On the minimal sum of Betti numbers of an almost complex manifold

We show that the only rational homology spheres which can admit almost complex structures occur in dimensions two and six. Moreover, we provide infinitely many examples of six-dimensional rational homology spheres which admit almost complex structures, and infinitely many which do not. We then show that if a closed almost complex manifold has sum of Betti numbers three, then its dimension must be a power of two.     

Central Schur rings over the projective special linear groups

In [1 Bannai, E. (1991). Subschemes of some association schemes. J. Algebra 14:167–188.[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]], Bannai presents a fusion condition and uses this to consider central Schur rings (S-rings) over the simple groups PSL(2,q) where q is a prime power. In this paper, we concretely describe all such S-rings in terms of symmetric S-rings over cyclic groups. The final section discusses counting these.     

A tensor product of the Steinberg module and a certain simple kG(pr)-module

Let G be a connected, semisimple, and simply connected algebraic group defined and split over the finite field of order p, and let G(q) be the corresponding finite Chevalley or twisted group, where q = p^r. Recently, Anwar determines the direct sum decomposition of the tensor product of the rth Steinberg module and a simple G-module with a (p,r)-minuscule highest weight λ. In this paper, we determine that of the tensor product regarded as a module for G(q) under some weak assumptions for λ.

Low rank matrix recovery from rank one measurements

We study the recovery of Hermitian low rank matrices $X\in {\mathbb{C}}^{n\times n}$ from undersampled measurements via nuclear norm minimization. We consider the particular scenario where the measurements are Frobenius inner products with random rank-one matrices of the form $a_j{a}_j^{?}$ for some measurement vectors $a_1,\dots ,a_m$, i.e., the measurements are given by $b_j=\mathrm{tr}(X{a}_j{a}_j^{?})$. The case where the matrix $X=x{x}^{?}$ to be recovered is of rank one reduces to the problem of phaseless estimation (from measurements $b_j=|〈x,a_j〉{|}^2$) via the PhaseLift approach, which has been introduced recently. We derive bounds for the number m of measurements that guarantee successful uniform recovery of Hermitian rank r matrices, either for the vectors $a_j$, $j=1,\dots ,m$, being chosen independently at random according to a standard Gaussian distribution, or $a_j$ being sampled independently from an (approximate) complex projective t-design with $t=4$. In the Gaussian case, we require $m\ge Crn$ measurements, while in the case of 4-designs we need $m\ge \mathit{Cr}n\log ?(n)$. Our results are uniform in the sense that one random choice of the measurement vectors $a_j$ guarantees recovery of all rank r-matrices simultaneously with high probability. Moreover, we prove robustness of recovery under perturbation of the measurements by noise. The result for approximate 4-designs generalizes and improves a recent bound on phase retrieval due to Gross, Krahmer and Kueng. In addition, it has applications in quantum state tomography. Our proofs employ the so-called bowling scheme which is based on recent ideas by Mendelson and Koltchinskii.

复杂网络广泛存在于日常生活,首先,给出几类标准的网络模型;然后,利用稳定性控制方法设计并实现了具有时滞与非时滞耦合的复杂网络模型快速控制;最后,通过构造优化Lyapunov函数,讨论其模型的射影同步问题,得到了系统全局稳定的条件和有效的控制器,以实例数值验证其方法的可行性。
