OSCILLATORY FUNCTIONS AND SECOND ORDER LINEAR EQUATIONS

We are concerned at first with a class of oscillatory functions, which are not necessarily solutions of differential equations. Using some properties of these functions, we discuss forced oscillations and relative oscillations for the equation y″(x) p(x)y(x)=f(x). A correlation with respect to oscillations between p and f is disclosed.
