A nonsmooth version of Newton's method

Newton's method for solving a nonlinear equation of several variables is extended to a nonsmooth case by using the generalized Jacobian instead of the derivative. This extension includes the B-derivative version of Newton's method as a special case. Convergence theorems are proved under the condition of semismoothness. It is shown that the gradient function of the augmented Lagrangian forC ²-nonlinear programming is semismooth. Thus, the extended Newton's method can be used in the augmented Lagrangian method for solving nonlinear programs.This author's work is supported in part by the Australian Research Council.This author's work is supported in part by the National Science Foundation under grant DDM-8721709.  

Finite-dimensional variational inequality and nonlinear complementarity problems: A survey of theory,algorithms and applications

Over the past decade, the field of finite-dimensional variational inequality and complementarity problems has seen a rapid development in its theory of existence, uniqueness and sensitivity of solution(s), in the theory of algorithms, and in the application of these techniques to transportation planning, regional science, socio-economic analysis, energy modeling, and game theory. 层次分析法权重计算方法分析及其应用研究

介绍层次分析法的基本概念,同时也分析了层次分析法权重的计算方法及应用,层次分析法的计算方法有四种方法:几何平均法、算术平均法、特征向量法、最小二乘法,以往的文献利用层次分析法解决实际问题时,都是采用其中的某一种方法求权重向量,不同的方法会导致结果有些偏差,将对一具体实例,采用四种计算方法分别得出权重向量再进行排序和综合分析,这样可以避免采用单一方法所产生的偏差,得出的结论将更全面、更有效。  

图的距离不大于β的任意两点可区别的边染色

本文提出了图的距离不大于β的任意两点可区别的边染色,即D(β)-点可区别的边染色(简记为D(β)-VDPEC)．并得到了一些特殊图类,如圈、完全图、完全二部图、扇、轮、树以及一些联图的D(β)-点可区别的边色数,文后提出了相关的猜想．  

Lukasiewicz n值命题逻辑中命题的真度理论

利用势为 n的均匀概率空间的无穷乘积在 Lukasiewicz n值命题逻辑中引入了公式的真度概念,当3≤n≤17时证明了全体公式的真度值之集在[0,1]上是稠密的,并给出了公式真度的表达通式;利用真度定义了公式间的相似度,进而导出了全体公式集上的一种伪距离,为n值Lukasiewicz命题逻辑系统的近似推理理论提供了一种可能的框架。  

一类二阶非线性阻尼微分方程的振动性

研究了一类二阶非线性阻尼微分方程解的振动性,建立了三个新的振动性定理,推广了Cecchi M和Marini M(Rocky Mount J Math,1992,22:1259-1276)的结果.  

一个新的非常规Hermite型各向异性矩形元的超收敛分析及外推

本文对二阶椭圆问题构造了一个新的非常规Hermite型矩形单元并用各向异性插值基本定理证明了其各向异性特征,从而可用于任意的矩形剖分.同时还得到了与网格的正则性假设和拟一致假设无关的超逼近和超收敛性质以及外推.数值结果表明该单元确实是一个具有很好应用价值的单元且与理论分析是相吻合的.  

脉冲时滞抛物型方程解的振动性

本文研究了两类边界条件下有振动系数的脉冲时滞抛物型方程解的振动性,得到了若干解振动的判别准则。其结果即使用于有固定符号系数的方程,也显著地改进了已有的结果。  

The approximation power of moving least-squares

A general method for near-best approximations to functionals on , using scattered-data information is discussed. The method is actually the moving least-squares method, presented by the Backus-Gilbert approach. It is shown that the method works very well for interpolation, smoothing and derivatives' approximations. For the interpolation problem this approach gives Mclain's method. The method is near-best in the sense that the local error is bounded in terms of the error of a local best polynomial approximation. The interpolation approximation in is shown to be a function, and an approximation order result is proven for quasi-uniform sets of data points.

Zusammenfassung Eine Platte aus plastischem Material fliesst aus einem Spalt mit einer Geschwindigkeit, die proportional zum Abstand vom Spalt ist. Eine exakte Lösung der Grenzschichtgleichungen für die von der Platte erzeugte Luftbewegung wird gegeben. Oberflächenreibung und Wärmeleitungskoeffizient werden berechnet.
