Central extensions and deformations of Hom-Lie triple systems

In this paper, we study the cohomology theory of Hom-Lie triple systems generalizing the Yamaguti cohomology theory of Lie triple systems. We introduce the central extension theory for Hom-Lie triple systems and show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between equivalent classes of central extensions of Hom-Lie triple systems and the third cohomology group. We develop the 1-parameter formal deformation theory of Hom-Lie triple systems and prove that it is governed by the cohomology group.     

On approximations of the de Rham complex and their cohomology

For a commutative algebra R, its de Rham cohomology is an important invariant of R. In the paper, an infinite chain of de Rham-like complexes is introduced where the first member of the chain is the de Rham complex. The complexes are called approximations of the de Rham complex. Their cohomologies are found for polynomial rings and algebras of power series over a field of characteristic zero.     

On the homology groups of the Brauer complex for a triquadratic field extension

The homology groups , , and of the Brauer complex for a triquadratic field extension are studied. In particular, given , we find equivalent conditions for the image of D in to be zero. We consider as well the second divided power operation , and show that there are nonstandard elements with respect to γ₂. Further, a natural transformation , which turns out to be nondegenerate on the left, is defined. As an application we construct a field extension such that the cohomology group of the Brauer complex contains the images of prescribed elements of , provided these elements satisfy a certain cohomological condition. At the final part of the paper examples of triquadratic extensions with nontrivial are given. As a consequence we show that the homology group can be arbitrarily big.     

Exponential sums and rigid cohomology

In this article, we prove a comparison theorem between the Dwork cohomology introduced by Adolphson and Sperber and the rigid cohomology. As a corollary, we can calculate the rigid cohomology of Dwork isocrystal on torus.

On the relation between formal grade and depth with a view toward vanishing of Lyubeznik numbers

Let (R,𝔪) be a local ring and I an ideal. The aim of the present paper is twofold. At first we continue the investigation to compare fgrade(I,R) with depth R∕I and further we derive some results on the vanishing of Lyubeznik numbers.
