Rapid qualitative profiling and quantitative analysis of Juglandis Mandshuricae Cortex and seven flavonoids by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole/orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry

Juglandis Mandshuricae Cortex is the bark of Juglans mandshurica Maxim., which has been used as a folk medicine plant in China and India. In this study, an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole/orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry method was developed to clarify and quantify the chemical profiling of Juglandis Mandshuricae Cortex rapidly. A total of 113 compounds were characterized. Among them, seven flavonoids were simultaneously quantified in 15 min, including myricetin, myricetrin, taxifolin, kaempferol, quercetin, quercitrin, and naringenin. The method was validated for accuracy, precision, and the limits of detection and quantification. All calibration curves showed a good linear relationship (r > 0.9990) within test ranges. The intra- and inter-day relative standard deviations were less than 2.16%. Accuracy validation showed that the recovery was between 95.6 and 101.3% with relative standard deviation values below 2.85%. The validated method was successfully applied to determine the contents of seven flavones in Juglandis Mandshuricae Cortex from seven sources and the contents of these places were calculated respectively. This method provides a theoretical basis for further developing the medicinal value of Juglandis Mandshuricae Cortex.

Hamiltonian cycles in 7-tough (P3 ∪ 2P1)-free graphs

The toughness of a noncomplete graph G is the maximum real number t such that the ratio of $|S|$ to the number of components of $G?S$ is at least t for every cutset S of G. Determining the toughness for a given graph is NP-hard. Chvátal's toughness conjecture, stating that there exists a constant $t_0$ such that every graph with toughness at least $t_0$ is hamiltonian, is still open for general graphs. A graph is called $(P_3\cup 2P_1)$-free if it does not contain any induced subgraph isomorphic to $P_3\cup 2P_1$, the disjoint union of $P_3$ and two isolated vertices. In this paper, we confirm Chvátal's toughness conjecture for $(P_3\cup 2P_1)$-free graphs by showing that every 7-tough $(P_3\cup 2P_1)$-free graph on at least three vertices is hamiltonian.     

o-Trityl phenoxy-imino vanadium (III) complexes: synthesis,characterization, and catalysis on ethylene (co)polymerization

Several phenoxy-imine ligands bearing o-trityl group in phenoxy moiety RN=CHArOH (Ar = C₆H₂(CPh₃)^tBu, R = 2,6-Me₂C₆H₃ ( L ₁ H ); 2,6-ⁱPr₂C₆H₃ ( L ₂ H ); 3,5-(CF₃)₂C₆H₃ ( L ₃ H ); 3,5-(OMe)₂C₆H₃ ( L ₄ H ); CHPh₂ ( L ₅ H ); CPh₃ ( L ₆ H )) were synthesized and characterized by¹H NMR and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy. The vanadium complexes based on these ligands LVCl₂(THF)₂ ( 1–6 ) were synthesized via conventional transmetalation reaction in moderate to high yields. Complexes 1–6 were fully characterized by FT-IR, elemental analyses and the molecular structures of 1 , 2 ·H₂O, (2 ·H₂O ) ₂ (μ-Cl) ₂ , 4 , and 5 were confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis in which the six-coordinated vanadium centers are in a typical octahedral geometry. Upon activation with Et₂AlCl in toluene, complexes 1–6 showed high activities in ethylene polymerization affording polymers with moderate molecular weight (5.9–11.8 × 10⁴ Da). Moreover, in hexane or CH₂Cl₂, 1–6 /Et₂AlCl exhibited enhanced activities. When activated with MAO or MMAO in toluene, these complexes showed relatively low activities but afforded polymers with ultra-high molecular weight (up to 3.30 × 10⁶ Da). 1–6 /Et₂AlCl also showed high activities in ethylene/1-hexene copolymerization at room temperature giving moderate molecular-weight polymers (6.5–11.4 × 10⁴ Da) with co-monomer incorporation being of 6.0 ~ 7.8%.     

Limit cycle bifurcations near a double homoclinic loop with a nilpotent saddle of order m

In this paper, we study the explicit expansion of the first order Melnikov function near a double homoclinic loop passing through a nilpotent saddle of order m in a near-Hamiltonian system. For any positive integer $m(m\ge 1)$, we derive the formulas of the coefficients in the expansion, which can be used to study the limit cycle bifurcations for near-Hamiltonian systems. In particular, for $m=2$, we use the coefficients to consider the limit cycle bifurcations of general near-Hamiltonian systems and give the existence conditions for 10, 11, 13, 15 and 16 (11, 13 and 16, respectively) limit cycles in the case that the homoclinic loop is of cuspidal type (smooth type, respectively) and their distributions. As an application, we consider a near-Hamiltonian system with a nilpotent saddle of order 2 and obtain the lower bounds of the maximal number of limit cycles.     

1,3,4-(口恶)二唑硫醚酰胺为核心骨架的新型多杂环分子的合成及对Cdc25B与PTP1B的抑制活性

首先利用含有三嗪的芳香酰肼(3)构筑了1,3,4-噁二唑衍生物(5), 然后将化合物5与含有1,3,4-噻二唑的衍生物(6)拼合合成了18个目标分子. 利用红外光谱(IR)、 核磁共振波谱(NMR)和高分辨质谱(HRMS)等技术对其结构进行了表征. 考察了目标分子对细胞分裂周期25磷酸酯酶B(Cdc25B)和蛋白酪氨酸磷酸酯酶1B(PTP1B)的抑制活性. 结果表明, 有8个目标分子的抑制活性优于其阳性对照物, 有望成为潜在的Cdc25B抑制剂; 有12个目标分子的抑制活性优于其对照物, 有望成为潜在的PTP1B抑制剂.     

On tight 6-cycle decompositions of complete 3-uniform hypergraphs

The complete 3-uniform hypergraph of order v has a vertex set V of size v and the set of all 3-element subsets of V as its edge set. A tight 6-cycle is a hypergraph with vertex set $\{a,b,c,d,e,f\}$ and edge set $\{\{a,b,c\},\{b,c,d\},\{c,d,e\},\{d,e,f\},\{e,f,a\},\{f,a,b\}\}$. We show that there exists a decomposition of the complete 3-uniform hypergraph of order v into isomorphic copies of a tight 6-cycle if and only if $v\equiv 1$, 2, 10, 20, 28, or $29(\mathrm{mod}36)$.     

Synthesis,cytotoxicity, apoptosis and cell cycle arrest of a monoruthenium(II)-substituted Dawson polyoxotungstate

By 5-h reaction of cis-[Ru^IICl₂(DMSO)₄] (M2) with K₁₀[α₂-P₂W₁₇O₆₁] (M3) in ice-cooled, HCl-acidic aqueous solution, a water-soluble 1:2-type diamagnetic ruthenium(II) complex of formula K₁₈[Ru^II(DMSO)₂(P₂W₁₇O₆₁)₂]·35H₂O (M1) was unexpectedly obtained as an analytically pure, homogeneous tan-colored solid, in which two DMSO ligands are coordinated to the ruthenium(II) atom. The cytotoxic potential of the complex was tested on C33A, DLD-1, and HepG-2 cancer cells and human normal embryonic lung fibroblasts cell MRC-5; the viability of the treated cells was evaluated by MTT assay. The mode of cell death was assessed by morphological study of DNA damage and apoptosis assays. Compound M1 induced cell death in a dose-dependent manner, and the mode of cell death was essentially apoptosis though necrosis was also noticed. Cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry indicated that M1 caused cell cycle arrest and accumulated cells in S phase.
