We investigated the effect of GaNAs strain-compensating layers (SCLs) on the properties of InAs self-assembled quantum dots (QDs) grown on GaAs (0 0 1) substrates. The GaNAs material can be used as SCL thereby minimizing the net strain, and thus is advantageous for multi-stacking of InAs QDs structures and achieving long wavelength emission. The emission wavelength of InAs QDs can be tuned by changing the nitrogen (N) composition in GaNAs SCLs due to both effects of strain compensation and lowering of potential barrier height. A photoluminescence emission at 77 K was clearly observed for sample with GaN0.024As0.976 SCL. Further, we observed an improvement of optical properties of InAs QDs by replacing the more popular GaAs embedding layers with GaNAs SCLs, which is a result of decreasing non-radiative defects owing to minimizing the total net strain. 相似文献

Dense, homogeneous, and fine-grained multiferroic BaTiO3/(Ni0.5Zn0.5)Fe2O4 composite ceramics are synthesized by a novel powder-in-sol precursor hybrid processing route. This route includes the dispersion of nanosized BaTiO3 ferroelectric powders prepared via conventional sold-state ceramic process into (Ni0.5Zn0.5)Fe2O4 ferromagnetic sol-gel precursor prepared via a sol-gel wet chemistry process. The composite ceramics show coexistence of obvious ferroelectric and ferromagnetic hysteresis loops at room temperature. Very low dielectric loss of about 0.02–0.0067 in the range of 10 kHz–10 MHz can be achieved, which is about an order of magnitude lower than the results of many reports using conventional processes at room temperature. The combination of high permeability and permittivity with low losses in the ceramics enables significant miniaturization of electronic devices based on the ceramics. 相似文献

The photoabsorption spectrum of the O2 Schumann-Runge bands was measured with resolution comparable to the Doppler widths by using the VUV Fourier transform spectrometer from Imperial College, London, combined with synchrotron radiation as a continuum light source at the Photon Factory, KEK, Japan. The analysis of the (12,0)-(17,0) bands of the Schumann-Runge system provides accurate rotational line positions as well as the line intensities from 185 to 175 nm. Molecular constants of the levels of the state have been determined. The (v′,0) band oscillator strengths were determined as 2.38, 2.62, 2.70, 2.66, 2.40, and 2.12×10−5 for the bands from v′=12 to 17, respectively. 相似文献

Rigid and little moldable curdlan, a linear β-1,3-glucan having intra- and interchain hydrogen bonds, was reacted with several alkyl isocyanates, which gave thermoplastic curdlan alkyl carbamates (CrdC) with degree of substitution about 2. The alkyl carbamation at hydroxy groups in the glucan skeleton effectively broke the interchain hydrogen bonds of curdlan and increased flexibility of CrdC, while the newly formed carbamate moieties could moderately keep the hydrogen bonding ability in CrdC. Elongating the alkyl groups in the carbamate side chains increased solubility in organic solvents and thermoplasticity of CrdC, which enabled to make homogeneous and free-standing films by both methods of solution-casting and hot-pressing. 相似文献

Since the physical properties of lithium borate glasses xLi2O-(1-x)B2O3 (0<x< 0.28) vary over a wide range with the composition, this binary system is particularly suitable for studying the relationship
between vibrational anharmonicity and fragility. The density, the linear expansion coefficient, the longitudinal and transverse
ultrasonic velocities and their respective temperature coefficients of the velocities are measured, from which the vibrational
anharmonicity in lithium borate glasses is evaluated with the help of the Grüneisen parameter at the Debye cut-off frequency
and the Anderson-Grüneisen parameter: these two parameters plotted vs. composition have the same characteristics with minima at x≈0.08. The fragility is evaluated from the temperature width of the glass transition; the fragility also shows a minimum at
x≈0.08. The presence of minima at x≈0.08 is ascribable to the fact that the crosslinking density between six-membered rings in the glass reaches a maximum at
this composition. We show that the anharmonic parameters strongly correlate with the fragility metrics.

We have investigated the effect of co-absorbed CO and reaction temperature on the angular distribution of N(2) desorption by N(2)O decomposition under the steady state of N(2)O-CO reaction on Rh(110). Spatial distributions of desorbing product N(2) emission have been measured at various surface temperatures and CO coverages. The decomposed N(2) collimates at 48°-61° off normal in the parallel plane to [001] and [110] directions, indicating that adsorbed N(2)O just before the decomposition is oriented along the [001] direction. Although the inclined and collimated N(2) desorption is always observed at any steady-state CO coverage and reaction temperature, the shape of the collimated N(2) distribution varied dependent on the co-adsorbed CO coverage. The distribution becomes sharp and shifts toward the surface normal direction with increasing CO coverage. These effects of adsorbed CO on the angular distribution of N(2) are interpreted by the collision of desorbed N(2) with co-adsorbed CO. 相似文献

The complex bis-(N,N-dimethyl-1,2-ethanediamine) nickel(II) perchlorate undergoes a first-order thermochromic phase transition at ca. 476 K, changing its color from orange to red. The room temperature X-ray crystal structure determination showed that the nickel ion possesses a square-planar geometry with two five membered chelate rings, in the δλ conformation, forming the NiN4 chromophore. The broad-line 1H NMR indicates the onset of a dynamic disorder of diamine chelate rings at the phase transition temperature region, while T1 measurement of 1H affords the activation energy of the puckering metal chelate rings to be 26 kJ mol−1. The electronic spectrum revealed that a weakening of ligand field around the nickel is associated with the phase transition. 相似文献

The non-Debye excess heat capacities of binary lithium borate glasses with different Li2O compositions of x = 8, 14 and 22 (mol%) are investigated to understand origin of the boson peak. The low-temperature heat capacities are measured between 2 and 50 K by a relaxation calorimeter. The experimental non-Debye heat capacities with x = 14 is successfully reproduced using the excess vibrational density of states measured by inelastic neutron scattering. This finding indicates that the non-Debye heat capacities of lithium borate glasses originate from the excess vibrational density of states measureable by inelastic neutron scattering. Moreover, it is demonstrated that all of the excess heat capacity spectra lie on a single master curve by the scaling using boson peak temperature and intensity. 相似文献
