The gravitational Szekeres differential system is completely integrable with two rational first integrals and an additional analytical first integral. We describe the dynamics of the Szekeres system when one of these two rational first integrals is negative, showing that all the orbits come from the infinity of R4 and go to infinity.  相似文献

A compact graph-like space is a triple (X,V,E), where X is a compact, metrizable space, VX is a closed zero-dimensional subset, and E is an index set such that XV◂+▸E×(0,1). New characterizations of compact graph-like spaces are given, connecting them to certain classes of continua, and to standard subspaces of Freudenthal compactifications of locally finite graphs. These are applied to characterize Eulerian graph-like compacta.  相似文献

The Central Sets Theorem was introduced by H. Furstenberg and then afterwards several mathematicians have provided various versions and extensions of this theorem. All of these theorems deal with central sets, and its origin from the algebra of Stone–?ech compactification of arbitrary semigroup, say βS. It can be proved that every closed subsemigroup of βS is generated by a filter. We will show that, under some restrictions, one can derive the Central Sets Theorem for any closed subsemigroup of βS. We will derive this theorem using the corresponding filter and its algebra. Later we will also deal with how the notions of largeness along filters are preserved under some well behaved homomorphisms and give some consequences.  相似文献

We show that an arbitrary infinite graph G can be compactified by its ends plus its critical vertex sets, where a finite set X of vertices of an infinite graph is critical if its deletion leaves some infinitely many components each with neighbourhood precisely equal to X. We further provide a concrete separation system whose ?0‐tangles are precisely the ends plus critical vertex sets. Our tangle compactification is a quotient of Diestel's (denoted by ), and both use tangles to compactify a graph in much the same way as the ends of a locally finite and connected graph compactify it in its Freudenthal compactification. Finally, generalising both Diestel's construction of and our construction of , we show that G can be compactified by every inverse limit of compactifications of the sets of components obtained by deleting a finite set of vertices. Diestel's is the finest such compactification, and our is the coarsest one. Both coincide if and only if all tangles are ends. This answers two questions of Diestel.  相似文献

Let T : X → X be a uniformly continuous homeomorphism on a non-compact metric space (X, d). Denote by X* = X ∪ {x*} the one point compactification of X and T * : X* → X* the homeomorphism on X* satisfying T *|X = T and T *x* = x*. We show that their topological entropies satisfy hd(T, X) ≥ h(T *, X*) if X is locally compact. We also give a note on Katok’s measure theoretic entropy on a compact metric space.  相似文献

The dynamics of a string near a Kaluza-Klein black hole are studied. Solutions to the geodesic equations are obtained using the world sheet velocity of light as an expansion parameter. For a string falling into a magnetically charged black hole, it is shown that the compact dimension decreases with the world-sheet coordinate τ.  相似文献

We investigate the evolution dynamics of a two-level atom system interacting with the massless scalar field in a Cylindrical spacetime. We find that both the energy shifts of ground state and excited state can be separated into two parts due to the vacuum fluctuations. One is the corresponding energy shift for a rest atom in four-dimensional Minkowski space without spatial compactification, the other is just the modification of the spatial compactified periodic length. It will reveal that the influence of the presence of one spatial compactified dimension can not be neglected in Lamb shift as the relative energy level shift of an atom.  相似文献
