h on N, we consider the Dirac operator of the twisted Dirac bundle . To this Dirac operator one can associate an index in . If M is 2‐dimensional, one gets a lower bound for the dimension of the kernel of out of this index. We investigate the question whether this lower bound is obtained for generic tupels .     

The double deflating technique for irreducible singular M-matrix algebraic Riccati equations in the critical case

As is known, Alternating-Directional Doubling Algorithm (ADDA) is quadratically convergent for computing the minimal nonnegative solution of an irreducible singular M-matrix algebraic Riccati equation (MARE) in the noncritical case or a nonsingular MARE, but ADDA is only linearly convergent in the critical case. The drawback can be overcome by deflating techniques for an irreducible singular MARE so that the speed of quadratic convergence is still preserved in the critical case and accelerated in the noncritical case. In this paper, we proposed an improved deflating technique to accelerate further the convergence speed – the double deflating technique for an irreducible singular MARE in the critical case. We proved that ADDA is quadratically convergent instead of linearly when it is applied to the deflated algebraic Riccati equation (ARE) obtained by a double deflating technique. We also showed that the double deflating technique is better than the deflating technique from the perspective of dimension of the deflated ARE. Numerical experiments are provided to illustrate that our double deflating technique is effective.     

Approximate Entropy of Brain Network in the Study of Hemispheric Differences

Human brain, a dynamic complex system, can be studied with different approaches, including linear and nonlinear ones. One of the nonlinear approaches widely used in electroencephalographic (EEG) analyses is the entropy, the measurement of disorder in a system. The present study investigates brain networks applying approximate entropy (ApEn) measure for assessing the hemispheric EEG differences; reproducibility and stability of ApEn data across separate recording sessions were evaluated. Twenty healthy adult volunteers were submitted to eyes-closed resting EEG recordings, for 80 recordings. Significant differences in the occipital region, with higher values of entropy in the left hemisphere than in the right one, show that the hemispheres become active with different intensities according to the performed function. Besides, the present methodology proved to be reproducible and stable, when carried out on relatively brief EEG epochs but also at a 1-week distance in a group of 36 subjects. Nonlinear approaches represent an interesting probe to study the dynamics of brain networks. ApEn technique might provide more insight into the pathophysiological processes underlying age-related brain disconnection as well as for monitoring the impact of pharmacological and rehabilitation treatments.     

Abel群的一些分解定理的推广(I)

这项研究的目的是要把Abel群（有限或无限）的诸多分解定理尽可能地推广到主理想整环的模上,得到这类模上的分解定理,随后再把所得定理应用到向量空间（有限维或无限维）及其线性变换,得到向量空间的分解定理.本文是系列文章的第一篇,主要目的是建立起支撑整个研究的最基本概念,例如纯子模、有界模、局部循环模、具有minimax条件的模等.本文主要内容有： （1）确定了主理想整环上可除模、有界模、局部循环模的结构; （2）给出了主理想整环上拟循环模的生成性质,这类模在以后的研究里起着非常重要的作用; （3）描述了主理想整环上满足极小条件,minimax条件的模的结构; （4）给出了两个不同构的Z[i]-模,它们作为Abel群是同构的.     

所有极大子群都为SMSN-群的有限群

若有限群G的每个2-极大子群在G中次正规,则称G为SMSN-群.本文研究了有限群G的每个真子群是SMSN-群但G本身不是SMSN-群的结构,利用局部分析的方法,获得了这类群的完整分类,推广了有限群结构理论的一些成果.     

Absolute Minimal Sampling of Homonuclear 2D NMR TOCSY Spectra for High-Throughput Applications of Complex Mixtures

Modern applications of 2D NMR spectroscopy to diagnostic screening, metabolomics, quality control, and other high-throughput applications are often limited by the time-consuming sampling requirements along the indirect time domain t₁. 2D total correlation spectroscopy (TOCSY) provides unique spin connectivity information for the analysis of a large number of compounds in complex mixtures, but standard methods typically require >100 t₁ increments for an accurate spectral reconstruction, rendering these experiments ineffective for high-throughput applications. For a complex metabolite mixture it is demonstrated that absolute minimal sampling (AMS), based on direct fitting of resonance frequencies and amplitudes in the time domain, yields an accurate spectral reconstruction of TOCSY spectra using as few as 16 t₁ points. This permits the rapid collection of homonuclear 2D NMR experiments at high resolution with measurement times that previously were only the realm of 1D experiments.     

Subgroups of totally imprimitive permutation groups

In this work the study of subgroups of totally imprimitive permutation groups is continued. Some sufficient conditions for the existence of minimal non-FC-subgroups are given. These results depend mainly on the properties of self-normalizing subgroups, which are closed in the topology of point-wise convergence. Finally, new properties of a totally imprimitive permutation p-group satisfying the cyclic-block property are given which might be a suitable example to look for minimal non-FC-subgroups.     

On Lorentzian Ricci solitons on nilpotent Lie groups

The aim of this article is to exhibit the variety of different Ricci soliton structures that a nilpotent Lie group can support when one allows for the metric tensor to be Lorentzian. In stark contrast to the Riemannian case, we show that a nilpotent Lie group can support a number of non‐isometric Lorentzian Ricci soliton structures with decidedly different qualitative behaviors and that Lorentzian Ricci solitons need not be algebraic Ricci solitons. The analysis is carried out by classifying all left invariant Lorentzian metrics on the connected, simply‐connected five‐dimensional Lie group having a Lie algebra with basis vectors and and non‐trivial bracket relations and , investigating the various curvature properties of the resulting families of metrics, and classifying all Lorentzian Ricci soliton structures.     

Locally symmetric left invariant Riemannian metrics on 3‐dimensional Lie groups

In this paper, we use the powerful tool Milnor bases to determine all the locally symmetric left invariant Riemannian metrics up to automorphism, on 3‐dimensional connected and simply connected Lie groups, by solving system of polynomial equations of constants structure of each Lie algebra . Moreover, we show that E ₀(2) is the only 3‐dimensional Lie group with locally symmetric left invariant Riemannian metrics which are not symmetric.
