The nonlocal symmetry is derived for an equation combining the modified Calogero–Bogoyavlenskii–Schiff equation with its negative-order form from the truncated Painlevéexpansion method. The nonlocal symmetries are localized to the Lie point symmetry by introducing new auxiliary dependent variables. The finite symmetry transformation and the Lie point symmetry for the prolonged system are solved directly. Many new interaction solutions among soliton and other types of interaction solutions for the modified Calogero–Bogoyavlenskii–Schiff equation with its negative-order form can be obtained from the consistent condition of the consistent tanh expansion method by selecting the proper arbitrary constants.  相似文献

A manifold that contains small perturbations will induce a perturbed partial differential equation. The partial differential equation that we select is the Poisson equation – in order to explore the interplay between the geometry of the manifold and the perturbations. Specifically, we show how the problem of symmetry determination, for higher-order perturbations, can be elegantly expressed via geometric conditions.  相似文献

We carry out a complete Lie symmetry analysis and Noether symmetry classification of the (1 + 1)‐dimensional H non–Lane–Emden system. It is shown that the principal Lie algebra, which is one dimensional, extends in several cases. It is also shown that four main cases transpire in the Noether classification with respect to the Lagrangian. In addition, conservation laws for the H non–Lane–Emden system are constructed. Furthermore, we briefly discuss the importance and the physical interpretation of these conserved vectors. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In the first part of this contribution, the Lie-symmetries of the principle of least action associated to the constitutive equations of the DNLR formalism of relaxation have been presented. We examine in this second part the continuous symmetries corresponding to the simple case of stress relaxation under isothermal conditions. The well-known principle of time/temperature equivalence is discussed in terms of variational symmetry for the Jacobi’s action functional, and connected to the Onsager’s relation near the thermodynamic equilibrium.  相似文献

In a fairly recent paper (2008 American Control Conference, June 11‐13, 1035‐1039), the problem of dealing with trading in optimal pairs was treated from the viewpoint of stochastic control. The analysis of the subsequent nonlinear evolution partial differential equation was based upon a succession of Ansätze, which can lead to a solution of the terminal‐value problem. Through an application of the Lie Theory of Continuous Groups to this equation, we show that the Ansätze are based upon the underlying symmetries of the equation (their (14)). We solve the problem in a more general context by allowing the parameters to be explicitly time dependent. The extension means thatmore realistic problems are amenable to the samemode of solution. We studied the symmetry and spatial uniformity of the orientational order of the biaxial nematic phase in the light of recent experimental observations of phase biaxiality in thermotropic bent-core and calamitic-tetramer nematics. Evidence is presented supporting monoclinic symmetry, instead of the usually assumed orthorhombic symmetry. The use of deuterium nuclear magnetic resonance to differentiate between the possible symmetries is described. The spatial aspects of biaxial order are presented in the context of the cluster model, wherein macroscopic biaxiality can result from the field-induced alignment of biaxial and possibly polar domains. The implications of different symmetries on the alignment of biaxial nematics and on the measurements of biaxial order are discussed in conjunction with the microdomain structure of the biaxial phase.  相似文献

The propagation of rough and smooth wall pre-existing turbulent fluid fractures is investigated. The laminar fluid fracture is included as a special case for comparison. Lubrication theory is assumed to apply in the fracture and turbulence is introduced through the wall shear stress. The Perkins–Kern–Nordgren approximation is made in which the fluid pressure is proportional to the half-width of the fracture. The fracture half-width satisfies a non-linear diffusion equation. By using a linear combination of the Lie point symmetries of the non-linear diffusion equation a group invariant solution for the fracture length, volume and half-width is derived. The evolution of the length, half-width and mean flow velocity is analysed for a range of working conditions at the fracture entry. It is found that the mean flow velocity increases approximately linearly along the fracture.  相似文献

The complete symmetry group of an 1+1 evolution equation of maximal symmetry has been demonstrated to be represented by the six-dimensional Lie algebra of point symmetries sl(2,R)sW, where W is the three-dimensional Heisenberg-Weyl algebra. We construct a complete symmetry group of a 1+2 evolution equation ut=(Fy(u)ux) for some functions F using the point symmetries admitted by the equation. The 1+2 equation is not completely specifiable by point symmetries alone for some specific functions F. We make use of Ansätze already reported by Myeni and Leach [S.M. Myeni, P.G.L. Leach, Nonlocal symmetries and complete symmetry groups of evolution equations, J. Nonlinear Math. Phys. 13 (2006) 377-392] which provide a route to the determination of the required generic nonlocal symmetries necessary to supplement the point symmetries for the complete specification of these 1+2 evolution equations. Further we find that taking some suitable linear combination of Lie point symmetries helps to optimise the procedure of specifying the equation. A general result concerning the number of symmetries required to form a complete symmetry group of evolution is presented in the Conclusion.  相似文献

This study deals with the analytic solutions for the two nonlinear problems arising in heat transfer. These problems are due to (i) temperature distribution in lumped system of combined convection–radiation and (ii) temperature distribution in a uniformly thick rectangular fin radiation to free space. Large symmetry algebras are obtained for the nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) describing the heat transfer. We use method of canonical variables to either linearize or transform the governing equations to integrable forms. Exact solutions are constructed. Finally, a comparison is given between the homotopy and symmetry solutions.  相似文献
