In this work,the well-known problem put forward by S N Bernstein in 1930 is studied in a deep step.An operator is constructed by revising double interpolation nodes.It is proved that the operator converges to arbitrary continuous functions uniformly and the convergence order is the best.     

Modified Laguerre spectral and pseudospectral methods for nonlinear partial differential equations in multiple dimensions

The Laguerre spectral and pseudospectral methods are investigated for multidimensional nonlinear partial differential equations. Some results on the modified Laguerre orthogonal approximation and interpolation are established, which play important roles in the related numerical methods for unbounded domains. As an example, the modified Laguerre spectral and pseudospectral methods are proposed for two-dimensional Logistic equation. The stability and convergence of the suggested schemes are proved. Numerical results demonstrate the high accuracy of these approaches.     

An FEM approximation for a fourth-order variational inequality of second kind

A fourth-order variational inequality of the second kind arising in a plate frictional bending problem is considered. By using regularization method, the original problem can be formulated as a differentiable variational equation, and the corresponding discrete FEM variational equation is presented afterwards. Abstract error estimates and error estimates of the approximation are derived in terms of energy norm and L^2-norm.     

Pointwise characterization for combinations of Szász-Mirakjan operators

The purpose of this paper is to characterize the pointwise rate of convergence for the combinations of Szász-Mirakjan operators using Ditzian-Totik modulus of smoothness.     

"精确到"与"精确度"

新教材引入了二分法求函数的近似值,这就涉及到近似计算中的两个概念:"精确到"与"精确度".教材上用的是精确度,一般如精确度为0.1,是指函数f(x)在区间[a,b]上,有f(a)·f(b)<0,则在(a,b)上存在零点,如∣a-b∣<0.1,在区间上任取一点,包括两个端点,其精确度即为0.1.而"精确到",以精确到0.1为例,即我们平常所说的精确到小数点后一位,是指与精确值的误差不超过±0.05.     

对二分法求函数零点近似值的教学思考

“函数的零点”是上海教育出版社高中一年级第一学期3．4节“函数的基本性质”中的内容，教学要求为：使学生理解用“二分法”求函数零点的算法思想，会借助计算器求函数零点的数值解．笔者在研究教材相关内容的过程中，发现一些值得思考的问题．     

From Markov jump systems to two species competitive Lotka-Volterra equations with diffusion

In this paper, we start at a random evolution system on biological particles, which is described by a Markov jump system. Under a suitable scaling, we perform a proper approximation procedure. Then the so-called weak convergence of Markov processes and Martingales allow us to establish a （deterministic） two species competitive Lotka-Volterra equation.     

The method of <Emphasis Type="Italic">A</Emphasis>-harmonic approximation and boundary regularity for nonlinear elliptic systems under the natural growth condition

We consider the questions of boundary regularity for weak solutions of second-order nonlinear elliptic systems under the natural growth condition. We obtain a general criterion for a weak solution to be regular in the neighborhood of a given boundary point. The proof yields directly the optimal regularity for the solution in this neighborhood. This result is new for the situation under the natural growth conditions.
