Global Attractor of Hindmarsh-Rose Equations in Neurodynamics

Global dynamics for a new mathematical model in neurodynamics of the diffusive Hindmarsh-Rose equations on a bounded domain is investigated in this paper. The existence of a global attractor and its regularity are proved through uniform estimates showing the dissipative properties and the asymptotically compact and smoothing characteristics.

THE COMPACT COMPOSITION OPERATOR ON THE μ-BERGMAN SPACE IN THE UNIT BALL

nAbstract Let p 0 and μ be a normal function on [0, 1), ν(r) =(1-r~2)~(1+(n/p)) μ(r) for r ∈ [0, 1). In this article, the bounded or compact weighted composition operator T_φ,ψfrom the μ-Bergman space A~p(μ) to the normal weight Bloch type space β_ν in the unit ball is characterized. The briefly sufficient and necessary condition that the composition operator C_φis compact from A~p(μ) to β_ν is given. At the same time, the authors give the briefly sufficient and necessary condition that C_φis compact on β_μ for a 1.

Positive ground state of coupled systems of Schrödinger equations in involving critical exponential growth

In this paper, we study the existence of a positive ground state solution to the following coupled system of nonlinear Schrödinger equations: where the nonlinearities f₁(x,s) and f₂(x,s) are superlinear at infinity and have exponential critical growth of the Trudinger‐Moser type. The potentials V₁(x) and V₂(x) are nonnegative and satisfy a condition involving the coupling term λ(x), namely, λ(x)²<δ²V₁(x)V₂(x) for some 0<δ<1. For this purpose, we use the minimization technique over the Nehari manifold and strong maximum principle to get a positive ground state solution. Moreover, by using a bootstrap argument and L^q‐estimates, we get regularity and asymptotic behavior.     

Essential spectra of self-adjoint relations under relatively compact perturbations

This paper is concerned with the stability of essential spectra of self-adjoint relations under relatively compact perturbation in Hilbert spaces. Relationships between relative boundedness and relative compactness of linear relations are established, and some necessary and sufficient conditions of relative compactness and relative boundedness of linear relations are given. It is shown that the essential spectra of self-adjoint relations are invariant under either relatively compact perturbation or a more general perturbation. The results obtained in the present paper generalize the corresponding results for operators to relations, and some of which weaken certain assumptions of the related existing results.     

A Singular Limit Problem for Conservation Laws Related to the Camassa–Holm Shallow Water Equation

We consider a shallow water equation of the Camassa–Holm type, which contains nonlinear dispersive effects as well as fourth order dissipative effects. We prove that as the diffusion and dispersion parameters tend to zero, with a condition on the relative balance between these two parameters, smooth solutions of the shallow water equation converge to discontinuous weak solutions of a scalar conservation law. The proof relies on deriving suitable a priori estimates together with an application of the compensated compactness method in the L ^p setting.
