In this paper, we study an inverse problem of reconstructing two time independent coefficients in the reaction diffusion system from the final measurement. First the given problem is transformed into an optimization problem by using optimal control framework and the existence of the minimizer for the control functional is established. Then we prove the stability estimate for two coefficients with the upper bound given by some Sobolev norms of the final measurement.  相似文献

We develop an approach to the longstanding conjecture of Kierstead concerning the character of strongly nontrivial automorphisms of computable linear orderings. We present a robust and accurate numerical method for simulating gravity-driven, thin-film flow problems. The convection term in the governing equation is treated by a semi-implicit, essentially non-oscillatory scheme. The resulting nonlinear discrete equation is solved using a nonlinear full approximation storage multigrid algorithm with adaptive mesh refinement techniques. A set of representative numerical experiments are presented. We show that the use of adaptive mesh refinement reduces computational time and memory compared to the equivalent uniform mesh results. Our simulation results are consistent with previous experimental observations.  相似文献

By using basic complex analysis techniques, we obtain precise asymptotic approximations for kernels corresponding to symmetric α-stable processes and their fractional derivatives. We use the deep connection between the decay of kernels and singularities of the Mellin transforms. The key point of the method is to transform the multi-dimensional integral to the contour integral representation. We then express the integrand as a combination of gamma functions so that we can easily find all poles of the integrand. We obtain various asymtotics of the kernels by using Cauchys Residue Theorem with shifting contour integration. As a byproduct, exact coefficients are also obtained. We apply this method to general Lévy processes whose characteristic functions are radial and satisfy some regularity and size conditions. Our approach is based on the Fourier analytic point of view.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the boundary value problem of the nonstationary Stokes system in \({\mathbb R}^{n}_+\times (0,T)\) . We generalize the result of (Hofmann and Nystrom Methods Appl. This paper discusses adaptive finite element methods for the solution of elliptic eigenvalue problems associated with partial differential operators. An adaptive method based on nodal-patch refinement leads to an asymptotic error reduction property for the computed sequence of simple eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. This justifies the use of the proven saturation property for a class of reliable and efficient hierarchical a posteriori error estimators. Numerical experiments confirm that the saturation property is present even for very coarse meshes for many examples; in other cases the smallness assumption on the initial mesh may be severe.  相似文献

Canonical Forest     
We propose a new classification ensemble method named Canonical Forest. The new method uses canonical linear discriminant analysis (CLDA) and bootstrapping to obtain accurate and diverse classifiers that constitute an ensemble. We note CLDA serves as a linear transformation tool rather than a dimension reduction tool. Since CLDA will find the transformed space that separates the classes farther in distribution, classifiers built on this space will be more accurate than those on the original space. To further facilitate the diversity of the classifiers in an ensemble, CLDA is applied only on a partial feature space for each bootstrapped data. To compare the performance of Canonical Forest and other widely used ensemble methods, we tested them on 29 real or artificial data sets. Canonical Forest performed significantly better in accuracy than other ensemble methods in most data sets. According to the investigation on the bias and variance decomposition, the success of Canonical Forest can be attributed to the variance reduction.  相似文献

The effect of Coriolis force on the onset of ferromagnetic convection in a rotating horizontal ferrofluid saturated porous layer in the presence of a uniform vertical magnetic field is studied. The boundaries are considered to be either stress free or rigid. The modified Brinkman–Forchheimer-extended Darcy equation with fluid viscosity different from effective viscosity is used to characterize the fluid motion. The condition for the occurrence of direct and Hopf bifurcations is obtained analytically in the case of free boundaries, while for rigid boundaries the eigenvalue problem has been solved numerically using the Galerkin method. Contrary to their stabilizing effect in the absence of rotation, increasing the ratio of viscosities, Λ, and decreasing the Darcy number Da show a partial destabilizing effect on the onset of stationary ferromagnetic convection in the presence of rotation, and some important observations are made on the stability characteristics of the system. Moreover, the similarities and differences between free–free and rigid–rigid boundaries in the presence of buoyancy and magnetic forces together or in isolation are emphasized in triggering the onset of ferromagnetic convection in a rotating ferrofluid saturated porous layer. For smaller Taylor number domain, the stress-free boundaries are found to be always more unstable than in the case of rigid boundaries. However, this trend is reversed at higher Taylor number domain because the stability of the stress-free case is increased more quickly than the rigid case.  相似文献
