The impact of a conceptual model-based mathematics computer tutor on multiplicative reasoning and problem-solving of students with learning disabilities

The study explored the impact of Please Go Bring Me-COnceptual Model-based Problem Solving (PGBM-COMPS) computer tutoring system on multiplicative reasoning and problem solving of students with learning disabilities. The PGBM-COMPS program focused on enhancing the multiplicative reasoning and problem solving through nurturing fundamental mathematical ideas and moving students above and beyond the concrete level of operation. This is achieved by taking advantages of the constructivist approach from mathematics education and explicit conceptual model-based problem solving approach from special education. Participants were three elementary students with learning disabilities (LD). A mixed method design was employed to investigate the effect of the PGBM-COMPS program on enhancing students’ multiplicative reasoning and problem solving. It was found that the PGBM-COMPS program significantly improved participating students’ problem solving performance not only on researcher developed criterion tests but also on a norm-referenced standardized test. Qualitative and quantities data from this study indicate that, in addition to nurturing fundamental concept of composite units, it is necessary to help students to understand underlying problem structures and move toward mathematical model-based problem representation and solving for generalized problem solving skills.     

EPR谱图模拟软件EasySpin的图形用户界面设计

EasySpin是一款较为流行的电子顺磁共振（EPR）谱图模拟和拟合软件,LabVIEW是一种图形化编程语言开发环境．本文介绍了一款使用LabVIEW为EasySpin设计的图形用户界面LV-EasySpin．LV-EasySpin提供了一种直观的操作方法来实现连续波EPR多组分波谱的可视化模拟和拟合．本文辅以各种模式下的实例进行说明,阐述了LV-EasySpin的设计思路与实现方案,最终希望具有简洁、易操作界面的LV-EasySpin可以降低用户使用EasySpin分析EPR谱图的难度．     

均衡约束数学规划问题的一种新的约束规格

本文研究了均衡约束数学规划(MPEC)问题.利用其弱稳定点,获得了一种新的约束规格–MPEC的伪正规约束规格.用一种简单的方式,证明了该约束规格是介于MPEC-MFCQ(即MPEC,Mangasarian-Fromowitz约束规格)与MPEC-ACQ(即MPEC,Abadie约束规格)之间的约束规格,因此该约束规格也可以导出MPEC问题的M-稳定点.最后通过两个例子,说明了该约束规格与MPEC-MFCQ以及与MPEC-ACQ之间是严格的强弱关系.     

Generalized Levitin-Polyak Well-Posedness for Generalized Semi-Infinite Programs

In this article, we study the generalized Levitin-Polyak well-posedness of generalized semi-infinite programs. We first give the criteria and characterizations for two types of well-posedness. We then establish the convergence of a class of penalty methods under the assumption of generalized type I Levitin-Polyak well-posedness.     

MATLAB在光学界面发生反射时的分析与应用

基于MATLAB的计算功能及可视化功能计算并分析了光学中的菲涅耳公式,更加直观的揭示了光波在两介质界面发生反射时的变化规律。使学生更加深入、直观地掌握光波在界面发生变化的条件、实质及布儒斯特角与全反射临界角的物理意义,同时也学会了分析研究方法,且提高了学习的主动性和创造性。     

Mathematical modeling on the effect of equivalence ratio in emission characteristics of compression ignition engine with hydrogen substitution

The investigation presented in this paper concerns on the computational simulation of emissions characteristics in compression ignition engine with hydrogen substitution. Combustion process has been modeled based on Equilibrium Constants Method (ECM) with MATLAB program to calculate the mole fractions of 18 combustion products when hydrogen is burnt along with diesel fuel at variable equivalence ratios. It can be observed that hydrogen substitution causes significant increase in NH₃, H₂, atom H emissions during rich combustion and OH, NO₂, HNO₃ emissions during lean combustion. As the equivalence ratio increases during rich combustion, mole fractions of HCN, CH₄, CO and atom C decreases with increment of hydrogen substitution. N₂, atom N and CO₂ emissions decrease whereas no significant changes in O₂, NO, O₃ and atom O emissions throughout all equivalence ratios as hydrogen is added to the combustion.
