In this paper, the normal form analysis of quadratic-cubic Swift-Hohenberg equation with a dissipative term is investigated by using the multiple-scale method. In addition, we obtain Hamiltonian-Hopf bifurcations of two equilibria and homoclinic snaking bifurcations of one-peak and two-peak homoclinic solutions by numerical simulations.  相似文献

The problem of estimating parameters of a Pareto distribution is investigated under a general scale invariant loss function when the scale parameter is restricted to the interval (0, 1]. We consider the estimation of shape parameter when the scale parameter is unknown. Techniques for improving equivariant estimators developed by Stein, Brewster–Zidek and Kubokawa are applied to derive improved estimators. In particular improved classes of estimators are obtained for the entropy loss and a symmetric loss. Risk functions of various estimators are compared numerically using simulations. It is also shown that the technique of Kubokawa produces improved estimators for estimating the scale parameter when the shape parameter is known.  相似文献

This paper studies similarity solutions for pulsatile flow in a tube with wall injection and suction. The Navier-Stokes equations are reduced to a system of three ordinary differential equations. Two of the equations represent the effects of suction and injection on the steady flow while the third represents the effects of suction and injection on pulsatile flow. Since the equations for steady flow have been studied previously, the analysis centers on the third equation. This equation is solved numerically and by the method of matched asymptotic expansions. The exact numerical solutions compare well with the asymptotic solutions. The effects of suction and injection on pulsatile flow are the following: a) Small values of suction can cause a resonance-like effect for low frequency pulsatile flow. b) The annular effect still occurs but for large injection or suction the frequency at which this effect becomes dominant depends on the cross-flow Reynolds number. c) The maximum shear stress at the wall is decreased by injection, but may be increased or decreased by suction.Nomenclature a radius of the tube - a 0 2 i 2 - A0, B0, C0, D0, E0 constant coefficients appearing in the expression for pressure - b a non-dimensionalized length - b 0 2 i 2 2 - b k complex coefficients of a power series - B - C 1, C 2, D complex constants - d - D 1,2 - f() F(a 1/2)/aV - f 0,f 1,... functions of order one used in asymptotic expansions of f() - F(r) rv r - g() - G(r) a steady component of velocity in axial direction - h() 4/C0 a 2 H(a 1/2) - h 0,h 1,h 2,...;l 0,l 1,l 2,... functions of order one used in asymptotic expansions for h() in outer regions - H(r) complex valued function giving unsteady component of velocity - H 0, H 1, H 2, ... We consider the steady flow of an inviscid, rotating fluid confined in a cylinder under the influence of a uniform axial magnetic field, in the presence of an isolated point force. It is found that, the wave-like terms, infinite in number, occurring on the downstream side are not persistent and decay at far distances, in contrast to the non-magnetic case. Also the presence of a uniform magnetic field induces an additional finite number of decaying modes on the upstream side and an infinite number of similar modes on the downstream side, which reduce to the geostrophic terms, in the corresponding non-magnetic case. The downstream solution reveals that discontinuities occur in the velocity gradients inside the fluid region.  相似文献

A model turbulence field consisting of essentially discrete but interacting eddies is presented. The development of a single eddy is described by considering its interaction with the remainder of the turbulence field. Vortex line stretching is found to produce initially an increase in the mean square vorticity of the eddy. Consideration of the decay rate of vorticity suggests that the rate of dissipation of turbulent energy per unit mass depends weakly upon the Reynolds number of the turbulence.  相似文献

On the ground of wharf and a station where coal is piled up,the sources polluting theatmosphere are mainly the raised coal dust.According to the principle of mechanics, withthe consideration of the gravities of coal dust particles and liquid droplets, coal dust size andhumidity, under the condition of force balance when the coal dust was raised, the authorsobtained a theoretical formula for the threshold velocity of coal dust with humidity. Finally, the theoretical values from the formula gave a good agreement with the experimental datafrom some wind tunnels.  相似文献

Homoclinic snake always refers to the branches of homoclinic orbits \mbox{near} a heteroclinic cycle connecting a hyperbolic or non-hyperbolic equilibrium and a periodic orbit in a reversible variational system. In this paper, the normal form of a Swift-Hohenberg equation with two different symmetry-breaking terms (non-reversible term and non-k-symmetry term) are investigated by using multiple scale method, and their bifurcation diagrams are initially studied by numerical simulations. Typically, we predict numerically the existence of so-called round-snakes and round-isolas upon particular two symmetric-breaking perturbations.  相似文献

A backward stochastic diferential equation is discussed in this paper. Under some weaker conditions than uniformly Lipschitzian condition given by Pardoux and Peng(1990), using Picard interaction and Cauchy sequence, the existence and uniqueness of the solutions to the backward stochastic diferential equation.  相似文献
